Alright I got your attention, here's a quick list on what's going on!
1. *New content and DLC is coming to PD2 according to the new CEO and soon* _(Paid, separate in order to _*_make profit for PD3 development_*_ )_
2. UE is being changed to "Legacy Collection" since *this will be the separation between Old DLCS and New DLCS*
3. All current "Legacy" DLCs that were originally separated and came with the UE are now back on sale as separate DLCs

Can i just point out how depressed the CEO of Starbreeze (Mikail) sounds in his message to the community?
And who can blame him, being the CEO of a dying company does that to people.
Maybe they can still earn they Payday...
Then again, maybe not.
This is honestly a good move on his part and hopefully a good sign for his abilitys, Not that it is hard to beat the other guy.
At least he was brutally honest about how them supporting the game again is meant to be a (needed) cash grab.
When you're the head of a business that went under reconstruction because you literally have no funding, and have to openly tell your customers the demoralizing truth you don't have any funding in the hopes they'll give you it in support. It's a sad and depressing feeling only he is going to feel.
He and every single guy that still wastes his time working at Starbreeze got what they deserved. Did they learn something? Who knows. If I suddenly see a trailer of a *NEW* dlc, even a paid one, or a trailer for Payday 3, then I think they did.

Ok so:
Ultimate Edition is being renamed to Legacy Collection. Previously Dlcs will be available to purchase seperately.
Support for Payday 2 is coming back, New content both free and paid (Yes they broke their promise, either that or bankruptcy i guess) with new stuff coming soon apparently. Maybe halloween stuff, now would be prime time for it.
They had to do that to get some cash flowing in, I don't blame them honestly.

They missed multiple seasonal events on multiple years, I seriously doubt they'll release anything Halloween related.
Honestly I don't care if they broke their promise or not.. I love payday.. I have a shit ton of fun playing it.. And honestly I wouldn't mind supporting so they keep the cash in flow.., let's just hope the dlcs are good.. ~ and we get a payday 3..

Why does overkill never update console? My PC is outdated so I can’t play all the heists like shackle thorn auction go bank White House. This is a complaint
Honestly, I’m glad to spend more money on this game. I love this payday so much, and it was heartbreaking to see the financial turmoil of Overkill. I truly hope that people come together and support overkill so we can eventually get Payday 3.

I'm not even mad. I'd rather them do this than go under. I poured over 2 thousand hours into Payday 2 and haven't really touched it since doing The End (since I already have all the other achievements) so, new content while also being able to support them so they don't die. I'm all in. Let's do this.

I've played over 300 hours, after endless terrible business decisions and greedy dlc overload if they can't remain solvent I'm not gonna cry. More content on the already awful diesel engine is just not exciting or worth paying for to me and I'm not gonna touch it.
@@CotSwossel Well that is the beauty of it now isn't it. You don't have to buy things that don't interest you. over 2k hours in and I'm still very much thirsty for more content. Even better if I know that it's going to help keep the company afloat so I can see payday 3.
I don't want a payday 3 that's just going to demand payments repeatedly forever for essential features and nickle and dime me and go back on every promise they make. Hope they go out of business like they're on track to do. :)

it was because well....they were(and still are) very much bankrupt and undergoing reconstruction (haven't checked the news in a while so the situation might've changed)
At this point it seems fairly safe to assume one has much better odds of winning a lottery than ever seeing PD3.

Please understand that people prefer consoles rather than PCs. Making a switch from console to PC can be difficult, as PCs require maintenance unlike consoles. I recently made that switch and i can now see why people will sometimes stick to their consoles. Then there's the fact that consoles tend to be cheaper.

For those wondering, I think this is possibly an update for the console version. They just had to rename the ‘ultimate edition’ to something similar so console/pc players don’t get confused.
Its actually a change to the way the pc version is bought because they are going back to making more DLC for the pc version

Overkill do care about consoles since Console + PC brings more money to the table for them, which means of course they have to keep the replay ability of the game alive. So dont lose hope on PS4 and XBOX One... Although, i would recommend you guys at Switch, start getting another game or wait a little bit longer.
Reason why the haven't been bringing updates to Consoles is cause even though the PC development team and the console team are separate they work in the same company, OVERKILL went bankrupt and so they had to go into reconstruction to get to work not only on consoles but PC as well.
But now that they are bringing PAYDAY back of course they will update Console and more often

not sure if anyone noticed but near to the end when the crew is standing there while the location switches, Houston is there, but then when the final image comes up of them standing there with the title above, houston is replaced with hoxton
Hoxton was the original member of the Payday gang, replaced by Huston when he went to jail. Untill the Payday gang broke Hoxton out, Huston was using the name "Hoxton" for himself.
After Hoxton was broken out, he was named Hoxton again and the new guy changed his nickname to Huston.

I actually bought the Ultimate Edition all the way back in 2015.

Actually letting people buying DLCs seperately is a good strategy, like I am obsessed with this game to the point I bought both of the Hotline Miami's just for the extra content but I am poor so I don't have the money to buy the ultimate edition but now I can buy the DLCs slowly and get them all and I will be happy and Overkill will be happy (for not going bankrupt).
If I already have the ultimate edition will I receive all the paid dlc for no additional cost?
i get the disappointment from everyone but i’m perfectly fine with this. more content means it doesn’t have to be canon missions, so sky’s the limit with new heists. and as long as it’s quality, i’ll still support you.

Advice from an Infamous 14: don't lose your time playing online. You'll either find ragequiting noobs or stealthy assholes. That together with a LOT of glitches and connection issues.
Set up your A.I. team with your best gear and play offline.

Overkill, i love you guys i really do, but we both know paydays dead my friend. What we need now is not re-uploads of dlc, but fresh content of payday 3 from the amazing minds that brought us 1 and 2.
You'll be happy to hear that ulf andersson (one of the two andersson brothers who founded overkill, and the chief creative director on Payday 2) has left overkill in 2015, and simon viklund (the guy who has composed the vast majority of the music in the game) also officially stopped working for overkill, even if he does some music as a freelance artist.
I do not trust overkill or starbreeze to either continune making payday 2 content or to make payday 3
