This is awesome. Especially the calendula oil and bees wax salve. I believe her that it healed her grandpa's skin cancer spot. My dad did the same with a spot on his nose, but with aloe.

Do not believe such stories. If the spot disappeared, it was probably eczema, not cancer.

I live in southern New Mexico (high desert) where our summers are really hot & dry. I planted Calendula in spring where it would be shaded from the western sun and it flourished! Of course I watered it every day…people don’t seem to water enough and wonder why their plants struggle. I had 2 plants that produced so many flowers that I was harvesting them every day. Some I let air dry and I had so many that I put them in the freeze dryer. 😊

I was given some seeds a couple of summers ago. I have three or four cups of seeds now. I plan on planting them all. Why not? :) They also make really cool photography subjects.

I'm im zone 8b in Washington state and I plant them in August (after the flowers make the seeds from this season) and they will come up and establish themselves and make it through the winter, even with snow and all and flower in the following spring and summer

Absorbine liniment contains essence of Calendula, but it should be used sparingly on skin because it contains defatting chemicals. The plant is also called Marigold, and contains Pyrethrin which is a strong insect repellent.

Calendula is actually called POT MARIGOLD. Marigold and Calendula are two different plants.

Thank you for the video, I'm glad you covered this topic! I also think that the method Sofia used is probably the best.
I've been wanting to make calendula ointment myself, and on the Internet some time ago, I saw videos of people who *heated* a calendula infusion on the stove to speed up the process.
However I also saw a study report according to which a 7% concentration of Calendula is much more beneficial for the skin than a lower or higher concentration. Therefore I believe that it's better not to use heat to make an infusion.
"... the 7% concentration of this product can act much better than the other concentrations, causing significant wound healing activity because of the collagen synthesis; however, the 10% gel is less effective than the 7% gel. Perez-Car reon et al. (2002) and Barajas-Farias et al.(2006) showed that some concentrations of calendula flower extract can be toxic (1 0 and 20 mg/kg doses produced an increment in the number of carcinogenic
hepatic cells 25 days later, but there is no application about this effect on the other days), so decreased collagen deposition in the 10% gel to the 7% gel may be due to this effect, and also each group contained only five rats and this can increase the error risk. To summarize the results of
this study, C. officinalis gel can affect collagen deposition and wound healing, but not all of its concentrations because it has both a dual and an opposite effect in different concentrations of this gel. Low concentrations have no effects and high concentrations have cytotoxic effects ..."

Yep, yep. I always combine comfrey and calendula in the salves I make. (I grow both.) I also use calendual tea for a rub when my large dog gets his regular ear infections. It is a quick healer.
I will never again grow marigold. I grew that until I discovered calendula's benefits. Marigolds stink and their stems lay down and root themselves making them super hard to remove at the end of the season.

Hey Chad, I regularly watch your videos. Your very informative and thorough! I have a question for you.
Is there anything natural that I can do to help reduce acne and inflammation on the face?
I’m really desperate and none of the over the counter remedies are working. :(
I’m willing to try anything natural that can help. Thank you.

There are a few things that you can do dietarily. Avoiding anything with dairy is one thing. That includes anything with milk and cheese. One other thing that can make a major difference is avoiding any form of refined fat like oil. That means avoiding olive oil, coconut oil or any form of butter. If you try that for two weeks you will likely see a massive difference and after a month you may see an incredible reduction. Eating a handful of nuts a day will get you all the good fat that you need. But even high amounts of nuts may produce acne. I know it takes some sacrifice but you will likely be rewarded with clear skin.

This is no joke. I used this on a cat that continued to get in fights. When I applied this oil on the wound, it seems to heal within 3 days! Subsequent wounds and treatments proved it. WARNING: I would not use this for cysts or encapsulated wounds. It heals the outside so fast that it doesn’t permit proper drainage.

I mainly use the Sony A7sii for the interviews with an old manual Nikon 50mm f1.2. It is a relatively inexpensive lens with great quality. It is more the lens than the camera. I use an adapter that allows it to connect to the Sony camera. The mic is a rode wireless go 2. But if I were to buy a new one I would go with this for the mic. amzn.to/3htA9T7. That is an affiliate link. I am not trying to sell this mic but the non affiliate link was a massive URL.
