The most impressive thing about 2 of the teams shown on here is that it took them not even 5 years to win a World Series. Marlins won after only 4 years of existence, while the diamondbacks only took 3 years. Incredible
They had an advantage over previous expansion teams in that could they draft from both leagues whereas before the expansion teams could only draft from the pool of players from their own league. Plus the established teams could protect fewer players in their organizations for the draft. So the later expansion teams had a better head start in forming competitive teams.

As a Tigers 🐅 fan, I got my heart broken 💔 2x in 2006 and 2012. Watching them lose both times were terrible, especially after we'd swept our two ALCS opponents to get there.
Two things I noticed while watching this: Unlike World series games from the 1970s and 1980s, fans didn't storm the field after the games. Also. Umpires went from wearing dress shirts and coats to wearing soft ball looking uniforms.
It is more jarring when you watch a video collection of NLCS wins and see that the Braves were in every NLCS from 1991 to 1999. 5 pennants is impressive enough in a decade, but they literally could have made every World Series of the 90s minus 1990.

1991, 1992, 1996, 1999. Braves lost 4 World Series in less than a decade. Jesus, 1996 hurt especially. As a Braves fan growing up, that series and the Leyritz bomb literally broke my heart as a young baseball fan. I only followed baseball casually after that as a defense mechanism I think so it wouldn't be as painful. After they lost again in 1999, I pretty much stopped watching. I don't think I've ever sat down and watched a full game since....just bits and pieces.
Also, I think to find the last time the Giants clinched a World Series on their home field was 1922. I do know of the five they've won since, all have been clinched on the road. 2014 was the first time since '79 that the road team won Game 7, and it's happened twice since then: the Cubs in '16 and the Astros the next year.
Mariano Rivera ending WS in '98, '99, '00, '01 and '09. What the hell man? How selfish of him. Joe Carter was the man responsible for ending the 1992 & 1993 World Series. He caught the final out in '92, hit a Series ending Walk-Off in '93. Edgar Rentaria ended two World Series as well. He hit a Game 7 Walk-Off in 1997, and grounded out to end the 2004 World Series. 3 men, nine separate World Series ending plays between them. That's just crazy.
If you want to win a lot of bar bets, or just stump a baseball fan, ask who made the "last out" of a World Series that ended with a walkoff hit ('91, '93, '97, '01). Even better, the answer to two of them, '93 and '97, is Devon White (a flyout two batters before Carter in '93 and a fielders' choice one batter before Renteria in '97). The other two were sacrifice bunts (Chuck Knoblauch in '91 and Jay Bell in '01).
Just a couple tidbits of useless information on some things I noticed. Joe Carter had the final put-out of the 92 series and final at bat of the 93 series. He also hit a walk off single to win the 91 division title for the Jay's. He also was the final at bat when when the Cubs won the 98 wild card one game playoff against the giants. Edgar Renteria had the final at bat of the 97 world series to win it for the Marlins and had the final at bat of the 04 world series to lose it for the Cardinals...
I'm a Doyer fan but I really liked the 96 Yankees one. God, I HATED the Braves back then. Angels was another for beating the Giants but, was negated 8 years later. 2003 Marlins because I got sick of the Yankees winning.
Jays were a pretty well oiled machine by that point. They got rid of their jitters against the Braves. The Blue Jays batting line up was a murderers row. Even better than the 92 team. 4 .300+ hitters, (that was the year Olerud flirted with .400 for almost the entire year). And it was apparently the first time in 100 years that the same team had the top 3 hitters in the league (for average). 3 100+ RBI guys and Alomar at 93. And the pitching was good enough. Well balanced. Dave Stewart was still an intimidating starter and Guzman was pitching very well. Ward had become a pretty great closer.
2001 is why I became a Dbacks fan. Not only game 7 but all the seven games are unforgettable.
Hopefully one day the team can go back to those days.
Best WS ever in my opinion.
I couldn't imagine how it felt like when he hit that walk-off in 1993. Must be the strongest feeling of euphoria he'd ever experience

Reds killed the A’s . 5 Time World Series Champs !
10:37 I smiled and cried hearing Harry Kalas again...
2001- still in therapy now.
'93 The best Year
and Joe Carter's home run was called by the Legend Tom Cheek on the radio
I notice there are not many strikeouts as the last pitch/play which means the last guy gets a good cut at it
I'm not totally sure but I think Chipper won the Rookie Of The Year Award in the 95 season too! Reminds me of Buster Posey!
The 90s Braves always made it to the playoffs.
Moment of silence for the expos in 1994
:(
2001 was the best because they dethroned the Yankees from a 4-peat!!
2004 man, 2004. What a year
Just a couple tidbits of useless information on some things I noticed.
Most are the Yankees
Great post
I'm a Doyer fan but I really liked the 96 Yankees one. God, I HATED the Braves back then. Angels was another for beating the Giants but, was negated 8 years later. 2003 Marlins because I got sick of the Yankees winning.
I never knew until now that a fan ran on the field when Atlanta won in 95.
行き来!再び!ヤンキースは26回目のワールドシリーズで優勝しました!
The 1990 one makes it seem like 1970 because they used the radio call haha
Thank God this video used Marty's radio call rather than Jack Buck and Tim Macarvers TV call
It's to see the 1990 Cincinnati Reds recognized
It’s a shame because we all know the Expos would’ve had it in 1994 :/
As a Yankee fan we are in 7 of these amazing shit that 2001 still hurts lol
FRESHALEX760 that 1999 still hurts
MANNY FRESH can’t be too sad, you’ve won 27 lol
Caryn Burke I couldn’t sleep
2001 greatest World Series of all time straight up go dbacks
Go D-Backs!
1993 hurt 😢. I thought for sure my White Sox had enough to win it all that year. Our starting pitching was no joke
The first one is my favorite!
Joe Buck is the voice of a generation I hope he announces my Braves winning it sometime soon...3 series clinching hits in the 90's wow
👍🏻👍🏻
so...
