  • Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen our next stop will be your first look at the Wiesbaden - Hainerberg Post Exchange Shopping Center, please remember all your belongings before exiting the bus.
Welcome to US army Garrison Wiesbaden. Although there are several bases that make up this garrison, The PX can be found on Hainerberg.
Inside this exchange store you’ll find the USO, where you can learn some practical German, other typical services include community bank, a barber shop, rental cars and military auto source.
Keep in mind, services inside the PX are seasonal and always changing, so take advantage of what’s available on the floor when you get there. One thing that doesn’t change, good ol’ American fast food like Burger King, Popeyes, Charley’s, Taco Bell, and Starbucks.
    Wiesbaden USO: wiesbaden.uso....
    Who can shop here? www.aafes.com/...
This is actually a good size PX, if you’re just arriving you’ll be happy to find a furniture store, Power zone, outdoor living, clothing, shoes and apparel, health and fitness, groceries, this is basically your one stop shop for all your household needs.
If you’re stationed here, there’s a pretty good selection of all your American fixes, but if you want to get supersized, just head to the BX Mall in Ramstein 1.5hrs away.
    Ramstein Super BX: • Ramstein BX/PX - KMCC ...
There’s also quite a few German stores 10mins away in the beautiful downtown city of Wiesbaden.
A big thanks to the friendly spouse who showed me around today, if you’re looking for more PCS prep content, subscribe to the channel and I’ll catch you in the next one!

Just got back from visiting our son. Kind of mind blowing for us being in the heart of Germany, but it was very comforting to visit the base - an American small town. Love the PX, the comissary, and the gas station. Felt right at home.

I don't know why I was shocked to see a video on youtube about the exchange. I love Ramstien Exchange the most it has much more to offer in one location, but thanks for creating the good content

Still remember the old PX. Had to take the Green Mercedes bus from Mccully to Wiesbaden if you wanted to go to a "large" PX. This was before there ever was a "Power Zone" at Mainz Kastel.

They changed the location. It's not in the same place you are thinking of. It's technically in the housing area now, not that little shopping area with the movie theater.

Hey, I have a question, I'm curious from hearing from military people or Germans. I was wondering, how do the German people think about US bases? Do they not like the American soldiers there? Do you as US soldiers experience any prejudice/discrimination out there? Does the German government want the US military out? This is purely out of curiosity, nothing political, and I would like to hear your/people's experience of living on a base/living near a base regarding these issues.

Are dependents/ spouses to AD service members allowed to work remotely for U.S companies while being stationed there?

    • @DTVDanielTelevision
      @DTVDanielTelevision  Год назад +1

Yes! I know folks who do this. Sometimes taxes are an issue, but you can definitely work remotely, I’d actually encourage it if your company allows you to do so.

Hello, you’ll want to contact the installation DEERS office at the base location in Germany you wish to enter. Some locations require different documents, but at a minimum you’ll need: Commissary letter (also called VA letter), DD 214 member-4, and two forms of ID. I’m not sure about bringing your other family members as guests with you, but I’m sure the DEERS office can answer that for you 👍🏽

    • @DTVDanielTelevision

Hello there! So there's two ways to do this. 1) Have someone else with an ID card sponsor you on base and buy things for you 2) Buy it yourself through a military "pink card." You'll need to get a veteran ID card and you must turn in your receipts to German customs. This article explains the program in greater detail: www.army.mil/article/231799/eligible_veterans_authorized_post_access_shopping_privileges_in_germany
