I like quite a few of their songs and they're a great band, but personally they're not completely my taste and there are other bands I much prefer. I also feel like they're one of the few most recognizable bands that youths nowadays know of, which is honestly sad. There's more to rock than just Kiss or Nirvana, etc, which is where I can see that they are "overrated". But rather I just think that they overshadow other bands in terms of pop culture legacy, I guess? Kind of like how Nirvana or AC/DC are one of the few recognized bands today in recent pop culture just because they were more big, "eccentric" and even polemic back in their day. And even then, kids just buy shirts with their logos because they're "vintage" or retro I guess. Not necessarily because their music is still trendy...
