- We have some older commanders back in action. Or 2 at least. In the cedh battle we have gitog monster and tymna and thrasios hermit druid. But we also have some new stuff as well. Ikra and Kraum and malcom kediss.

Dan would have also been able to activate Glint again and continue the loop with the removal on the stack if he got enough mana before discarding removal too. He definitely could have won there. Malcolm Glint is such a nasty good combo.
also with Curiosity on glinthorn he could do 1x Activation Mainphase, and move to cleanup - now glinthorn nets 3x Treasures should guarentee he has enough castable counterspells. to beat 2x a free spell from dauthi
You're right Mons, it was a huge missplay. He should have put the curiosity on the glint horn and just went for it, he could draw first then have a bigger selection of what to discard and by the time you guys could interact with dauthi he's accumulated enough mana and counter spells to null their effects. I think he got mind gamed out of that one by Pontus to be honest lol.

Im gonna convert my Nin deck to try it. Super excited to finally run Storm the Vault so i can play with Tolarian Academy! I’m also gonna throw in an OLD combo of Horseshoe Crab/Hermetic Study. It’s probably too slow, but if i can turn into a pirate........😉
Also, wondering if brain freeze was considered to go with Underworld Breach?
Whenever I want to try out a new CEDH deck, I simply look for your videos as they are some of the most informative. In this case, I was looking for Malcom & Kediss decks being piloted so having your additional commentary pointing out misplays, etc. are so valuable. Highly appreciate this 'old' content!

Dan should have gone for his glint horn combo.
Because he can not only decide what he discards and avoid to give mons and gus removal, he could also, after he created some extra treasures, simply activate glint horn above any removal that hits the stack so that his opponents die before the removal ever resolves

Could there be a line where Dan would save his USZ to try to kill you when you start looping to draw the whole deck? In response to a shuffle effect? Another question, wasn't Ranger Captain of Eos exiled to your Dauthi Voidwalker? And you could have maybe used that to get your Imp, and also silence the table? :)

With the Gitrog loop, there is a non zero chance that if one Titan is removed and as you are dredging, the remaining titan is the last card in your deck and you can't activate dakmor salvages dredge ability because it requires exactly two cards. Technically this could have been argued to prevent you from winning

EDIT: I checked the list, and he is not running blessing.
This could be a problem if he were comboing in the end step by repeatedly discarding to hand size. But he had a discard outlet. So if the last titan were his last card, he would just draw it normally and discard it to Putrid Imp in response to the remaining Gitrog triggers.

Sorry for Dan's missplay, but this is how magic works sometimes 😅. I love Gitrog, i have a cedh budget version but its hard to pilot and also the hate to the commander, my friends know the deck and kill Gitrog at the first chance 😅
Also why not put the curiosity in glint horn as well? so probably draw enough interaction in the meantime as well?
Fear of running out of cards is not an issue since it's a may ability after all.

How did pontus cast an esper sentinel with a tropical island?
It looks like he has a Tundra out as well. Tapped both Tundra and Hierarch to cast Tymna and Sentinel.
How was Voidwalker preventing Dan from combining off? If Mons tried to respond with removal, could the excess treasure be used to just keep comboing off in response?
Yeap… end of combat phase (after damage) he gets 2 treasures, and activates glinty(discarding possible 2-3 non removal cards) this allow him to activate in response to a removal

Your deck still absolutely crushed it, it’s way easier to see these things in hindsight or when watching a video than it is when actually playing.
Think you just got flustered , especially when you misplay into webcam it continues a chain of bad plays sometimes. Overall the deck did what it was supposed to do
