    Only found this channel this week and it's great. I have been thinking about the golf swing wrong my entire life. I always believed you must shift your weight, come back straight on the takeaway, raise the arms vertically, turn my shoulders against my hips and about a million more swing thoughts that guarantee I play badly. My body is probably wondering if I'll ever stop telling it to do stupid things! Glad i found "Hathaway plays golf"

    This video came to my feed in a timely fashion... I was beginning to try to understand how the hips get in front of the ball while the rest of the body stays in place. It never occurred to me that I need to change my posture to make that happen! I thought that I needed to be super-flexy! Thanks for clearing that up for me!

    Thank you Rob, you are doing a fantastic work with these videos. I've been practicing the finish position (shortened finish, vertical club + hips stucked) and it make wonders to the contact quality and ball compression. Unbelievable that facts that take place well after impact, affects it so much. Misteries of golf, thanks again

    Rob, a truly excellent series on Stack & Tilt. I am a 61 year old determined to crack the game of golf!! Just one question. I am going to now try and adopt the Stack and Tilt system. How should I prioritize the 6 pairings of words? I don't want to flood my brain full of too many swing thoughts! Which 2 or 3 would get me to an 18 handicap? Thanks again! Mark

    • @robcheneygolf1
      @robcheneygolf1  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Mark! Weight Forward and Arms Straight are my Top 4. Shoulder Down would be next. And you can certainly Flare Feet 👣 as that’s a simple set-up adjustment.

    Rob, thank you for this excellent work. I have played golf for 40 years working with many teachers, and your approach including the S and T method is a real advancement of learning in this sport.
    The only question/concern I have is the "hands In" segment. I have had to work very hard to correct rolling my wrists in the backswing with success, and am concerned your approach may confuse some golfers. I am not clear on it myself. I understand the importance of depth in the backswirm. You have other videos discussing the take-away and might consider revisiting this very crucial topic that Leadbetter himself believes is the main key for a good swing.

    Id like to see a S&T swing on force plates. Rob, say i start with 65% weight on lead side. During the backswing would there some force transferred to the rear foot, if only for a very short time. Im still thinking staying centered as in setup but seems like there would be a breif pressure spike in the trail foot.

    • @robcheneygolf1
      @robcheneygolf1  9 месяцев назад

      Yes, it's likely you'd see a small *pressure* shift from P1-P2/P3 (mid backswing), but you can still keep the *weight* on the front.

    Hey Rob. Longtime follower of your content. Love the videos. I have limited capabilities in my shoulders and hips and don't really have the flexibility to turn and rotate properly. Would you suggest any modifications to your teachings for someone like me or follow the lesson plans as normal? Thanks a lot.

      @@robcheneygolf1 I have a love that drill. Since I have a ton of arthritis in both hips, I sometimes find it hard rotating and didn't know if you had any suggestions that were different than your videos you've shared. I've seen most, if not all, of your videos many times over and really appreciate you showing the world how all HC golfers should swing the club. I converted over when my son started working at a Golftec here in the states a couple of years ago and I'll never go back to a "conventional" swing. Thanks again.

    Trivial question-at the top of your backswing, when you want to start your hip slide. Do you push off the lead foot, or the trail? I can rotate the hips using the lead foot as the “motor”, but sliding forward is difficult if I have 70% of my weight on the lead foot.

    • @robcheneygolf1
      @robcheneygolf1  10 месяцев назад +3

      It's a good question. If you have 70% of your weight on your left foot at the top of the backswing, there will be slightly less hip slide and more extension (pushing up). I would say the left leg drives this movement.

    Just my thoughts, but I prefer the term 'push hips'. To me tuck me moves back. Probably just a me thing, but thats what I will be thinking is pushing them out
