She is so cute! I think you did a great job for your first time. I would've loved to see pink somewhere else in here design because now her hair seems out of place. I would LOVE to see you do another doll customization in the future, including a face-up and reroot. BE BRAVE, JACKIE!
My parents never did that “gendered toy” bs, so I played with toy cars and stuffed animals and anything that caught my fancy that we could afford. The stuffed animals I love to this day even as an adult grain cause they are soft and comforting. Also that doll is still adorable and I like the Fae vibe it has now.
Jackie: “what did you play with as a small grain?” Me: I'd give all my dolls to my younger sisters and keep the furniture. I used my toy cars with the furniture, tuck them into bed, sit them at the table and what not... then I'd race them through obstacle courses! XD

I think you did pretty good for a first try! The horns had me worried for a bit, but they came out awesome! One thing I can say is that you should also use a primer on the accessories, or at the very least scuff them up with sandpaper so the paint sticks better. I think the plastic had a glossy finish on the whisk handle, and that's most likely why the paint kept scratching off. (And yes, the shoes need room to stretch to accommodate the feetsies being pushed in, so encasing them in apoxie wasn't the best idea.) As for the braids, that's a good solution to keep them braided. If you wanted them removable, *then* you could use tiny hair elastics (I found mine at the dollar store in the hair section where I live and they come in all kinds of colors and in packs of 100 usually) if you're having trouble finding them), but I don't think you're going to be changing the hair any time soon on this doll, so the glue/ribbon method is totally fine! Great job again, and I'd love to see you continue to do customs in the future! Even if they're not doll customs. (I've done some easy custom Littlest Pet Shop figures that came out very well personally, and there's tons of little figures like that that are fun small projects you could do as well!)
My brother and I shared toys. So I played gijoe and tmnt while he played barbies and dolls. We usually ended up mixing everything together but we had fun. My mom and dad never placed the idea of gender roles in our playtimes.
I remember getting a Barbie doll when I was little. She was a veterinarian and I never played with her, or maybe once. I just wanted the animals she came with. I'm pretty sure she was a gift from one of my grandparents (they likely figured "our granddaughter loves animals so get her this Barbie that works with animals" not knowing I didn't care too much about dolls anyway) so I'm not too worried about having asked my parents for her just for the animals.
Jackie: tell me what toys you played with when you were little despite what people said. Me: what toys?! I played with cardboard boxes! No joke there still So fun for play with... When you are very VERY creative
Oh god! I did that as well... I even had a favourite box! And it's not like I didn't have other toys ether... Tons of plushies mostly cause I love those as well.... (I now collect plushies and pillows.)
I made a shoebox house. I used my figurines in it and used to get sad if I ever broke it slightly. A little glue and a unimpressed family member later and I would back at it
I had a few baby dolls and a good amount of Barbies, but they were rarely played with. I was more of a stuffed animal lover and still am! I grew up collecting Beanie Babies. My brother and I also played a lot with plastic animals and Legos. I especially loved our numerous Lego dragons. So many fun adventures we had with our toys!
Jackie: I didn’t play with dolls because I was told girl should play with dolls Me: So Jackie was BORN with the salt 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 P.S. the doll looked good at the end and I don’t like dolls
Hot wheels, stuffed animals. I used to make little “families” of stuffies that were roughly the same colour. I just liked things that rolled. I did play with barbies, though. I had a huge doll house. At my grandmas, I would get a bowl of water and pour various dish soaps and spices together. I called those potions. I would try to convince my poor nans to drink these -_-.
Jackie most doll customizers use armature wire for things like horns. That way you can bend it into the exact shape that you want it to be in and then you can add the epoxy sculpt on top
When I was little my brother really liked cars and I really liked playing dollhouse and "house" so we would bring all of my dollhouses into his room and we would use his matchbox cars as people 😂 we had mom cars and dad cars and what not.
Amy Monkey Toy Story cut scenes? 😂 I would love someone to animate this comment in the style of Toy Story Disney. Just an animated Jackie and this cute oblivious doll 😂🤣
This actually makes me way more confident in trying my hand at doll customizing! I mod dungeons and dragons minis when the need arises but I want to try something on a bigger scale! It's really more encouraging seeing an amateur do it, than a pro

Jackie: “what did you play with as a small grain?” Was given dolls and other cutesy things. They usually got "lost" Grew up with pokemon I'm 20 and still obsessed with pokemon
Yup. Except that rule of "don't run with scissors" hasn't ever applied to me... I started using a knife when I was 8 to peel potatoes and I was using grown scissors when I was 2. Lol
when I was a very young grain, I played with my sister’s Barbies in different dollhouses & playset environments. Then I had Ben 10 & Pokémon toys. A decade later, I’m back to collecting dolls 😁
Mee too, one time we found small wooden branches, wrapped them in scarfs which we secured with hair-bands and pretended they are dolls, they had names, ext. It was a great time, I felt like some ancient kid who only had these as toys
When I was small, I played with almost anything I could get my hands on. When I was 2, I actually "stole" my older brother's 6-foot long stuffed snake toy because he didn't have any interest in it. My aunt, who made it for him, tried to get me to trade for a doll, but I wouldn't give up "Taffy" and just added "Suzy" to my troupe. I'm pretty sure I still have Suzy around somewhere but Taffy went to that great rainforest in the sky when my mom couldn't get him clean anymore (stinky) and his fabric began to fall apart. In the end, he probably had more patches than original material. *sniff* I may have to try to recreate Taffy someday. Good thing I love sewing and textiles (sorry you don't, Jackie!)
I enjoyed playing with dolls and “girl” toys as a kid, but I also loved watching Ninja Turtles, Batman, Spider-man, and other shows that girls are not supposed to like too. Oops! 😜
crystalfire294 biggest flex of first grade was playing the Justice League game on this website and being the only kid let alone a girl that could play through the game on a short notice, I remember playing as Green Arrow and kids screaming in the back as I beat a boss
Love watching Jackie try new things💖 the accessories and clothes remind me of a snack/juice bar on the coast in summer. I got candyland vibes and thought cotton candy princess.
When Jackie didn't notice that she was the Delightful DeeDee or should I say Dollightful DeeDee 😂 this doll was destined to be customised in this video.
One thing I love about dollightful is that she frames her videos like they are tutorials and that really helps people who are just getting into doll customization! 😊
I used to play on my classical Minecraft circl classical I used to play wit big kids I played with Peppa pig I used to play with that I used to have the house I used to have the car to know where they've gone
Adorable custom! I’d still love to see a face up & reroot video from you. PS I had an issue with that particular rerooting tool where the needle would get pushed up inside. Putting the needle in an X-acto blade (I suspect you have a few of those 😉) actually worked sooooo much better!
While definitely having a similar look, the shoes were not Mary Jane's. Mary Janes have a strap over the top of the foot (usually closer to the ankle) that still attaches to the bottom. The shoes they had were just normal flats with a detached ribbon with a bow tied around the ankle. Unless, unbeknownst to me, they changed the style of a Mary Jane since I was little.
I had rubber mice (i think they might have been cat toys XD) and i played with them in a littlest pet shop hosptial. They all had names and personalities and an ongoing storyline. I was a weird kid
my mom didn't buy me many toys (said creativity was superior) and so I used pipe cleaners and sharpies to make worms. I remember Toya bc she was made when I wanted a new toy but my mom didn't get me it XD
I don’t know why but when you said “baking outside” I instantly thought of that Phineas and ferb episode when doofenshmirtz was baking peached cobbler at a crab bake cause it was the only thing he was good at 😭🤣🤣
WHEN I TELL YOU I CLICKED THIS SO DANG FAST I love Jackie. I love Dollightful. YES. YES. I've wanted to get into doll customizing but about 1 doll in and my kids wrecked my supplies and I haven't had the heart to replace them... 😭😭 Can't wait to see how your's comes out! ~Raven
What Jackie thought our reactions would be when she waves a sharp thing at us: *crying and cowering* What our reactions have become: yass queen wave that knife at meeeeee
Her original dress isn’t very nice honestly, but I feel like her visor could’ve worked so well with either a summer outfit or like a tennis theme or something (replace the whisk with a tennis racket). But I love the hair, skin tone and even face as well
I’m 20 and I still buy calico critters 🤷♀️ I asked for them for my birthday and Christmas and every time I go to Walmart, I scope out the toy aisle for them. No shame! Hahaha
Isn’t it weird how much packaging there is? They make it seem like every individual item is a surprise, but every doll has its own set of items... so why not just package it all together?
Hi Jackie, I watch you whole video and what a wonderful job! Congratulations! I would love to see you doll make over with hair re-rooting. On the video you said if you got 40,000 likes you would try it. As of today you have 74,000, again congratulations on the level of likes! Are you going to do a video make a custom doll with re-rooting the hair?
As a newbie myself, start with a junker doll that can't be any worse. Then go slow, start by understanding your materials. If you know yarn start by doing the reroot. If you know paint, start with the body and the face up. (Make sure you have a way to seal it first.) If you know sewing start with the clothes. Then start learning the thing you think will be hardest. Don't think you have to do the biggest, most complicated custom right away. P.S. Start with a doll with removable limbs, it really helps
When I was little I would attempt to play with dolls because my parents would get them form me but would just take off their clothes, throw them in the corner, and play with my toy animals instead. I had a doll house... I would play with toy animals in it instead lmao. I would also really like to make the doll clothes into scarves for the animals or make the animals beat up the dolls... yeah XD
My grandmother only had girl children, my resulting aunts only had boys. So there's me, with only boy cousins and a grandma who wanted to spoil me as the only granddaughter. My wild child self didn't want to be stuffed in dresses and told I couldn't climb trees and stand on my head like a my cousins. She also got me a doll every Christmas. She gave up when I was about seven and usually got me books after that (yay!). But all my boy cousins have only had girl children so now my grandma has many girl great grandkids who are happy to be spoiled. As for my favorite toy when I was a kid, it was this rubbery Godzilla hand puppet. I cut a hole at the back of it's mouth so it could actually swallow all my smaller toys. Rampaging Godzilla!!!!
God, I hate the “Girls don’t like boy-ish things and they have to love dolls and the color pink and dress up and etc!!!” Stereotype. It made me feel really confused as a kid but... I still loved dolls. I hated Barbie because she was too pink but monster high was my jam and now I’m realizing I probably had a crush on a few girl characters in monster high. But seriously though, I hated myself for a while because I didn’t fit into boy stereotypes where I loved cars and action figures but I still hated things like Barbie and makeup. But I’ve found a happy medium and I love doll customizing because it’s not just for boys or for girls, it’s for anyone who is creative enough to want to make something amazing with their doll, beginner or professional. Edit: I have some comments that are saying stuff like “I like girly stuff or barbies and stuff does that mean I’m annoying or something?” No, anyone can like anything and I’m just claiming that people in my life have tried to put me in stereotypes that don’t fit me and that anyone can like anything no matter what stereotypes exist. If you’re a girl or boy (or any genders in between) who likes make up, then go at it! Look like a queen! If you’re happy doing what you love and its not hurting anyone, then continue doing it.
I played with dolls a lot, actually. Dolls, LPS (still love their community, it's amazing), and kinda anything I could get my hands on. I painted and sculpted from a young age, but I've never in my life have done a re-root or face-up. I want to, I just don't have the materials lol. Your doll is super cute! I can't really throw out a name good enough right now (just woke up), but Fauna maybe? Also, Congrats on 48k likes! did you expect it or did we pull out the rug from under you?
Littlest pet shops were my whole world, I actually found a stop motion movie I made on my Ds. I have no idea whats going on in it but It looked pretty intense XD.
When I was a kid I didn't really like toys. I mean, I liked playing with them, but never really wanted to own some. My mom used to take me to Toys R Us, I played with everything, and when she asked me what I wanted, I said "nothing, let's go"... I was, and still am, weird.
I was into boys toys too when I was younger I was told dolls were for girls and I was a tomboy so no girls toys for me. I was into transformers and zoidz. I got into doll customizing with dollightful and that's how I found this page was through her! Keep up the great videos!!!!
Jackie: tell me what you played with" Me: I played with sticks, tree branches, cardboard boxes and snakes(yes some were big, like python size....) I was a weird kid!! Holy carp 175 likes and Jackie liked, I'm dying..😆😭😛 thank you so much!

Paradoxical Intention wow you really know your stuff :)
Wow that's a long comment
Why so long🤔

Omg that is SO AWESOME for a first time, I have never done a doll customization, but now I am even more eager to try!
My brother and I shared toys. So I played gijoe and tmnt while he played barbies and dolls. We usually ended up mixing everything together but we had fun. My mom and dad never placed the idea of gender roles in our playtimes.
Oh oh while I have your attention have you ever tried the homemade polymer clay and does it work???
I remember getting a Barbie doll when I was little. She was a veterinarian and I never played with her, or maybe once. I just wanted the animals she came with. I'm pretty sure she was a gift from one of my grandparents (they likely figured "our granddaughter loves animals so get her this Barbie that works with animals" not knowing I didn't care too much about dolls anyway) so I'm not too worried about having asked my parents for her just for the animals.
I GOT THAT SAME BARBIE YEARS AGO!!! ...and ... i did the same thing cuz i love animals XD
Dovewing's eyes are green I agree with your name.
A little glue and a unimpressed family member later and I would back at it
I made a bag for my poop colored clay family the baby is blue my toys are woster then poop
JIN OOFLES Literally SAME
Same, I loved playing in boxes, I still would if I found a box big enough
I had a few baby dolls and a good amount of Barbies, but they were rarely played with. I was more of a stuffed animal lover and still am! I grew up collecting Beanie Babies. My brother and I also played a lot with plastic animals and Legos. I especially loved our numerous Lego dragons. So many fun adventures we had with our toys!
Jackie:
I didn’t play with dolls because I was told girl should play with dolls
Me:
So Jackie was BORN with the salt

P.S. the doll looked good at the end and I don’t like dolls
i have a fear of dolls oop-
DUHH (no offence) she is the ultimate grain!!
Kitty Cat King I was wounded that to
They look so gross and I hated dolls
Same gurl NO dolls ALAOWD corekt me im sweden
Hot wheels, stuffed animals. I used to make little “families” of stuffies that were roughly the same colour. I just liked things that rolled. I did play with barbies, though. I had a huge doll house. At my grandmas, I would get a bowl of water and pour various dish soaps and spices together. I called those potions. I would try to convince my poor nans to drink these -_-.
I did that before to
same lol
I did that but with glue, soup, crayons, and playdough
NerdeParents : * buys doll *
NerdeChild : hey *snaps* sisters
Not too shabby for a first attempt. Can't wait to see a full custom!
I played with strawberry stortcakes, dinosaurs, and did a lot of drawing and reading. Oh, and also played with pencils and erasers as people.
Same espially the pencil and eraser one i do it all the time bc my dolls were broken bc my guesys broke my dolls
That reminds me of lelo with her pickle jar
I just played with the pencils.😄
Same but I played with my fingers
@@rainbowkittycorns1616 nice😏
Jackie most doll customizers use armature wire for things like horns. That way you can bend it into the exact shape that you want it to be in and then you can add the epoxy sculpt on top
When I was little my brother really liked cars and I really liked playing dollhouse and "house" so we would bring all of my dollhouses into his room and we would use his matchbox cars as people 😂 we had mom cars and dad cars and what not.
Cassidy 😂
Wow that's an amazing compromise!! And that just plain cute

You did a great job!
When you said “Oh that’s a big one,” and didn’t follow it up with “THATS WHAT SHE SA--“ made me wonder if you were ok lol. 😂😂

Absolutely adorable makeover! She's way cuter now.

Welcome to the cult
This actually makes me way more confident in trying my hand at doll customizing! I mod dungeons and dragons minis when the need arises but I want to try something on a bigger scale! It's really more encouraging seeing an amateur do it, than a pro

Yup. Except that rule of "don't run with scissors" hasn't ever applied to me... I started using a knife when I was 8 to peel potatoes and I was using grown scissors when I was 2. Lol

I love how Jackie mentioned Dollightfull and the dolls name is " Delightful Dee Dee " Love that 😍😍
when I was a very young grain, I played with my sister’s Barbies in different dollhouses & playset environments.
Then I had Ben 10 & Pokémon toys.
A decade later, I’m back to collecting dolls 😁
i would play with anything as a kid, even sticks, gave the personality and everything
Mee too, one time we found small wooden branches, wrapped them in scarfs which we secured with hair-bands and pretended they are dolls, they had names, ext. It was a great time, I felt like some ancient kid who only had these as toys
I used sticks as weapons in games and was kicked out when they weren't my friends.
Same
me too
When I was small, I played with almost anything I could get my hands on.
Oops! 😜
crystalfire294 Same!
crystalfire294 biggest flex of first grade was playing the Justice League game on this website and being the only kid let alone a girl that could play through the game on a short notice, I remember playing as Green Arrow and kids screaming in the back as I beat a boss
I took my sisters dolls and took der heads off and i would hand dem ind he room
Like whatever you want to like
Lol same I loved ninja turtles I made my parents buy all the movies...then I got into Harry Potter

I was thinking the same thing xD

The shoes are “flats” or Mary Janes with a ribbon tied around her ankles. It’s a trend in the USA. Look up butter bean cafe for more reference.
Kelly Buzzard I ways thinking the exact same thing
While definitely having a similar look, the shoes were not Mary Jane's. Mary Janes have a strap over the top of the foot (usually closer to the ankle) that still attaches to the bottom. The shoes they had were just normal flats with a detached ribbon with a bow tied around the ankle.
Unless, unbeknownst to me, they changed the style of a Mary Jane since I was little.
Mary Jane's definatly were a trend, but now the most common thing to wear for a large portion of the year is sneakers
Jessica Vetter does it really matter

Her original dress isn’t very nice honestly, but I feel like her visor could’ve worked so well with either a summer outfit or like a tennis theme or something (replace the whisk with a tennis racket). But I love the hair, skin tone and even face as well
That doll is a cute concept. Like an advent calendar. I have never seen one before.
I’m 20 and I still buy calico critters 🤷♀️ I asked for them for my birthday and Christmas and every time I go to Walmart, I scope out the toy aisle for them. No shame! Hahaha
Atlas N. ah me too they’re so cute
Isn’t it weird how much packaging there is? They make it seem like every individual item is a surprise, but every doll has its own set of items... so why not just package it all together?
It's for the smol children who like to get HyPeD with every package. 😂
So much plastic but at least the container thing can be reusable and I think it’s cardboard (unlike the LoL dolls

RIP poor dolls
reason why:
is because Jackie removed the head-
kat does it too-
@@thehyperhusky5323 oof yeah I forgot XD
Instead of sewing, you could use a product called "wonder under", it is a fabric that fuses other fabrics together using the iron.
That is SO cute! ❤️ I think you should do this more often.
When I was little I would attempt to play with dolls because my parents would get them form me but would just take off their clothes, throw them in the corner, and play with my toy animals instead. I had a doll house... I would play with toy animals in it instead lmao. I would also really like to make the doll clothes into scarves for the animals or make the animals beat up the dolls... yeah XD

I put my dolls inside a closet and never played with them
We’re the animal toys lps?
Jackie: "Every time my parents get me a doll i cut their heads off"
Me: *hides in the closet and cheks the locks*
Oh and Bionicles. I had a whole collection of the round evil ones
Haha that last part is funny
Always played with dolls as a little boy and now I collect them 🥰
God, I hate the “Girls don’t like boy-ish things and they have to love dolls and the color pink and dress up and etc!!!” Stereotype.
I agree I hate dolls and pink to spoiled
I hate dolls and girly stuff even though I’m a girl I’m a Tom-boy

When I was a kid I didn't really like toys. I mean, I liked playing with them, but never really wanted to own some. My mom used to take me to Toys R Us, I played with everything, and when she asked me what I wanted, I said "nothing, let's go"... I was, and still am, weird.
