The older generation councilors have alot to answer for. Wholesale destruction of the city centre. Should have had proper sit in to stop them destroying the old kirkgate market.

criminal act pulling old kirkgate market down. It was a back hander that brought it down.

Fascinating. It's almost unimaginable that those beautiful buildings were in the centre of Bradford so long ago.

My friend lived in the houses that back onto peel Park above the pond and could exit his garden into peel Park but as a kid we would play in the caves situated in the Cliffe near the gate

This was not the first Manor House in Bradford. The Rawson family came after the previous Lord of the Manor was embezzled by his Factor the original name for an accountant. The resulting court case bankrupted the estate and it had to be sold. The original Manor House was on Westgate where the tower block opposite Morrisons is.
My ancestor John Marsden bought the Manor of Bradford off the Church in 1660 and the family held it until the late 1700s.

It needs a plaque to show people the Doorways origins. It's a pity the Council did not retain the wrought iron, ornate gates when Kirkgate Market was demolished.

The market gates are in the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron in Ironbridge. IIRC that's where they were made.

Just viewed this brilliant video. Was born and bred in Bradford 72 years ago, so remember the old market. Married in 1975 lived at Ashbourne Ave so walked around the park many a time. What an absolutely fascinating video. Please keep up the videos and many thanks.

The shambles mentioned would be not just a market but where animals were brought for slaughter. Hence the words being used for a disorganised place. There were complaints about the blood and gore. The Manor House was called Darley Hall.

Imtiaz spoke about the side bricks of the doorway.
I think the side bricks on both sides of the doorway now in peel Park would have been part of the original Manor, they look very similar from the original pictures of the Manor. If you take a look and compare they have kept the side bricks the same from the Manor and the way the bricks have been put together on the doorway in peel Park.

Your channel is good but I'm replying to another of your videos about the grave of Patricia Atkinson well we went to it yesterday and there is a headstone there now with inscriptions on it and the original cross is just lying on the ground in front of it minus the ornaments that used to be on the floor before,is helen rytkas near by there?also if you had gone round the side entrance of her home in oak avenue you would have been able to get right into her flat in no3,as someone else has it on their subscription, as the front entrance was boarded up so they got in through the side way and then inside the block went downstairs and got into her flat no3.she had only moved in there 10 days before she was killed

Hello, thanks for going to the grave of Patricia.
That's really good news that there is a headstone now.
I wonder who put it there?
Infact, I will take a visit myself soon and have a look.
Thanks for direction of her flat.
Helens grave is in another area. Just go on Birksfold entrance gate , off Cemetery Road and it's in that area.
You're best bet is to watch my video on Helen, clearer directions on there.
      Thank you.

This is me again about Patricia's grave,we did get to her grave through your directions on your video and we have heard how you explain how to get to her on your video of her but if we go in at the part where we went in yesterday would we still get to it from the part where Patricia's grave is cos we dont know the cemetery road part, also she was married at one time and had 3 children and the marriage broke down and the husband got custody of the children, she had only been in there 10 days before she was mudered,I'm assuming it's one of her children that's looking after it I think, she would be 78 now,I think she must have been 33 when she was killed, and is there anymore of the ripper victims buried in there.
