I remember when 9/11 happened there was a book of condolences that people could sign in the grand entrance. You could still enter through the main stairs at the front then. I couldn’t resist going in to have a nosey!

Than you for this. I have been over every inch of this building carrying out a measured survey when I worked for the Council. Brings back many memories memories. I was lucky enough to go to the top of the clock tower just before my retirement.
