Loved this sound, especially during movie marathons. Everyone would be doing shit getting popcorn or chatting and whatever, but when we hear this instantly everyone shuts up and stops screwing around. THX be like "Sit your ass down. It's movie time, Bitches"
Sent shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time. Good bye everybody, I've got to go. Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth. Mamaaaa oooh, I don't wanna die, I've sometimes wished I've never been born at allll
This noise used to scare the living shit out of me. My dad would scare me with it by turning the volume of the tv up to max whenever it played before a movie, and needless to say, i would have nightmares about it later that night.
One day, when I was a kid, I went and played around with the volume potentiometer on me dad's Hi-Fi system... Needless to say that when I finally found the power button and pressed it, this shit blasted at MAXIMUM VOLUME and I felt like the Four Horsemen were coming to get me at that instant moment. Since then I shiver whenever I hear this shit.
I liked this since I was a kid too. But then again, I was also scared of the Tristar logo where Pegasus slowly comes at you from the darkness. It would make want to run away.
you're performing Sound Checks on your Equipment and have no reason to? Thats one of the conditions of 'Audiophileitis'; there is no cure... the only Treatment is a loud 5.1/7.1 Surround Sound System, and a Desire to piss off the Neighborhood.. xD LMAO

THX gave me nightmares. (Yes, the sentence that involves fourty three words was absolutely necessary- just as much as counting the words in it)

Because of my Dad anytime we watched a movie with THX in it I've had six sleep paralysis moments where it'd be the THX logo slowly getting closer to me as the sound became more and more violently louder. Not going to lie, when I was nine I had my first paralysis moment with the THX logo and it scared me so bad I pissed the fucking bed.
When I was 12 I burned a CD with just the THX intro sound to play in my mom's car, but also The Goldeneye 64 theme as a bonus track as I didn't want to be wasteful with our blank CDs
I can't hear a thing in my turtle beach headsets, does anyone know why? I'm pretty sure they use dolby digital surround sound and I still can't hear any of these tests. I even have the DSS processor with the optical cable plugged in, I don't know what's going on.

I love the original THX trailer. Simple, but so impactful. Hearing the sound starting out from all around you before the creshendo swells... chills.
I 100% agree but..
It's spelled crescendo. :)
I think this sounds epic! Dunno why everyone was so scared of this as a kid. I actually thought it was cool. Still do. :D Goosebumps!

It starts off with Giygas then becomes THX.
