I can't thank you enough for this video, Mr. White. It hit me on a day, at a time of the day, and a time of this quarantine where I needed it more than just about anything else. My adult ADHD is my greatest gift as well as my greatest daily challenge and these tips, barring I stick and commit to them, will truly help reclaim so much lost time I know I want back. I take so much solidarity in knowing that I am not alone in this and so many others struggle in the same ways. I have come to realize that it's ok to struggle and to just be more kind to myself, which isn't always easy. Thanks again.
I struggle with ADHD and my work recently decided to mandate us back to the office. It has completely wrecked me and I am struggling to get anything done. The office environment really overwhelms me with all the distractions of others talking, walking by, and pulling me into other directions. Thank you for the great strategies to help focus and get things done. This will help me as I am trying to adjust.
Not pressuring myself, being relaxed, avoiding fear, not trying to make myself feel or not feel a certain way: these things seem to help me with not putting things off, as another tip(s).
Getting away from any distraction is a critical role, when I try to read in my room it's a bit hard since there's a lot of pausing, but when I read in the bathroom I find myself into the book and I don't even realize the time and it's even better when the topic is fun, it's amazing for a guy who has been struggling with GAD for years. Thank you, I really appreciate your efforts.
This is probably the best video ob ADD I have ever watched. My mind feels like it is on steroids sometimes. I did learn somethings from the video. I find sometimes struggling to stay focused. I see myself having distractions. One thing I also have been doing is timing myself for projects that I need to get done. I will set a timer for 15 minutes and I will work on one project at a time. Sometimes I'm working on three or four projects at a time and I never accomplish anything. So I recognize that I need to slow down. Another thing is I need to be organized. Do you think your course would help me? Thank you and God bless you.
I truly enjoy the Black Belted course is a course that has helped me through out my carrier as an Actor. One of the reasons I like it so much is that I can do it at my own pace and see the results immediately.
You should put those list items in brightly colored sticky notes and crumple them thoroughly as you finish. Then throw them in a glass jar. Also pay attention to what times of the day works best for different types of work. The power of when by Dr. Breus is very helpful.
Really this ADD is worst, I'm watching video and at the same time distracted towards comment section and started reading them and then realised that I didn't focus what he said in video and watched video again
I do that too, but I am able to understand everything even if I get distracted easily. And also, English is my second language that I'm perfecting it. I have ADD too... and also... Dyscalculia. I really struggle with Maths, numbers and abstract math problem. But I do not give up!
Thanks Ron, I'm actually struggling to become a better chess player, and that involves lots of reading, memorizing, note taking, analyzing, not just playing tons of chess games, and certainly, your tips will help a lot... By the way ¿Do you play chess or have a friend who likes chess? Maybe there's a way to use your memory techniques like the mind palace for chess training!
my big distraction is great commentators like yourself on youtube. That and speed chess. Re fb I did make quite a big breakthrough on that one when I realised that I would go on fb to do one thing, but end up distracted scrolling etc. So I started (for a while literally writing down) but making a note of what I was planning to do on there, before going on there. Doing it and then coming back out.
I have this entrance test coming soon... but I couldn't even focus for an hour continuously without Daydreaming. I have deleted every single one of my Social media accounts except for RUclips ( Because I need youtube for Studying for my exam)...Still, I am not able to focus. Thank you for this video :) It helped me a lot!
I'm not diagnosed but I am sure I have it. Even half way through I was having hypothetical conversations with ppl I will never meet about things that will never happen.
Ron, pls, I have some suggestions Could you pls do a video about traumatic memories? I always use your tips for forgot bad things and it's great, but you have something for recurrent thoughts? I'm doing therapy as well, for twenty years, but maybe you could help. Second, I am trying to memorize the Russian alphabet, which means sounds combined with letters. How to memorize both things? If you could help, of course Thanks
Umm is it too important to connect with nature as there's only traffic wherever I go outside and it's not worth it to drive out for miles to focus as I'm gonna get distracted from my goal -
I work hard on the videos and yes the light could have been better on this video and I should have used a lavalier microphone and I do have one. Thank you for the comment
DUDE! There was a mistake in the thumbnail and it is in revision right now but when the artist (who does all my thumbnails) sends me the revised version I will replace it tomorrow. But this is better than delaying the video for a day because of a mistake in thumbnail. It should say A.D.H.D. So check back tomorrow and you'll see :)
@@Brainathlete Sorry if I disrespected you with calling you dude. It's just the way I speak. I thought you forgot the watermark. Btw great video, your content is helping people.
I struggle with ADHD and being able to focus. There are my tips. Also my memory course is at www.blackbeltmemory.com

I cant imagine how people with A.D.D. are able to function when they..... Oh look! A butterfly!!!!
There are certain things that can focus the mind and then it has my full hard intense focus. but it's rare!
