Enya sent me their Carbon Fiber X4 Pro acoustic guitar to check out. If you spend any time watching this channel you know that I don't spend a lot of time covering acoustic guitars, let alone guitars made out of materials other than wood! So this was a bit of a zig on my zag. But what do you think? Is this guitar cool? did I show you the things you wanted to see? Was this a good video?

I’m a luthier and bought a carbon fiber guitar more than 5 years ago just so I had one guitar I didn’t have to work on, modify or anything except play. Zero problems still. I just leave it out 24/7 unlike all my vintage ones. Super reliable.

These Enya guitars can be plugged into an Amp for gigging in a noisy pub, right?
Ryan, I believe You forgot to mention that it does not need to be plugged in to use the Effects. That is the best part of playing this guitar acoustically.

holy hell how did I miss that? the guitar didnt come with any paperwork or manuals lol. I never would have thought to look for that. Im going to have to do a follow up now.
No it doesn't. It plays acoustically with the effects.

The rightness of graphitness! I've had a Rainsong guitar for several years, and love it. It sounds great, acoustically and on the piezo and is completely indestructible!

I bought one of these a year ago. I love this guitar, and with the built in effects it is very inspiring to play acoustically. I rarely play any of my other 15 acoustics anymore and a couple of those cost double to triple what this guitar does. And being carbon fiber I don't worry about taking it outside to play no matter what the weather is.
Love it So far. Plays well.
For anyone interested in ukuleles I got my mom an Enya ukulele (mad-eut model) and it's by far the nicest ukulele I've ever played. It was a little pricey for a uke ($180 I think) but it's beautifully well made.
Decent guitar package there…the Mic blend really help the sound. I wonder how these Enya models compare to the LAVA ME 3 guitars? they have more onboard effects , recording etc… for about $150;more. Good demo. Ps : I LIKE THE JOHNNY CASH VOICE ON Every Rose!

I agree with others that the offset circle looks dumb. I just bought the Enya X3 Mini for my son’s birthday. He loves it❤️ Reason, Northern Michigan weather is hard on wood and my son travels a lot. UNDER $400 😃
Very much looking forward to watching your review of this, despite me already owning (and loving) an X4 Pro, myself. Will return to comment afterwards, as well, but this much up front: This guitar is, to my ears, the best-sounding of all the carbon-fiber guitars I have heard in tons of reviews or tried myself. I love it as much as much go-to (wooden) Yamaha acoustic. However, folks should be warned that it isn‘t really „carbon-fiber“, at least except for the top. And it does change tuning when exposed to cold or heat/sun - something carbon-fiber guitars supposedly don‘t do. But frankly that doesn‘t bother me much, since I‘d rather take the Enya out camping in my van or in rotten weather or at a campfire than my wooden guitars. And the sound is in no way compromised, neither unplugged nor plugged in. I even intend to use it for live performances. Nough said, for now. Now on to watching the video…. ;-)

Can't say I have much interest in acoustic or carbon fiber guitars, but you made such an evocative thumbnail face that I just had to click on the video. Glad I did though, pretty interesting guitar -- and it sounded good without a single toanwood!
Decent for the price. Playable neck and a nice voice is tick my boxes. I literally can not buy any more guitars. I went from two to five in 2 months 😄
PS: The Inya sounds pretty good, but I haven't heard it with the acoustic effects yet. Is there a speaker inside it?
i've never liked that direct acoustic electric sound. having the mic blend totally sounds good to me, but i could see potential feedback issues with that in a live amplified setting... i'm not a big acoustic person, 1 is enough for me these days....but this seems cool.
that case is very classy! looks like a piano. I don't like having fancy cases, it makes me feel bad

I have one, it's a fun guitar and good for gigging when you want to leave the expensive Martin or Gibson at home.

I would accept this for what it is...carbon fiber. I would not expect it to sound like my wooden acoustic Art&Lutherie guitar. Much like I don't expect my Harmony Comet to sound like my Les Paul or Strat Plus. It sounds different and I like it. Good video.
Sounds good to me. I'm not in the market for a $900 acoustic, but I wouldn't call the price unreasonable. Some light shopping around shows higher priced options.
I recently played a friend's Rainsong (I looked it up, expen$ive!), it's nice. I'd like to see you play one and compare to this, see if you think the Rainsong is worth the extra money.

My wife bought it for me for my birthday, it is a great guitar for the Price.
Really not a bad sounding guitar for the price, especially with all the effects. I am wondering if I would rather have the Enya Nexg. It's got more features. The X4 is definitely a better looking guitar.

How the hell do you get the battery out for airline travel?
it's a building battery so no way to remove the battery but to disassemble the electricity system
I don’t think this is the same guitar Phil reviewed. I’m definitely looking for an inexpensive carbon fiber guitar that plays well because my nicer guitars aren’t so great for outdoor gigs lower than 60’s or higher than 80’s.
How would you even replace the battery when it dies and you can’t charge it anymore
Battery is removable/replaceable. With some patience the whole control box can be removed if needed, although if you or someone you know has small hands you could do it without removing.
I actually had to replace the usb c port on mine after my daughter ripped it off the stand while plugged in. That waa considerably more annoying, but doable.

Not sure about the actual mic placement but it looks as if you were mic-ing the sound-hole, (a no-no). Which is why it did not get a realistic version of the acoustic sound.
For some reason, it sounds a little overdriven. But other videos I've seen didn't sound that way.
Too rich for my blood but I like it. If Enya is sending you things, try to get the thin body les paul shaped cardon fiber composite acoustic electric from them. It's only about $200.

Judging it based on how it compares to a wooden instrument seems... incomplete: worth mentioning for a point of reference but otherwise limited. Lots of pissing and moaning in the comments, it's just another option, and there's a place for every sound in an arrangement if you're a good musician. This thing could fill interesting places in a mix or arrangement. Let's not poo poo its differences.

The reverb effects are passable but overall gotta say no thanks.

I've never been able to do anything with these plastic guitars. Even if it is carbon - to me it sounds like plastic. And not putting the sound hole in the middle is not innovative, it's ugly. But that's just my personal opinion
