For an accoustic/electric it's really not bad. Amazon has them for $700, which is a relative bargain compared to what you can spend on new guitars that don't have a lot of the perks that this does.

My guess would be giving a thumbs down to the frequent ADS which disrupt the video. She made a good vid but commercials every 2 1/2 minutes keep people from enjoying it. Like an unexpected poke in the eye just when you're getting into it!
only problem is an asshole named anish kapoor reserved the rights to use it. Look up Stuart Semple Black 2.0 and 3.0 for super black paint that everyone can buy.
It would seem the world is ending but listening to you play...it’s so good and relaxing. In this moment it feels like all is well. Cool guitar also ; )
I've watched this video multiple times now, and it almost - comes within a razor's edge - persuades me to spend the money to get one. For an inept hobby guitarist, it would be hugely expensive, but "small," "light," "carbon fiber," "built-in FX" are all magical terms. Then add that there are common effects built right into it… well… it's hard to resist.
Luh Well, here in Argentina one dollar is equivalent to 120 pesos, And my salary is about 70k pesos. So its a no-go. Ah and you have to add shipping costs and another 50% due to customs taxes.
Yeah, but to put that into perspective, I'm primarily a trombonist; a professional trombone that's worth a damn is going to start at $2,500 or more. And trombones, like guitars, vary in tone depending on what you're using them for. I play a King 2B for jazz, big band and rock - about 2,600 dollars new - and Conn 88H for orchestral, concert band or trombone choir - that one's almost 3 grand. So when I added guitar to my repertoire, I was delighted by how affordable it was.
@@onemondaynight Sure thing, but if you are a discerning experienced musician you will come to the conclusion that at the end of the road no brand can offer you a working tool as one made specifically for you with your specs. Its either you do it or you commission one. But no big brand ever delivers a high quality tool.
It's actually hard to tell whether this guitar sounds good because frankly everything sounds (and looks) good on your channel hence it ain't easy to establish a baseline. :-) I feel it does, though.
This is the first carbon fiber guitar I've heard that I actually enjoy the sound of. Nice! And as far as the pricing of instruments go, I was surprised at how low this costs.

My cousin Fred was blinded at a Meryle Haggard concert when a lazer light Beamed off of Waylon's pick guard. It hit this chick in her face n she toppled off this guy. Landed right on fred. Popped his eyes right out.. Was interviewed by National Enquirer but didn't make the print. The venue paid off the editor and switched to LED instead of laser shows.
BTW, I think this guitar looks really beautiful, I have nothing against matte finishes. That said, when you are playing your instrument, you shine, and there's no denying it. I love a shiny instrument, on stage, catching the light, bringing focus to the artist who is putting themselves out there. Of course, this is a tongue-in-cheek comment, but as Eric Bibb said, "You've got to shine on."
It would smash very easily. Carbon fiber is not exceptionally strong, it's exceptionally strong for it's weight. It also isn't the best material for impacts. I have drones made from carbon fiber, the frames 5mm thicker or greater. I could snap it with my hands without much difficulty. The reason it is used is due to weight. Lower weight means less power needed for flight, and less inertia, lending to better control and less chance of damage in an impact. My discuss launch gliders also have carbon fiber, and are very sturdy, but light weight. I could still snap it like a twig. Another example is carbon fiber frames for bicycles. Very rigid and light, but if an object were to hit the frame directly, you'd crack it.
Not more than I do in a traditional soundhole by just having a lazy grip on my picks!! :-P. ( I think it'd be easier to shake the pick out of that top hole - since the effects module is right up against the top, and you aren't fighting to shake a pick through 6 strings! )
That said, I'm not so convinced on the overall body/sound of the guitar... The effects seem like a gimmick to make up for the sorta hollow/lack-of-warmth fullness of sound. It's like a couple steps up from the sound of a Martin "backpacker" guitar, and then they added the built in battery pack with verb and chorus... Still, for ~$800 it's really not bad. Just depends on what you need it for. I can see this working well for buskers, and ppl that just want to travel light and solo jam, etc.
@@vaprex it's pretty easy tbh what I do is get is in the centre of the hole and then flip it quickly upside down if it doesnt fall out it should be close to just wiggle it a lil

I bought one after watching ths video. Ive had it for quite a while now. I never pick up my Martin, or my Rickenbacer. It is always "right there" When I hear a song and I wanna fiure it out" or play along I grab the Lava. So its funny looking. WHo aint? I had gotten burnt out on guitar. It was stale. I have been playing since 65. Yes I should be bettter. But this Lava takes me back to when It was New and Fun. Yes FUN. Its always fun. Good video Mary.
I am there at the playing for ages but not grtting anywhere. Looking to try these out fingers crossed. That said I have gone back to trying to record in cubase pro and using You Tube came across various videos that got me fired upa gain.. ...
Tried one today. The sound and feel put me almost in a meditative state of mind. I usually find steelstringed guitars’ string tension hard on my fingers, but this one was very comfortable for my dry, semi-old fingers. Money will be steered in this direction, when it (the money🔭) shows up.
I like what they did with the sound hole. It reminds me of something I read about violins, that you get more power out of the instrument by increasing the perimeter of the sound hole, but you also get more power if you can keep a larger surface area on the face of the instrument. A longer, skinnier sound hole maximizes both of those things. Finally, putting it where they did keeps your hand from blocking it, so you'll always get full sound when you're playing acoustic.
Can we have layup / matrix / fibre details...? Or is that proprietary? Also can I have a job designing these please? I'm pretty keen on guitars and currently working on a PhD in advanced composite manufacturing 😊 Hook a brother up? 😁
That guitar sounds amazing. Keep in mind that while carbon fiber is incredibly strong, it is not indestructible. Mary, I am curious, does it stays in tune better than a guitar made out of wood?
If you treat it with the same respect as any other guitar, it will sure seem indestructible. But yeah, put it in the hands of a four-year-old and it probably won't survive long.
Even better than the guitar, I enjoyed watching you enjoying your own playing..... like the music was just falling out of your fingers and you were a spectator like me. That is real talent.

"I'll have what she's having."
My brain: I need to stop buying stuff

$1,399
.....that's because it is expensive.
she's showing the LAVA ME 2 wich costs $799.
Imagine living in a country where it costs 5 times more... It's just absurd.
But...very beautiful and well made instrument.
That’s because her tone is in her hands, I think

"I like matte finish on guitars, so, you know, they don't shine."
How dare you.
Shiny finishes tend to stick to me when I perform. Humans sweat. Not all of us like to stick to and peel off our instrument.
I like matte finishes...
Good luck with smashing that guitar to pieces at the end of a concert.
Townshend would be ashamed.
I can see myself losing many picks in that soundhole while upstroking 😂
@@vaprex And you can just grab the pick off the effects box, cos you don't have strings in the way of your fingers.

Tried one today. The sound and feel put me almost in a meditative state of mind. I usually find steelstringed guitars’ string tension hard on my fingers, but this one was very comfortable for my dry, semi-old fingers. Money will be steered in this direction, when it (the money🔭) shows up.
7:15 did you come up with the on the spot?

The 1975 - If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)
I like what they did with the sound hole.

I have a few Rainsongs and they do stay in tune better generally.
Humidity shouldn't effect it at all, a big bonus if you ask me.
