    Traits are characteristics or features that can be passed from one generation to next generation. Some examples include hair color how tall you are, skin color, or gender or maybe even the shape of the nose.
    If you take a look at dogs it could be long tails vs short tails, long ears or short ears.
    In genetics, traits are determined by your genes. genes are sections of DNA that carry the code for a characteristic. Genes are located on chromosomes, which are structures in the nucleus of cells. Each cell in the body contains two copies of each chromosome, one inherited from each parent.For each trait you have different forms of the same trait, which are called alleles.
    Alleles are located at the same position on chromosomes and determine the physical expression of a trait. The physical expression of a trait is the phenotype
