I took this set really casually. I bought the elite box for my daughter who wanted to get into tcg and just finished lets go Eevee. It was blast to watch her go threw it. First pack had the Gold Mew which shouldn't care less about cause the next was a holo Vaporeon which is one of her favorites.
Kids are too pure for this hobby.
I've opened around 40-50 packs and am still missing some of the commons/uncommons as well. I like it because it makes it exciting to open packs even if you don't get a hit. I hope they do something like this for Gen 2
Yeah it's insane. One I can't seem to get very often is Golduck lol This set is so hit and miss.
I still feel like 151 is holding up the Scarlet and Violet era. 👍
I'm also done with this set in terms of opening up product. I've opened everything and never pulled a sar. Best I pulled was gold mew. Singles from here on out..

After 2 ETBs, 9 booster bundles, 2 poster boxes, 2 binder boxes, 2 zam boxes, 2 zapdos boxes and 1 UPC…. I’ve gotten ONE SIR… the SIR zapdos…
I wanna say I’ve gotten like 5 IRs, all the golds plus 2 Mews… and no God pack
I might get the rest as singles, packs haven’t been the best
This is the first set I have ever tried to complete the master set for. All non holo, reverse holos, literally all of it. Even promos. Slowly making progress, time to get singles now tho
I'm into this set for 4 bundles, 2 ETB, 1 zapdos box and a UPC. My pulls have been frankly pitiful. My Mew promo was off-center and my metal Mew has dings in it. Rarest pull was the Giovanni SIR. Most expensive was IR Charmander. If I had flipped all of the product I preordered at a discount, I could have used the pure profit to buy the complete base set or a Blastoise SIR.. Makes ya think.
Heading over to my Good Buddies house with a 151 UPC, and booster bundle in hand with my 8 year old to meet up with his daugter to rip some 151 today! SUPER EXCITED! He has a UPC and two Binder collection boxes to crack (he is gifting us ibe of the binder collections) , and I proposed the 151 chase to him for a cool easier and acheivable goal, and it will be so fun to do with our youngsters!! WE ARE GOING TO PARTY LIKE ITS 1999 TODAY!! 😉 Thanks for the vids Jake, been following the 151 series with ya!

It's wild how big these sets are nowadays! I was trying to see if older sets were as large, and nope, most of the others (XY, BW, etc.) were soooo much smaller. Really fun seeing these cards opened though, I've started my 151 binder as well.
Two etbs was all I was willing to open. Fun set, cheap cards, but I don’t like wasting money.

I got it in the ETB I purchased on release day. Since then I've had a 2nd ETB and the binder collection and only pulled the Arbok ex 😪 Pull rates are very erratic for this set
Why don't you sleeve your cards ? the sleeves are not that expensive
Wow, its pretty wild that you can complete the set (excluding secret rares) using the secondary market for just a little more than the retail price of an ETB! I guess its the thrill of the chase but with how high prices have been for sealed product, I'm definitely planning on buying singles instead for most of this set. Thanks as always, Jake!
Man what are you talking about? You said you can buy this complete set for $65 😆 yeah definitely not.
I opened up 8 ETBs (4 were great, 4 were cursed) , 5 booster bundles and 1 UPC so far and got a couple of good SIR cards but often enough doubles.
I own 2 Alakazams ex, 3 Zapdos ex and 2 squirtle SIR now. 😂
... And not a single Pidgeotto or Amber. It's so weird, I kinda love it. Also reminds me of base set when it felt super rare to pull Arcanine as an uncommon card. Must be awesome to open up with kids.
you are saying £65 but that doesn't include any full arts, ARs or SAR or gold cards.
I bought 10 single booster packs and pulled 2 ex cards and 2 illustration rares. Not bad in my opinion.
Love your content but I so wish these deals you speak of (Crown Zenith especially) were available in Canada. Currently ETB's are about $90 and single packs range from 11 to 13! That said, I usually master sets but with this one I may attempt to do it without opening any of them. Also, Fusion Strike had well over 500 cards for the master set which I completed at reasonable cost!
Yea this set is rough, I had an ETB that only had the Venusaur EX in it. I'm going to do two more ETB, the Zapdos box and maybe the Mew box if I can find a good deal on it. I'm loving the artworks but definitely going the singles route once it cools off some. I need about 30 more cards to finish Crown Zenith so I'm going to work on that and Gym Heroes finally, then go back to 151.
Just a tip reminder, you'll save more on buying singles (wait a month or few weeks for prices to drop)
If your going for a master set and enjoy the hunt, buy as many boxes as you can within your budget, fill out what you can, and fill in the rest with singles. Buying a completed set takes away the satisfaction of opening and pulling.
65 to complete the final set on the 2nd market? Im assumin you just mean to complete all the common cards coz the charizard illustration rare alone is like 100 😭😭
Pulled the Zard SAR and Erika’s Invitation full art from one upc. Not testing my luck anymore. Buying singles time
Do you keep the reverse holos separate or with the set?
I've bought every product but the binder one, and I'm 91% done with the set, reverses included in that. I just really need illustration rares so I've moved on to singles
I've opened around 70 packs and I'm still missing commons/uncommons as well. It feels strange because if you open two booster boxes of a normal set, you definitely have all of them.

Out of 120 packs i opened so far, i finally got a god pack of the water evolutions last night... didnt think they god packs were real but nope they are out there lol

@@jacobtorres7102 I haven’t sold a pokemon card in my life but I know that opening too many packs is a waste of money. I open some boosters but I know when to stop and just get the singles. This is not an investment it’s gambling 🎰
Accomplished a full base master set with reverses and ex with $150 from just buying peoples bulk. Now just going for singles
Booster bundles have sucked for me. I'd recommend alakazam boxes.
Just opened my first trainer box ever. (151 ultra premium) Pulled blastoise ex SAR, Venusaur ex SAR, kangaskhan ex, arbok ex, gold psychic energy, 3 cosmo holo water energy. Very pleased. Really wanted that SAR charizard but after watching this I guess I’ll be content with my experience 😂
Awesome! I'm currently trying to complete sv 151 in reverse holos. 8 upc's and 2 etb's. I'm almost there. Only 36 left to complete. Oh, and then I want to keep getting them graded until I have the full set at cgc Pristine 10.
Opened up well over 200 packs. Still missing two reverse holos and 16 SIR. But got three Charizards SIR - two Venasaurs SIR - and no Blastoise, no Wartortle. Crazy. I'm just buying singles now.

Every other thing, normally priced. MSRP $60, stores slightly lower than msrp.
Mew UPC, msrp $120. in stores $200.
Thinking either getting OBF or PAR probably the 36 booster packs.
I’m also done with 151… at this point I’ve completed the base set outside of 1 trainer card and Kangaskhan. I’ve also pulled most of the more expensive cards. The only cards valued over $20 I haven’t pulled are the Venusaur ex and the Alakazam ex. I’ll buy what little is left as singles.
I got the whole set in reverse pokeball rare in jp, don't really care about the masterball reverses so having the whole set for less than €100 made me quite happy, no AR and so on of course.
On another note I highly suggest sleeving up every card, not even to protect them but to make them fit better in the binder, a lot of cards here were tilted and looked like they were about to fall off lel. I also don't suggest using penny sleeves or perfect sleeves, too big and too small. I use CC218 PYN for example, no clue what's good in the US though :V
Normal playing sleeves work the best. And yes cards need to be sleeved
You don’t have any of the reverse holos? It would cost over $350 to get all the cards 1-165 regular and reverse holos. Then the 166-207 would cost around $800+ so ya a lot of money.
Ha, i got lucky with my ETB. Pulled one full art. one bloody full art. seriously man.....
I feel the quality of this set is poor. The ETB card guide isn’t glossy and feels more photocopied, code cards made me feel like l had double vision. This has been the worst set l’ve opened for quality and pull rates.
Opened 40 packs. Got 2 SIR. Both were zapdos ex lol. Not bad..but like..couldnt i get a dif one lol
Bro…. you can’t even even be mad if you bought $250 worth of cards and didn’t pull anything…
COming late to party, but; better spend 50$ for Korean box, you get 3 illustration rares guaranteed, SR most likely and few EX cards (around 10 hits per box). And a master ball reverse which is also really neat bonus (and can be quite valuable). Basically you get value you pay or really close to it if you just get normal pulls sans the biggest set chase cards.
I've been collecting the reversed holo's of every card this time. It truely improved the pack opening experience.
(A lot of luck regarding pulls helped significantly as wel XD)
This set is weird with pulls. It is so interesting that you have no venusaur ex, I pulled 5 out of about 200 packs. And as far as commons and uncommon I couldn't pull a radicate until about 100 packs. Batching has got to be a thing... Im convinced.
Noticed similar pulls with all booster bundles I ordered at the same time. The UPC had significant differences for me. I'm also convinced that theres batching involved.

i bought about $500 of this set, completed basically all of it save for IR/SIR cards and finished up singles after. fun time!

I can kinda appreciate your take on this set. I've heard many times that this is that set that is going to bring people into or back into the hobby. But, honestly, it is a set that is starting to feel like it is driving me out of the hobby. It's just not fun after spending a ton of money... and not getting anything over and over again. I don't even feel like buying the singles... it just doesn't matter now. All 3 of the previous SV sets feel like this (albeit, this set is just more expensive). I think I'm saying good bye since SV was released.... and this is the door hitt'n me in the butt.

I pulled base Mew EX on my second pack.
First booster box got me the kangaskhan ex and golden mew and a full art trainer. Just waiting for that binder bundle so I can stick em in lol

I opened 16 packs. Pulled a nice factory damaged zard SIR. Thanks pokemon! Pulled the common, reverse, and the EX pikas and then I just bought my chase, Pikachu IR, for 11 bucks. I'm good on this set.
I haven't opened any 151 yet. I also haven't actually seen any in stores yet. I mean I could always buy it online if I really wanted to.
So far I have only opened one binder box and one poster box. My best pull was the Alakazam art rare. I will buy one UPC and everything I'm missing after opening that, I will be buying as singles.

Yes. No secret rares. But that's still including all ex like Charizard ex & mew ex

isn't it subjective? - some people will just go for commons and holos while some get preorder promos and things.
Personally, I don't care about having a master set. I just pick out the cards like the most. I don't even know exactly how many packs of Paldea Evolved I've opened since release, but I know it was well over 100 and finally pulled the Iono SIR. I still want to pull the Meowscarada EX SIR, even though I already have one in my collection. But once I eventually pull it I'm gonna trade it, lol.

Out of the 4 packs inside, i got 3 full art cards (Pikachu, Erica, and Bill) Alakazam ex, and holo ditto... Unreal!
I opened one of almost everything (ETB, UPC, Alakazam box, Zapados box, starter promo box). I got about 40-50% of the set complete? I’ll just buy singles though from here on out so this way I know I’m getting the exact card I need.

I got so lucky with my UPC pulled a god pack squirtle, wart, and blast. Also got erika card. probably wont buy another one looking at the reviews its like the charizard UPC lol
How is it like the charizard upc? Is it cause of the reprints for it?
@Gnalysis people claiming their pull rates on the charzard upc were terrible just like the 151 upc. I remember my charizard upc pulls weren't even close to the $100 I spent on the box.

Yeah this set is painful. I’ve got a few nice cards but I think I have to just be content with what I’ve got.
This is where PC is falling us!! Buying any product without a single hit is ridiculous. $30 and not even a basic ex!? Previous SV sets had such high pulse rates...idk that changed

so this is weird, I too am missing very simular cards in my set. metapod, buttterfree, dewgong, hitmonchan, seaking. I find it weird that these more common cards would not have been found by now for me.
I opened up quite a few packs and got all the SIRs except the charizard. Not bad but I have two copies of Erika and Giovanni and three of the zapdos so it's sad to not get the zard. I find it funny that you are done with 151 after so few packs. I watched you open a full booster box of lost origin the other day which is a years old set but you are done with this set after only a week. It's also never worth opening a pack when compared to buying it. Literally never. Every set is cheaper to buy than to open so that argument doesn't work for any one set in particular. This will be a fun set to open up down the road. The rarity of the hits makes it more like early sword and shield where the big hitters are always fun to get.
How do you still haven't gotten the Venusaur regular yet, I keep pulling that card

I got lucky with one of my booster bundle. The two main hits that came out of it was omanyte illustration rare and charizard ex full art
I’ve only boughten the new UPC, out of that I got the blastoise SAR, and caterpie AR, however I only opened half of my packs, and I’m waiting for my boyfriend so I can watch him open his 8 packs! I hope I get one more AR/EX our of the other half of our packs

Watched this video while watching the only ETB I decided to buy from Target and wasn't getting my hopes up. Pulled a Bulbasaur art rare and then the Charizard secret illustration rare on the last pack!!!!
i got really lucky on this set, i wanted the yoriyuki cards (bulbasaur line), opened 6 packs, and pulled bulbasaur and venusaur. plus a jynx ex. so i’m done here, just have to buy or trade for ivysaur

Sorry to hear you havent done well with this set. Ive spent about $450 and I've gotten 3 Erikas and I have all the Gold cards. I'm only missing Charizard Secret art and Venasaur. Otherwise only missing 2 regular EX and a bunch of regular full arts. I have almost every holo and reverse holo. My luck has been absolutely nuts!
This is the first set and maybe only one I want to complete I am also missing Raichu and Butterfree what the heck? Lol
Yeah I am also done opening. Only got a few illustration rares but picked up all the missing cards from the main set for less than 15 bucks
I opened up 58 packs. Got a Zard God Pack, pulled another Zard SIR and 2 gold cards and a smattering of other IRs and Vs. I dont want to be done with this set but I think singles is the way to go to try to save some money lol
I have bought one of each item and still missing tons of EXs, art rares and one SAR. Waiting for Balck Friday deals on cards and then maybe singles to finish off that binder
I opened the zapdos and alakazam box today and got tons of hits. Finished the master set the weekend it game out. The set seems very hit or miss but I've had good luck
I am hoping to buy a upc this Friday. Ive opened about 10 packs so far but i havent gotten anything. I also want the etb because my daughters favorite pokemon is snorlax and she wants that promo i will probably get her her own for Christmas
