Super Option. These kits are available only for limited models of scooters right now. Very soon more models will come. ARAI approval cost close to 35 Lakh. That's why many people find very difficult to get approvals... Kit cost close to 20000 ( Motor and controller ). Battery price depends on the range we need and type of battery we use. This should be more familiarized with the public so that they don't need to sell their petrol vehicle to buy a electric bike/scooter. Govt should allow this liberally so that EV adoption can be faster... Excellent effort by Arunai Sundar Sir... Keep Inspiring people to move towards EVs...

Hybrid electric conversion is good concept. Rather than calculating for one year, it should be calculated on three years basis, we will found that it is much cost effective.
However the Lithium Ion is maintenance free battery and its total life is more than 5 years. And also by using electric vehicles, we are contributing to save our environment.

50km per day * 30 days = 1500km/month. therefore 1500*12 = 18,000km/year. consider bike can give 45km per litre. then 18,000/45 = 400 liter. 400*93 Rs/liter = 37,000rs. But here we spend 60,000 on the overall setup. This is not a feasible idea because it is costly and not giving full usage to our investment. Better we can take full-electric Bike with safety aspects.

Its like 50 - 50 Actually we have good electric bike cost around 60k to 62 k, but one drawback is need a regular battery maintenance. If go for like hybrid kind it may help full - if the battery back may lost inbetween or failure - can easily switch - if go for full electric bike - it can't

As the cost is too high, you have uploaded video of e-bikes costing 60k. If he reduces the price, as the bike is already there, may be 25 to 30k, its viable.

There is one big disadvantage , the battery is not safe and it does not have anti theft mode .. so anyone can easily open diki and take battery anytime. so think before you do this and 60k invested is not small amount . so its better to have both petrol and electric in different .

You can use a separate box for Battery in the seat rear side if U think it is not safe to keep the battery in boot space. People may be not ready to invest another 3000 to 4000 for that additional box. Anyhow this i a better option to convert scooters into Hybrid.
This is a better option, but 60000 is too high we will get a new electric scooter in this price with all RTO clearance certificate

It will good idea for big brands like Honda to do this kind of Hybrid vehicles, they should really come cup with this kind of solutions , else they will be left behind by EV manufacturers. Competition is going to be immense with OLA, Mark2, Ather, etc.. Honda, Hero, TVS, Bajaj, pls wake up and give factory fitted hybrid scooters like this....

good concept but in one of ur video the dealer said if we convert to hybrid it ll have engine wait as well so there will be power loss, to avoid we can have 2 lithium fero phosphate battery. 1 with range 80km and the other one with 50 km in eco mode so we can keep one as primary and one in reserve. so we can go anywhere in electric bike without hassle

Expenses.... A rough calculation.
Current petrol price , say 100/- per litre.
So using 60000 the owner can fill 600 liters of petrol.
If the scoter has a mileage of , say, 45 km / litre, then it can go 27000km. Using 600 ltrs of petrol.
So a normal user this much distance is covered in four years.
Now spending Rs60000 /- and installing the hybrid concepts..then
Let us Consoder Electric charging cost for full charge at Rs7.00/- prr unit would be Rs28.00/- ( four units)
One full charge gives 50km range..
Then for Rs 27000km , you need to recharge 540 times.
Charging cost would be 540x 28= Rs15120/-.
Using this money , without conversion, the scooter can go further 6800km.
That means the conversion would be beneficial only after 5 years... that also in ideal case..
Now buy a pure Electric bike or converted bike is left for viewers choice..

Sir better to make fully battery. Anyway hybrid is not approved as of now. Also we agree that lifo battery is costlier than lion battery. But the warranty given is less for the cost of 60k we pay. Since speed is 50km, and mileage is also 50km. So something should be done on cost and safety segment for 100% E-bike

u might lose petrol engine efficiency when you use the regenerative braking sys if the motor is attached directly to the wheel due to back emf / eddy losses.
Only the wheel rotate, it will not effect engine and alternator
@@jayanvayakkal I also know that only the wheel rotates but there a rotation resistance occuring at the wheel hub due to back emf in the hub motor which cut off the pick up and of course mileage when driven on IC engine. Please do some research on this.

While this is a great idea. However to me it's not practical. These are purely my suggestions and not to hurt anyone feelings.
1) Ideally if one pays the same amount or slightly higher they can get an additional scooter ( E-Bike). Why would one want to spend on an idea that's not approved by ARAI.
2) Hybrid may not be an good idea since the entire engine weight is born by the hub motor and there will be energy loss.
3) I can see electricals and the fuel tank very close. If something happens insurance? Also to come out of the case one has to spend his life and just not worth.
4) Best to move to pure electric bike. Electric giants do immense testing. Hassles are less and we can blame the company.
In this case we need to be careful. Choose wisely and plan correctly.

I think Hybrid electric conversion kit is available for Honda scooters. Adapter plate for fitment of hub motor has been designed only for Honda scooters. Is there any possibility for fitment of hub motor in TVS JUPITER SCOOTER?

Buying a full EV is better than converting existing petrol vehicle into hybrid. Pureev and Okinawa have pretty good EVs for only 50k.

You should the engine indirectly, to charge the battery, at a constant, low RPM and use the battery to power the hub motor. Contact me for more details.
How about RTO permission? Any change in vehicle has to be registered otherwise it is illegal and Insurance claim may be declined.
