It was totally worth watching this clip to see Kristian Alfonso and Joseph Mascolo do the bump and fight over the envelope like little kids...because you ain't ever gonna see that on Days. I must say, all the scenes submitted that year were fab, but Cynthia gets it for awesome use of a mallet. Loved Jackie Zeman and Eileen too.
Cynthia would have had my vote. I loved all the reels but that sceen in particular was golden as well as Annie on the witness stand. I remember watching GL in 97 and saying to myself she's gonna win that Emmy.
I thought Eileen Davidson should have won that year. She pulled off those mutilple roles with such ease, and was the favorite to win in the eyes of many.
Oh, whatever dude, I love Eileen Davidson but obviously, you didn't see the great work Cynthia did on Guiding light during her time. Pull up her work here on youtube and I'm sure you'll change that tune.
@@hshawn00 I did watch GL during that time, actually. And I loved that she won. But, maybe they could've tied. DAYS didn't get a lot of Emmy love in the 90s either
@@caseyhutchison7812 Sorry, I thought you hadn't seen her work. A tie would have been great! As I stated, I love both actresses and I loved the Kristen storyline with all her alter egos. Susan was my favorite. Cynthia just had this ability to break your heart while she was doing some of the most horrible things. I would never be good as an Emmy judge because I would probably hand them out to everyone in the category! :)
Two years later, she was cast on _Titus._ Pretty interesting to see clips of her on a soap having watched her in a wildly comedic series later in her career.
Kristen is a crazy character and was very multifaceted. That one and Susan were her main 2 characters. The other 3 were very minor but even Susan being such a ridiculous crazy character is still an acting role that she did a great job in creating. THe acting of playing two different parts who didn't resemble each other and on top of that having Kristen pretending to be Susan and Susan pretending to be Kristen added more layers on top of that. Her facial expressions, her emotions, the bad side of Kristen and the silly but hilarious side of Susan shows how much work she put into those characters.
This win totally restored my faith in acting awards. Hard work paid off with a marvellous honor - Cynthia Watros should be very proud!

KA was running the show behind the scenes according to gossip.
Cynthia sure deserved her win. She was amazing on GL. Eileen Davidson also should have won, she was always fantastic on DAYS.

Here's hoping she wins her second Emmy tonight! (:

She was on Days though
What a gentleman Joseph Mascolo is, first helping Watros up on the stage, then giving her a handkerchief when she was crying.
I would've loved to have seen Jackie Zema win...She's deserved an Emmy for a LONG LONG time...Cynthia was great on GL...So was Eileen on Days
Eileen Davidson will FOREVER be robbed because of this

@@caseyhutchison7812they're not getting much now either. Their production quality is awful.

What ? Eileen was brillant, she should have win !
Annie took her usual front row seat on the Crazy Train.
Cynthia did justice to this role she did a great job with this role of Annie
Here's hoping Cynthia wins her second Emmy tonight! (:
I honestly don't know how people could say davdison deserved it, those roles she played on days were absolutely ridiculous
