Julia Barr absolutely deserved it over Victoria Rowell. Brooke's journey into madness and grief after the plane crash was "All My Children" at its finest!
I cannot believe they let Julia Barr go! Gosh why didn't they offer her a contract? But good for Barr for refusing to go on recurring status...she deserved a lot better
But they don't submit clips, they submit tapes with several, much longer scenes than the brief clips from the emmy show!. Julia Barr's submission tape is so good. Watch the scene of her on the beach. No surprise that she won the Emmy. She's another level of talent.
Vanessa Marcil and Victoria Rowell were both nominated together two years straight losing to Michelle Stafford and Julia Barr. It's most likely Jaclyn Zeman was runner up to Stafford but Carlson and Ecklund were not factors. VM was given an Emmy in 03 and Rowell was too much of a diva.
Something no one can disgaree with is GH def has the most popular actors. YR beats them in viewership because of the elderly but popularity was is and will always be with GH
@TaylorPride2010 however I've seen several African American actresses at the Oscars, for example, be rewarded (McDaniel, Berry, Goldberg, Hudson, Monique) with tons more honored with a nomination and likely are more represented there than other minorities. However, the Emmys have no excuse for as of now not awarding a woman of color the Best Actress win, especially when Debbi Morgan at AMC does great. This win, I'd have liked to have seen a tie with Rowell and Barr, both great actresses
I remember looking forward every year to seeing the daytime emmys when it used to be watchable, looking forward to watching AMC actors appear and hopefully win. and confused and annoyed at the loud applauses they gave GH whenever an actor or a clip of GH would appear. Didn't get the hype cuz i wasnt a fan and still not! Those days are gone now and i don't even watch them anymore. Honestly the daytime emmys aren't even needed anymore now
Yeah, I didn't like that she couldn't finish her speech, but what I think is they give you like 3 minutes to get to the stage, say a few thanks you and get off, once the music starts that's it! All that hugging and etc along the way just slows them down!
don't get me wrong, Victoria is a tremendous actress but the perfomance that year of Julia Barr was magnificent and indeed emmy worthy..the academy got this one right.
Worthy win!!
All 5 are PHENOMANAL! Truly. I definitely could not pick. We don't have this talent in Daytime anymore :(
EXCELLENT Video! Julia Barr Rocks!!!
Julia Barr absolutely deserved it over Victoria Rowell. Brooke's journey into madness and grief after the plane crash was "All My Children" at its finest!
Victoria had a killer clip
OMG those guys looked amazing!!
Victoria Rowell probably should have won. She was great as Dru and that story where she and Neil battle about having children was so good.
But she didn't win fabulous Julia Barr did
I cannot believe they let Julia Barr go! Gosh why didn't they offer her a contract? But good for Barr for refusing to go on recurring status...she deserved a lot better
Hooray! Julia Barr winning her 2nd Emmy! (: The clips were wonderful to watch! (:
Victoria Rowell clearly should have won this Emmy!!!!
Dominique P Victoria could had won every year
No, Julia Barr clearly deserved it!
SERIOUSLY how did she lose with that submission?! I saw that episode back then and Victoria Rowell was FIRE in all of it.
I'm so glad she won instead of Icky Vicki
Victoria should had won don't get me wrong I loved Julia Barr as Brooke but Victoria Rowell was great in that clip.
Nah that plane crash was julia barrs finest hour on the show
If all of you Julia Barr fans thought she should have one, thats fine. But, based on these clips Victoria Rowell clearly outshined everyone.
twistsnlocs1 yes because that looked like a real argument.
Your opinion
Nah. This episode is on youtube. Go watch AMC 1997 which she won for and. Its no contest.

I was really rooting for Amy Ecklund from GL but this was a really tough category this year. Shame Amy has pretty much disappeared since leaving GL.
Julia probably gave the best supporting actress performance of all time and definitely since. No performance has topped that.
Damn shame Victoria Rowell never won an Emmy. She's one of the greatest actresses ever
No she isnt

honey, need and deserve are two different things.
also forgot how the clips that the actors and actresses submitted were ACTUALLY shown on the show instead of just dismissed.
yep. vicki row rocked out though.
I like this since now that AMC screwed her over.

Whatever became of Amy Ecklund? The other Amy, Carlson, was on Blue Bloods. Just so happy that Julia won!
Victoria should've won .
The clip with VR, she's a snob

OK, note to the "Bros" of B&B - touch Lady Brooke again and I'ma HURT YOU! I forgot how rudely they cut off her speech!!!
Amy Ecklund was robbed from Guiding Light. She so deserved it!
Who are the three presenters?
Winsor Harmon (Thorne), Ronn Moss (Ridge), and John McCook (Eric) who were all on The Bold and the Beautiful.
@@marcelparker6755One still is.
don't get me wrong, Victoria is a tremendous actress but the perfomance that year of Julia Barr was magnificent and indeed emmy worthy..the academy got this one right.
God, no taste at all. Putting that music on loudly so that people can't hear what she says, and the Ronn Moss practically pushing her off... :S
all the scenes are the same. fraught with drama.
they are soaps/dramas...
The Academy just didn’t want to give that award to Victoria Rowell on Y&R.
The real robbery was Tonya Lee Williams. It was tough to beat Anna Holbrooke having material with Linda Dano.
