It is sad but they have such total saturation of their own sports and its so expensive for other sports to get on their TV that they miss out on everything else. If the AFL managed to get it back onto US TV more of them would learn about it.
The afl dwarfs the nrl though and afl membership numbers are insane. If you can’t name many afl teams and you are Australian, you would have to be living in a cave.

When I was in the USA ever one would ask about Aussie Rules when they realised I was Australian! There is 50 AFL Amateur AFL teams in America 12 Rugby league teams Mason Cox has been on American 60 minutes! American soldiers based here in Australia in World war two upon returning to America would write on mass for to thier Australian buddies for results. However some American's think Australian football is Rugby as in union.. same with league every code except soccer is Rugby😮🤣🤔

@@aflfromla definitely, I live walking distance from their home ground 😀 but in Queensland (where Brisbane is) our main code is rugby league not AFL - it’s getting bigger, but I enjoy the local club games. We like to watch the women’s AFL at the Bulimba Bulldogs :)

It seems that Chris Grant had a bit of a win with close Bevo ally Rohan "Bubba" Smith being moved on, and Matthew Egan coming in from the Cats during this off-season. Hopefully it's just a wake-up call to shake everyone out of some perceived complacency, rather than anything earth shattering.
I think we should be able to cover him. We're an odd team, as our list is capable of winning a flag, and it's also capable of slumping to 14th, depending upon injuries. I put us firmly in the 5th to 10th bracket, so probably making finals, but not definitely in the top bracket.

Rugby Union is similar but with slightly different rules so yes. :) Cricket is considered our national sport as it has popularity in all states around Australia whereas AFL and NRL (Rugby League) are only popular in certain areas.
@@aflfromla Yes. Soccer is popular but really only a sport you play as a Teenager, most of us don't actually follow soccer that much unless Australia is in the final of the World Cup. Tennis is also popular along with Hockey (field not ice ;) ) and of course surfing.

You know our team very well, who do you go for out of curiosity? Probs mentioned it several times in your videos haha sorry I think we will sit between 10-14 in 2024, some have us a little higher (even 8th haha) and some have us lower. We haven’t really built on this year given the ins and outs over the draft period, except our midfield is coming along well. Bit of trial and error to get things right. The competition is way too strong for us to be any higher but as all dockers fans say, give it another couple of years. We also seem to have a terrible run with injuries and often lose players coming to their prime to Victorian teams. In short, another frustrating and painful year coming for us diehard freo fans.
Yeah, there def seems to be a problem with the Dockers retaining talent. Not sure why. Fingers crossed for a better season next year. I'm an Eagles fan, so the only way is up! Thanks again for checking out the channel 😉
