I was a drummer in a band once where our keyboard player was learning Scott Joplin's Magnetic rag. Each week he'd play it as we cleared up after practice, getting better and better each week. He lodged with our guitarist who replied to me after 6 weeks when I said "I like this", "if he plays this one more time I WILL kill him." Needless to say I hadn't had to put up with the endless practice sessions.
Perhaps single-finger play would help? Though you still have to know which finger of course. This has been a great period for musical discoveries as I only just became aware of Eccles singer-songwriter Eric Smallshaw, whose energetic performance of his own song 'To Welcome the Monarch Olé!' secured him last place in the BBC's 1977 Silver Jubilee Song Contest.

Excellent- I’ll check him out, thanks!
@@grahamfellowsmusic3961 should be findable with "silver jubilee song contest" - brace yourself for quite a continental flavour!
Sun Ra played a Crumar...I suppose this is quite free-form in it's own way.
My 2nd favourite version 🤗
😆😆 Oh... 🤣Thanks for this💖
A little bit of Les Dawson there I think-perhaps they were taught by the same teacher 😏
Johns childhood inspiration.
