He was only 21 when he made this recording. A typical Fellows creation with his unique blend of satirical parody tempered with genuine affection for human characters.
I feel as if I’m the only American who’s aware of the comedy/musical talents of Graham Fellows. I learned about him four months ago, on a visit to a small village called Wroxton in Oxfordshire, and here I am down a rabbit hole.
Great song with more than a tinge of nostalgic melancholy - love the brass backing. Being a 1959 Sheffield lad myself I recognise quite a few locations.
Greetings from America at 3 AM. Love all of your tunes, quite a knack for hooks and melody. Hope you bundle all these recordings onto an LP sometime soon. Cheers! PS love the mice in this one!
Wonderful.. And I wonder if this could be a precursor to Shuttleworth. The character who oh so reminds me of my late grandad John. A coal minor, lawn bowls player, black berry picker and the organ music on vinyl DJ for the Wednesday night oap dance up North ❤
Lovely. If all of these song films were put together it would be like watching an episode of the innes book of records or peter skellern's happy endings. I wonder if there are any more that will surface.

Thanks for burrowing down, Brian!
Brilliant 😂, ah takes u back. Love it when he says "you want to hold it, just sits in your hand"
Superb, I have the single and the B side 'Rebecca' is a wonderful track also. Oof, lovely.
A heroic single and a hint of what was to come from Graham...
Absolutely brilliant. Brings back some very fond memories of some of the nicest people I've ever met.
He obviously has always been John shuttleworth even before he knew he was
Brilliant, early Shuttleworth and even heard Kens voice in there. Reminiscent of The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour too.
Yes, I agree!

Where are the places? I don't recognise any of them. It's all different now.

Yep, that is exactly how it was.

I always thought this song was about pigeons for some reason
Nice mice!
Sounds like the birth of John Shuttleworth in parts
That's exactly what it is. Oof.
