Nooooo! Much as I enjoyed this, the Shuttleworth world has its own history with his two wives, his agent, Joan, Peter etc. and all the events involving all the characters. I know Count Arthur's fans would say the same about his but John's is so delicately appointed having taken years of layering and nuancing!! Still, this encounter was fun....not least cos you can tell they're good mates off stage.
Count Arthur Strong: Arthur & John Shuttleworth 0704am 12.7.23 it' be a weird mike leigh type skit without as many laughs... i think my sister dated john's son... hahahaha.... young kid on bon tempi gets a reprimand form his dad and induced much laughter from a neighbour... there you go.
BBC shows that don't get shown on the BBC anymore but Netflix deems it popular enough to buy it in? The BBC are parasites living off the backs of UK taxpayers. Let's not forget that the TV licence is just a tax by another name. A tax to watch your TV with no option to leave.
Love this episode. My favourite bit is when John says his sofa is faux leather and asks Arthur if he knows what faux leather is. They both pronounce it folks leather lol
"I feel we're moving in a Clannad direction.....does that get the juices flowing?" Saw CAS in Norwich earlier this year. A great night out. Niche comedy. I really do
I really wish they'd bring back Count Arthur Strong. Absolutely brilliant character. The last TV comedy in which every single episode had me literally crying with laughter. And yes, there really were urchins!
The tv series was in my view a poor let down from the radio show. Could never understand why we could not have the same characters from the radio to the tv instead,as the count might say,the gormless bunch they ended up with.
Not a lot of difference between the radio and TV versions really. Once you've seen his face on TV and can visualise it when listening to the radio episodes.
@@Cartoonman154 The radio show has more pointless characters, characters that often don't even have names, pop up just to drive the story's narrative forward.
I was due to see John Shuttleworth last year in lockdown sadly gig cancelled good comedy pairing here. Return to real 70s style British comedy like Sykes etc
Now, I like John Shuttleworth, he really needs a tv series, even if it is just a rehash of one off his radio shows... But i really don't see anything funny about Count Arthur Strong...
I would love a TV series starring those two.
Great idea: would they need a straight character up front ? maybe not, just Arthur & John with incidental characters
Bring them back BBC or some one?

Two very strong egos! Musical differences! Spark would fly! Fists even!
Oof! Two comedy heroes combined in a veritable soupover of exquisite taste!
Love the soup over sketch!
They should be in a tv comedy together again, it really works.

Two minutes of brilliance
Wow, not seen this before. Brilliant comic characters. Perfect foils for each other.
Love this episode. My favourite bit is when John says his sofa is faux leather and asks Arthur if he knows what faux leather is. They both pronounce it folks leather lol
Folks Leather from ARGOS! 😂🤣
Jilted John still killin it after all these years.
Now I never new that. You live and learn hey !
Oh yes! I forgot! I'm so upset! Yeh yeh!
Oof. A whole series with these two would be tops!
Two of my fave comedy actors!
Love it. I saw Count Arthur in Lincoln, but I don't think he saw me.
Love these guys...so original and funny. I would love to see Charlie Chuck hang out with them too...
Woof bark, donkey. Woof bark.

I like the dog painting in the back ground, it adds some humour. And the Clannad joke is very funny.
That's John's Scotty dog, Kirstie
Brilliant, more of them together now😊👍❤️
“There is dignity with a potato.” I will surely try my best to crowbar that into a conversation one day. 🤓👌"………………I suspose.
Absolutely wonderful
Two of the greats in one room. Say no more!
What a meeting of minds. Count Arthur & JS only magical things could come from it.
There's no romance to a potato. But, there is dignity...
Barry from Watford is the missing link. What a trio that would have been.
These guys should be on TV
1:01 A pub quiz favourite: what is the name of John Shuttleworth's dog? Kirsty.
This is gold! Even the armature painting of the scottie on the wall. It is not very good but to john it might be considered a masterpiece
The Scottie??? That's Kirsty!
@@simonparker57 the Scottish Highland terrier
@@jimisi7424 Yes, Kirsty.
@@simonparker57 aahh. Not that up on shuttleworth
Legends ❤
What a combination!
Excruciating to the point of bliss!!!
😂
Count arthur and shuttlecock on the same show brilliant 👏👌
Comedy heaven! 🙂
One good song about potatoes?
Surely Monster Mash.
Tell Laura I Love Her...
The Girl From Ipomoea... erm... Goes To Iceland... by the.. erm... B52's...
Madonna's Spanish Lullaby - 'Young girl with eyes like potatoes.'
The greatest comedian of early 20th century Britain.
A meeting of minds.
A great double act,
On one side there is one giant comedy colossusissis and on the other side another giant comedy colossusissis....
I really wish they'd bring back Count Arthur Strong. Absolutely brilliant character. The last TV comedy in which every single episode had me literally crying with laughter. And yes, there really were urchins!
The idiotic BBC won't bring it back . . . . 'I'M AFRAID!'
The Beach Boys sang about them. They even crunched carrots as part of the rhythm section.
Both sadly off our screens. BBC wake up!
You've got Gyles Brandreth, and Michael Portillo, and erm Ed Balls...
How many failed Westminster comedians can a country want???

It was a difficult transition right enough, but the addition of a static cafe worked well, I thought.

Good stuff!!
Potato song? The monster mash.x
Two songs - "You say potato, and I say - potato."
Dee Dee Sharp Mashed Potatoes
Late to the show but “diggin my potatoes “ by pretty much every blues man
Oh man, more of these two please!!!
These two should have a show together?
Absolutely, and a live show!
Was this on Netflix?
I love that painting of kirsty
Jilted John,......Brilliant.
These two remind me of the other.
These two men are both geniuses
This is what happens when Peter Parker messes with different dimensions.
Brilliant 🤣👍

COMEDY GOLD
These two are brilliant togeather. Oof!
The most English conversation ever recorded...
Geniii???
There's your cinematic universe.
Two margarines on the go..
A nightmare scenario for sure David
Us two, George and Ringo am in bit's ha ha
And "You say potater, I say potarter".
This is like Mozart meeting Al Pacino
👍👍
Wake me up a potato clock
I've lots to do today
I love both of these, would love to see it without the laughter track.
500 bus stops
Never really got this show.
Shuttleworth is consistantly hilarious. Not been convinced with the other one.
Jilted John..
This would have been SO much better without the pathetic canned laughter.
They needed it as it's so unfunny
Deedah and Donny...
This should still be on Netflix, but the buggers took it off the air, silly sods. This show was, is awesome, but the yanks don’t get our humour.
Samurai. Clannad. Joyously idiotic 😮 . A poignant,brief reunion and the inevitable, ' creative differences ' 🙃
Notice the audience were only laughing at one character - the funny one !
No, we're not allowed to have comedy anymore.
😂
The laughter track is unbearable
Its not clever.......the potato theme is just too silly. It it was something more realistic and believable then would be r
good in my opinion.
Not fond of either misplaced canned laughter, or an overly enthusiastic studio audience.
It's Netflix, they likely didn't have a choice on that front.
Too white, too male, too stright, and too middle aged for the BBC.
As painful as cancer.
Now, I like John Shuttleworth, he really needs a tv series, even if it is just a rehash of one off his radio shows... But i really don't see anything funny about Count Arthur Strong...
Me neither, he seems a poor rip off of Harry Worth.
To me it's the other way around.
Never laughed at John Shuttle 🥱😴
Shite
Unfortunately nothing with John Shuttleworth is funny
... Ooof!...
Who is funny then?
@@kevinkenny6975 Rees Mogg
Rees mogg is one of a few that talks sense. Shuttleworth was hilarious when I saw him live
As funny as eating a rusty nail sandwich......................awful rubbish...........
This is not as funny as the audience thinks it is.
Is John Shuttleworth and Graham Hall from "Dogs Behaving Badly " the same person
he he ? 🤔🥴😀
