I have the same watch, I got it a year ago with a white dial. Wow, what a timepiece. Keeps the time better than many of my Swiss watches, but the time will tell how good it is.
Pretty sure this is the same watch as the Seestern S382 with the same movement.I own one and it's a gem Unlike this one the entire case is mirror polished which is much nicer. The movement is impressive. Mines showing - 2 with a 0.2 beat error. On wrist it's running about + 1 which is incredible for a watch that cost me 60 quid
I bought a Baltany with a Seagull movement, but I bought it knowing what problems might lie ahead. One of, if not the most knowledgeable watchsmiths on YT described servicing one as a 'nightmare'. There were a number of things that made it tricky, one of which was that the movement is held together by a plethora of odd sized screws, especially on the chronograph. To cut the chase, there is a majority of qualified watchsmiths in Europe who don't want to go near them for a variety of reasons, principally that as they are, in general, produced very cheaply. The upshot is that because watchsmiths give an implicit warranty when they service or repair a watch, they don't want to land in a position whereby they end up with Chinese movements being returned within the warranty period for something else that's gone wrong. As there is a shortage of watchsmiths at present, you can understand that they don't want to go looking for trouble when they've got easier jobs to do. Make of this what you will.
I'm still waiting for hand wind version to drop price. For some reason it is couple times more than this one. I had white version and had issues with telling the time, silver hands got lost on white dial sometimes.
Hey there. Thanks for the comment and support. I believe they have a separate website where you can also purchase the models, a more official procedure if you want to call it that! Thanks again
There's no fool proof way to get a Sea-Gull watch other than going to China unfortunately, they just don't sell directly to the West, you're always going through middlemen otherwise.
There are other Chinese watch companies with heritage. Shanghai Watch Factory is one such case. You can't talk about Chinese watches without considering Shanghai. They produce some really unique watches that you'd never see from a western brand. They're worth checking out if you haven't already!
I agree, there's also the Beijing watch factory worth mentioning. BUT, these two are usually more expensive and harder to find than a Seagull. So in the end it's mostly only Seagull left if you want a "real" Chinese watch (which AliExpress clomages of course aren't) and if you want it to be readily available.
Thanks for the review George, not my cup of tea that style. I have been looking at the Sea-Gull Ocean Star line and they have a signed crown - stylistic wings I think. For the time being not brave enough to punt $600+ AUD for a bit of an unknown 😄
In all fairness there are better options out there for that much money. The budget side of the market is where they shine. Thanks again for the comment and support.
I think the Ocean Star is worth it's money, especially when you manage to get it at some sort of discount. At full retail price maybe not, but who buys watches at full retail price anyway. I own an Ocean Star and it's a phenomenal dive watch. Everything is very well made. You don't get such a well-made dive watch from any other major brand except maybe for Citizen. But the Citizen automatic diver's you will be able to get within that price range will likely not have sapphire crystal and not such a solid bracelet as the Ocean Star. So (in today's market) there is value in the Ocean Star, I think.
In my opinion, the mesh bracelet will always be for gay people or a women. No serious man will use that type of bracelet, since the apple watch they made that for lgbt people.
At the end of the day you wear what you like. Brietling do a thick mesh for one of their divers which doesn't look like it's made for women so .. like I said you wear what you like!
I got mine recently and It did come with just the black stiff bracelet. At first you would think that NEVER is going to take the round form of your arm ! And at a first try that is true ! But with some patience and using day by day, the stiffness comes smaller and at the end I'm pretty sure that is going to be with more endurance and years of use

I bought the white one, and it's so beautiful that I just ordered the black one (£48 delivered to the UK). Bargain of the Year. 🏆
I have this watch and can confirm that it has a saphire glass.
I've got the white one, it's a lovely watch on the wrist.
@@nickhayes4169 My wife took ownership of this one and she loves it! I agree! The mesh suits it so well!

Yeah.. I mean telling time at a glance is not it's forte :)))

Was about to blue hands but sold the watch for good price before.
Fantastic brand with incredible heritage. 👍
Thank you for sharing.
Great looking watch. Just sceptical about purchasing from Ali express! Keep up the great work!!❤

I have the Rodina R005 version of this watch and I am genuinely impressed, it came with a really supple leather strap. Good review
.
Black dial on my Weishi: 28sec., 245 degrees, 0.2 ms, 21600, 52 deg. For $68, I am fine with it.

Would you recommend this as a dress watch?
@@ashliddell2972 would change the mesh bracelet and put something dressier but I would definitely recommend it as a dress watches!
@@WatcheswithGeorge thank you for the info. Will go for it 😁
Wish they can make it under 40mm dim
This is 40mm
Yah I know I was mean under 40mm like 38mm, thanks @@WatcheswithGeorge

More like tacky straight people
I think this statement can be considered just a little bit sexist by today's standard. But I may be wrong here 😂
