    I think in demolding composites is the only time other than wood splitting that THAT is a good sound.... LOL. I can not believe the detail you put into the mold with the panel seams, rivets and fuel fills, that is incredible. To quote Ave. "carefulling"!

    What is the plug made of? How did you get the trailing edge so thin?

    • @renesaenz2825

      Bill Vardouniotis the plug is made of foam. I did add 1/64” ply sheeting so the trailing edges would be stiff and strong. After the sheeting I then added fiber glass and resin to create a hard base layer. After that, I used Duratec primer (polyester based) to give me a hard finish I could polish and then etch surface details.

      @@renesaenz2825 Alright i understand thanks a lot! One more question, why did you make the wing mold in 4 parts instead of 2? (upper surface & lower surface) Is it easier this way to laminate the trailing edge molds later?

    • @renesaenz2825
      @renesaenz2825  5 лет назад +1

      @@billvardou thats a good question. The main reason for doing that was is to have the ability to mold the aileron and flaps separately later if I wished. However, looking back now I wished I'd only done a 2 part mold. I dont feel now the advantage was worth the extra effort to do 4 part mold.

      i'm planning to build a smaller wing out of carbon.
      But if it's possible I'd like to make the wing hollow inside and just put spars in it like you normally would do with wood.
      i'm actually completely new to RC planes and carbon fibre in general so i'd like to gather as much information about it as possible

    Blow pressurized air instead of the water.
