I was born in 67. That car is in way better shape than me, better looking too.
She looked good in the shop. Looks sensational in the sun. Great job Tony!
Tony your childhood excitement throughout the video it was awesome
BOSS... Just seeing it, yes I have thought about coming out.. this has been great, to see.. man .. would seem awesome
Thanks for the tour and a visit to the past. Your Charger reminds me of the 66 hemi Charger I almost bought when I was 19 in 1970.
That exhaust rumble is awesome! Thanks for the ride UT 😁
Yes, that's so important, for old cars; to sound "bad", and smell bad. Like in the old war movie, of the same era as when these cars were first born: "I love the smell of burnt hydrocarbons in the morning,.... it smells like victory!" Or,.... something like that!! LOL ;D
She is looking great man wow tony she look so goos and sounds amazing just happy ya know.!! I bet you felt like you were 18 again!! Fuckn love it brother took me back and im only 44 !
I gotta say I was not sure about the satin black but it looks so awesome and nice. Sweet charger Tony
"first impression is the best" they say. Same for me! LOL ;D
Love the not quite glossy black paint! Perfect!!!
Thanks for taking us on your cruise
This is one of the best video's you've ever done Tony. The car looks & sounds amazing & the tour & stories were very cool. Please do more.
The Charger looks great, Brother!
We can tell how proud of this car you are, it’s great to see. I love that feeling, when everything is working right on your car, and you just get to go out and enjoy it. It’s so much deeper than just driving a car.
Yes!👍
Could not agree more. And you can't explain this to non-car people.
Yes, especially to those who never grew up in the "Detroit Iron" era, they could not possibly understand that a car was more than transportation or comfort, it was your best buddy, and usually much more reliable and faithful than you girlfriend, LOL ;D.@@DakarRaider
Charger sounds and looks great! I’m guessing your 67 had the fenders blinkers removed?
not sure they had them then, I don't on my 67 Mercury Cyclone, but diff car makers did a few things differently, not an expert on Mopar, but like to see them run. My Uncle Mel had a new 64 Polara that he let me drive, when I was a kid, a few times. A 383 and torqueflite 3 speed, a nice "positive shifting" push button automatic!! He sometimes complained that the rear tires looked "a bit worn" when I returned it though!! LOL ;D@@wjb111
Just like back in the old bold and golden days....Man Alive that thing sounds crisp. Looks good too. And the gas mileage on a good Blaster dont matter when you live near a city thats boomin even if its the only 1 left that is. Befitting the old Charger thumped into the town thats been hoarding construction cranes. Quickly brings back the memories when the whole Country thumped.....together.
Car looks great
I was in Nashville for a couple of days in July. The city was so much fun. The Bachelorette destination of the US.
Good to see tony enjoying himself. Charger looks 👌
That was really cool Tony. You should keep doing cruising videos here and there.
I absolutely agree!
Agreed! This was really cool. 👍
Maybe yes, I suppose; but he has to "look the part" for driving a 1967 car. Like we had white Penny's T-shirts, in summer, with black leather jackets, over the T's, and jeans of course, with button, not zipper fly, in wintertime, even in L.A., just like the Fonzie look, ...and no baseball caps! Yes, believe it or not no one had them back in the day, cuz it would mess up our nice greasy do's, all being slicked down with Brylcreem, we be using more than a "little dab" of it. LOL.
And of course, no one but a hippie had a ponytail, and they all drove some kind of van, as a cruising "den", for their smoking "funny cigs" habit. I see Tony has a cig in his nice new old car, Ugh!! That was a really big "no no" too, then, no smoking in your buddy's car, even he would refrain if he smoked, and stop and go outside for a "cancer stick" break, as we called them. I never smoked, (guess that's why I'm still kicking). Well, maybe a few of the "funny little ones" that you "hand-craft", yeah, but, just like old Billy Clinton, I never inhaled, .... not that much anyway!! LOL ;D
There's an almost indescribable connection between our classic cars and Americana. But watching you rave about your city while driving your Charger kind of made me understand what it is. We see and experience the past, present, and future of our world through the windshield (cracked or not), of our old cars. And in doing that, we cherish our history, savor the current, and have hope for what is to come. Carry on brother, carry on!
Yes, I call my old cars, I have four, Fords and Mercs, from the sixties, my "time machines", especially the ones with tunes. Like you say it is not something you can describe to anyone, other than another car guy. And look under the hood, all you see is an engine, usually a big one for the day, and just what is needed to support its function, nothing more. And you know ever function of it, or should, if you drive them today. Try that in your Prius or other POS, or any other import, like our new BMW X-3, which cost an arm and a leg for anything minor mechanical going wrong, that being "done by design" today!!!
And don't even get me started on the electrics, Tony has some good vids on those "things"! ;D
Its the little things that make us happy. Great ride uncle tony.
I think your 67 Charger is stunning the way it is in Hot Rod Black. Being born and raised in California it is cool to see your world and yes to more videos like this.
Big car show in October in San Francisco
@@dogsense3773 I should have clarified Southern California close to Disneyland
Keep the tours going!
great video sir . i enjoyed the ride around .
Glad to see the Charger out and driving around. That Whiskey River Sky Bar looks fun too
Thanks Uncle Tony for showing Nashville! Beautiful city! Nothing better for a car guy than to get her out and runner in her happy place! Car looks great, glad you enjoyed the ride.
That was a great video. You were truly enjoying your self
Looks great!
Nashville is a great city.
Do more videos like this. You need to get out of the shop more often!
That was awesome. Love everything you put on the channel, but this was pretty special. To see you with that grin and the twinkle in your eyes, you were really in your element here. And by element, i mean you were on the road in a car you love, sharing stories and memories while making new ones. Thank you for letting us tag along. Any time you want to share a road trip with us, I'm tuning in.
Twinkle. Yes!
You gotta visit Kooters “Dukes of Hazard” museum too
@@danielbeiersr3642 Went to Lane Car Museum once
Its very difficult to spray Flat or Satin without getting dry edges where the passes overlap youve done a bloody great job give yourself a pat on the back, It looks fantastic John K Aus
As someone who has wanted to own and drive a 66-67 Charger for a few years.......Thank you.
“Life is good.” 😁
It helps when you can finally reap the rewards of your efforts and enjoy the simpler things in this world.
👍❤
I forgot to add the car looks great!! Awesome to see it coming together!❤
Awesome. That's a sweet ride. Thank you for bringing me along.
That is a genuine happy smile
That sense of accomplishment and satisfaction makes all the hard work worth it. The work was fun too.
Congratulations UT! Looks great!
Awesome shot for the video ! The Charger is Killer !
I grew up in those 50s 60s and 70s through my Dads eyes. All Mopar cool nights winning all the street races in a 57' Dodge 392 Hemi 64' Plymouth Max Wedge 69 Plymouth GTX 70'Cuda 440+6. True story
Did he have 100 dollar bill on the dashboard too?
@Wyocutlass71 Yes, Sir! Nobody ever grabbed it either.
Your charger looks great on black, love it ! Nashville one in my bucket list.
Wow Tony, thanks for taking us on this drive. The Charger is just excellent! And Nashville is amazing, so much music and all the colorful stuff, wow! Thanks!
Car looks so damn good Satin Black.
Definitely one of the best vids you've made. Would love to see more of Nashville.
As a 22 year old Springsteen fan working on a dual Holley bbc Camaro hearing a story about my favorite Springsteen so is awesome.
Race cars are fun. Sleepers are even more fun. Driving a vintage cruiser with enough power to make them fun is the cure for depression and anxiety. Doesn't have to be shiny, doesn't need perfect trim and body work, it just needs to do what it was designed to do more than 50 years ago. Put smiles on faces is what it was designed to do.
Every spring I can't wait to get one of the cool vehicles out and go somewhere. Stuck driving appliances and 4x4 trucks that get sacrificed to the sale gods from November to May, and the teasing April gives me with melting snow, then dumping it on us, is enough to suck the life out of me. That first time I leave the driveway in the Cuda or the GTO and head into town feels so damn good, better than almost anything else. Next year I will have more vintage rides to choose from, and even more the year after that.
Life is too short to drive boring appliances.
I was born and raised in Nashville. At 75, I still love it. It is not the small city I grew up in but it is booming.
That was an awesome video! Those of us stuck up north in a boring ass town really appreciate seeing a tour of a far away city.
Excellent job on that one.
Been watching you for a couple years now Tony, I realized tonight why I enjoy your channel so much. The way you talk about car culture reminds me so much of my favorite old car magazine write ups. Which obviously makes sense since you used to make your bacon that way lol. I was admittedly one of the doubters of ur flat black paint job at first, but I gotta say it's looking absolutely killer. Like an old school 'fresh out of the backyard garage' street rod. Two thumbs up sir.
That shot of the Charger and the Parthenon is incredible. I would get that shot framed.
This was my personal Favorite UT video so far. Thanks UT 👍 We roamed all those exact areas in 2010 after KISS Alive 35 at the Bridgestone Arena.
Thanks for the cool driving tour of the city. The Charger is looking good.
The car looks great and those wheels also look good on it.
It makes me happy to see you so happy. I've been to Nashville a handful of times many years ago and loved it each time. Cruisin' in a classic, enjoying that coffee... Those are the same kinds of things I really enjoy as well.
I've watched this twice. This is the essence of the hobby and feeling good about what you do. Been to Nashville 3x and love that city.
Awesome mechanic paint job. I'm in Tasmania Australia so I love your storytelling and getting a chance to see your country through your eyes.
Uncle Tony is living the life!!! Big-time thumbs-up.
I had a 67 Charger that I hit a 7 point buck with delivering newspapers. So on a summer day I took apart the entire grill and had it all over the lawn. In a day I got all the brackets bent back into shape, adjusted all the switches, got it working. Oh, and had to solder the radiator.
Agreed, some of your finest work. Can feel your love for Nashville and nostalgia shining through.
Car looks rad!
You know Ive been close to Nashville 2 or 3 times never got the chance to pull the trigger and just go for the fun of it. its nice to see it thru a locals eyes. and I would love to see some more content like this.
HAVE A NICE TIME!
I enjoyed it!! I went to the Diesel College on Gallatin Road in '93-'94 before it was a Lincoln Tech. Wonderful city. Nothing like Nashville on a summer night. Thanks for the ride, Tony.
Nice video of driving around Nashville. Painting the brake drums on that Charger really made the rims pop. That is a real old school trick back in the day. We usually painted them Chevy engine orange. I liked it so much I bought some paint today and did my brake drums. Thanks for the old blast from the pasted.
Great car , great city , good job .
hey buddy, thanks for takin us along for this,
i really enjoyed the ride thru town what a neat place.
I was just in Nashville this weekend and it was exactly as you said. What an amazing town
This was great! I’m up for another tour any time!
Excellent video! Glad to see you enjoying the fruits of your labor.
Looks good Tony
Love this video! Do more of this please!👍👍👍
14:44. The statue of Athena is amazing. A few years ago My next door neighbor was laughing in a good way when I showed him the pictures. Being greek and a construction worker he says in a heavy greek accent, "I was restoring the real thing." The charger looks awesome!
I love herring all the old story’s and seeing you enjoying yourself in the city looks like I good time
Thank for taking us for a ride you rock
That was awesome! Dennis Collins does food stuff on Coffee Walk so does Gas Monkey! No need to not embrace your foodie side on the channel Uncle Tony!!! Definitely do restaurant and food stuff please please please❤❤❤ Definitely would watch it!!! More tales of your magazine days too pretty please 😊
I love the wheels that car has. Very much of the period, with sidewalls to match, instead of this modern trend towards huge rims with a lick of rubber paint around the edge of the rim to drive on. And that paint job has just the right amount of sheen that it's not flat black, but not high gloss either. Perfecto! 👍
Thanks for the ride along man that’s sweet. You make me miss my 66 barracuda real bad. Have you sourced a replacement windshield yet?
I know it’s off topic somewhat, but My brother used to live in Clarksville about 45 minutes west of Nashville. He wrote for the Leaf Chronicle, the local newspaper there covering Veterans affairs. Beautiful area! ❤
Thank you for the tour of downtown Nashville. That was cool.
Wow! This video took me back to 1974 when I moved to Manchester, Tn. after military and had and 70 Charger R/T 440and would hop in it as drive 60 miles to Nashville. Great live music in many of the restaurants. Cruising to streets in a different era when life was much simpler. America is certainly not the same. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
@15:40 Uncle Tony - YOU are a timeless classic!
Satin black looks super smooth on that ol girl! Just glad to see ya out enjoying it like ya should be, black mopars are beyond menacing😂 🇦🇺👍
Great car Tony, congratulations!!!
To think that a cup holder in most vehicles used to be that part of the seat in between your legs….and now it’s just a question of how many there are per seat.
I love the part where you turn on the headlights Tony, it shows that a project is never done but you don’t have to get everything perfect before it can be enjoyed! I love this stage of project!
Yep! the good old days. A hot cup of coffee a cig and a stick shift
Man that's one of the prettiest cars of the 60s. And yeah man the odd Nashville cruise would be a nice touch
I love it, Uncle T. The whole video's atmosphere had an amazing vibe to it! Even though I'm from the Nashville area and drive through it every day, it would still be pretty cool to see more vids like this. And especially some restaurant vids!!
Perfect video to end my day.
I took some me time and ran errands today all over the country side, spent that time in my old firebird.
That feeling of nostalgia is unbeatable, great video Uncle Tony. Thanks for taking us along
Tony, That red on the drums sets the car off
Everything about this video just puts the smile, and just makes you feel good! Plus the car just makes it right, well done!
3 minutes of droning hum. Thanks for the tour.
I’m 25 miles from a store out in the sticks. Sky full of stars and not a streetlight in sight. I lived in the city for years, this is pretty nice too. It is quite away from the hustle and bustle and a decade removed from a great restraint 😂
I'd love to see more like that.
LOOKS AWESOME
Living in Chicago we’ve long already spiraled past the abyss 😂 Love the bit on Bruce ❤
Beautiful. 👍💪
Car looks awesome. Let’s see some restaurants!
That car looks better outside. The paint and wheels really make that car look good with a edge
The car looks and sounds great. Not a fan of flat paint jobs but this one looks pretty good. Hope you can find a windshield someday. I REALLY enjoyed the trip around Nashville.A Parthenon in Nashville - who knew - well, you obviously ! This video felt like I was on a typical cruise night ! Very cool. !
Oh, Tony! You broke me up when you mentioned the Springsteen song with the fuelie heads on the big block! I remember however many decades ago being freaked out by that really bad lyric. I don't know how many thousands or millions of Bruce fans were disappointed in him with that faux pax. I don't think the Nashville singers would make that kind of mistake.
Anyway, I really love the look of the Charger. It really is one of the nicest looking examples of that type that I've seen. As I said in an earlier comment, the wheels look extremely good with the satin black paint, and the red drums only make it better. But, yeah, you should get a new windshield and upgrade the hideaway headlights from "manual" operation 😄.
Guess again......Brooks & Dunn, Red Dirt Road "Her daddy didn't like me much with my shackled up GTO". Ah......NO. GTO's were coil spring cars. No way possible to have leaf spring shackles on a GTO.
😄@@funone8716 Ha Ha! Thanks for the correction. Musicians should stop pretending to be car guys.
@@kayeninetwo3585 They mean no harm. But to a car guy it turns the song into fingernails on a chalk board. And technically, the 1974 "GTO" (really a Nova) did have rear leaf springs. But who owns a 74 GTO anyway!
I bet that brought back memories of cruising the Streets looking for some Action The Car & City Looks Great Uncle Tony 👍👍
I do everything in my power to stay out of Nashville. Some videos going to some small Tennessee towns down country roads would be a great video.
I had Navy A school in Millington and on the weekends we would hit Memphis or Nashville. Wow has it changed from 1979. So much more built up. Your car is real cool Tony, way to go and thanks for filming your trip and the sites.
Tony…your vid brings big smiles…on you, passersby, and viewers! 👍
A lot of Italians on Staten Island. For example, Vito Bratta. The car looks great. It’s stance and presence, I’m sure it’s eye catching on this beautiful cruise. Good job Uncle Tone!
