Which software will you try? Comment below!
You somehow neglected to promote RecoverIt and Bitwar working in tandem with SpinRite.
Spinrite and recover it.. one of the best out there 😆😆 and best I mean worst
If I were to select a software...
1) Step by step tutorials on MRT/PC 3000 for basic, medium and avanced levels.
2) Please, VNR very detailed videos also step by step, Sir, you are terrific at ir, for sure.
3) Finally, everything you want to share with us... we love to see you back.
My dear friend, Chris.

Thank you my friend! Btw I post videos every day on TikTok, find me there as @forensicguy
@@forensicguy Finally, a fair use for TikTok...
Amazing news.
Thank you for this video. You make the easiest to understand data recovery videos on RUclips. You’re professional in your delivery and no other channel is able to clearly explain everything. Even your flash recovery videos are better than anyone else on this platform. Can’t wait for more videos! You are my favourite tech RUclips creator. Any chances of more forensic videos?
John, I appreciate your good words. I will have lots of new content coming next year, in the meantime find me on TikTok under @forensicguy I post few times a day there.
Great video, I'm looking at getting into Data recovery as a side business, with the hopes of expanding, I know you mentioned it;s a good idea to have all of them however which professional version would you recommend form the list?
Probably rstudio or ufs explorer but if you encounter bad drives, you will need: USB stabilizer or rapidspar. Or if you can afford: DeepSpar
I have a video on USB stabilizer / guardonix. You should watch it. It’s from this year
I've just done something I haven't done in my life...until now. Dumped a BUNCH of data and emptied trash on mac os x from a pegasus r2 drive...each drive in the raid is a 7200rpm hitachi I believe. Sooo I'm gonna have to try this.
Will be great to see a live comparison resilts between all the tools describe👍
i have someones micro sd from their cellphone and they pressed yes to repair on their cell phone formatting the drive which software can i use to recover assuming that it was exFAT. is there a way to clone it first so i dont screw with the master copy
Marry Christmas 🎄 wtfmate
Thanks brother! Merry Xmas to you and family!
Great info here. Do you have a favorite Linux distro, i´ve read about Kali or Parrot for forensics, but my concern is more for data recovery. Thanks.
I used Slackware for over a decade, almost two. Eventually switched to Debian and set it up for forensics and data recovery. You really don’t need to use any of these other distros if you don’t mind setting it up yourself. I plan on making a video on this one day
@@forensicguy Thank you for your attention, looking forward to the video. Thanks a lot for your help.
I can vouch for DMDE :) Shucked an external and chucked it into my rig without backing up first ( I know, I know lol) And my pc said the drive needed formatting before I could use it. Spent the afternoon trying to find a solution and the ones I found either didn't work or the price was exorbitant. So stoked even if it did cost NZ$30
Did it retain folder structure?
@@paulriccio5333 I selected what folders to keep then extracted them to another harddrive. Any subfolders etc within the transferred folders remained in order
okay now that i have the software i need something to put in my ssd and hdd 😅 what can you recommend
How about accidentally formatting a Hard Drive while Installing a New OS?
Someone used my External Hard Drive to Transfer Data from Windows computer to Apple MacBook via my 4 TB External Hard Drive, but after transferring my External Hard Drive shows only 32 GB space (+ some transferring folders), and there are none of my files shown, could someone please explain how to recover hidden or lost or deleted or formatted files in my External Hard Drive
?
Thanks for the review. Have you ever used WinHex?
Yes, I use it all the time. I also have and use Xways, from the same company that makes winhex

Hello, thank so much for this video. Any specific recommendation for an external western digital drive (model Passport ultra). It says "Not readable in this computer" on mac. I tried in different ones, different cables, ports and nothing...
Thanks you very much!!
You need to send it to us for data recovery. Email for quote info@datarescuelabs.com
Hi, which would you recommend for something like a XQD card (similar to SD card) for photos that reformatted and overwritten? I did find just a few photos using disk drill but I am hoping I can extract just a bit more than that somehow with a better program.
You should definitely try rstudio, ufs explorer or zar. However if images in fact have been overwritten, you won’t be able to get much. Definitely look at raw results
@@forensicguy Thank you.
lost partition which program in raid works best? and will it recover my file names too? not just raw files, btw what is a raw file? none of those are correct size and seem corrupt.
Rstudio, UFS can do a great job.
i bought software and i tried reclaiMe, steller and rstudio9 none of them worked at finding anything on my formatted micro sd. the problem i think is that when the phone says fix memory card and you hit yes it doesn't just format if fully wipes the drive and reinstalls its system files onto the drive.
at this point i dont think there is any hope but im leaving this comment just in case you think there is something else i could try.
I have been attempting to use 3-4 programs recommended here for a recovery job. After scanning, it seems like the design of these programs assumes either A) the user wants to recover *all* data found, or B) the user knows the types/extensions of files they want to recover (i.e. only .jpg files). I'm trying to recover a variety of (accidentally deleted) documents that came from a specific folder in on an mdadm raid-6 (QNAP NAS--not degraded) drive. Do any of these programs have the ability to reconstruct the folder hierarchy for the deleted files they find? What approaches do recovery pros use in a case like this?
You should be able to get some of the data recovered using ufs explorer. Reach out to support from ufs explorer. iuri can help you out remotely and if you like the results, you can then decide to purchase the software. In your case you will need ufs raid recovery software. Visit their website and open a support ticket
Just keep in mind that on your qnap the file system is EXT, so file structure is near impossible to recover as it works fundamentally different than NTFS
www.ufsexplorer.com/articles/os-data-recovery-specifics.php
I noticed these programs wipe and clean your harddrive. What program would you use make the data unrecoverable, even by you?
Any software that offers slack space over write. Dban, ccleaner etc
Do these let you preview the files before purchasing?
Some do
latest version of android mobile chip off data recovery video ,latest security patch can possible
how to check the drive to see if anything was written to it before it stopped working? the white light on my wd external drive doesnt come on, it worked on my old pc, not on new one, i tried a laptop i couldn't figure out. please help. I can still rma wd but dont want to until i verify nothing is on the drive.
Was data on the drive before it died?
@@forensicguy I dont know. I have 4 of them 3 are working fine. One won't turn on.
@@forensicguy I need to verify if anything is on it? WD will replace the drive under warranty, but if any files im responsible of getting em off before. because they dont do backup.
@@forensicguy my old pc which it was attached to died in dec last year.
Will R-Studio recover photos and Videos? My External Drive unMounted and won't re Mount no matter what I do. So Before I Purchase it, Id like your professional opinion. Thank You.
Well that depends why the drive unmourned. Could be bad sectors or other serious problems that software won’t solve. You can try rstudio for free before purchase. If you get any time out errors, you need to stop immediately and let a professional lab take over as you might cause more issue or kill the drive. Get the demo version as see what happens
@@forensicguy ok I will get the free version but it unmounted cause I connected it to my iPad Pro and it worked for the first few times and then after that it unmounted from my MacBook Pro. But Thank you for the advice! I humbly appreciate it.
When I boot ReclaiMe It loads then stops responding and stays stuck. Is it trying to load the damaged 1tb external hard drive with 400gb in use I've attached or there's something wrong with the software? It's been stuck for an hour.
It sounds like the drive has bad sectors and software alone wont be enough here because when you reach the area of the drive where then bad sectors are, the bios can’t deal with the time out and freezes. You should try using another software to see if that one freezes too and if it does, you should probably consider sending the drive in to me or a lab like mine that can read the drive using DeepSpar or pc3000.
Keep in mind that the more you push the drive to read these bad areas, you could kill the heads in the drive and then the recovery will be very expensive.
If the data is important, I suggest that you don’t keep trying in your own. If you want to send it to my lab, you can contact me info@datarescuelabs.com
@@forensicguy Bad sectors? I don't really know much about these things. Is there a way I can do this myself? I saw someone clean the circuit board and it started working suddenly.
I got the message I/O device error the first time I tried it and the 2nd time I tried to run it I got "the parameter is incorrect"
Should I run Chkdsk? if all data recovery software fails to do it's job?
No , do not run checkdisk, it will make things worse. Your drive is near failure, that’s why it’s freezing. There is no DIY solution here. If the data is important, you will need to mail it out to a lab like mine.
@@forensicguy Would replacing the circuit board with the same revision work if I'm lucky enough that the board does not require bio?
Would AOMEI Backupper clone work? I don't really want to send it away as it's very expensive until I've tried every other way first.
I'm here thanks to Reddit - wish me luck!
can u boot all of these up from usb?
I don’t think so, but they have standalone versions to run off a USB if you need.
Best practice is to take an image of the hard drive and run it off the image. Check the mentioned sub Reddit for details
@@forensicguy is dmde a good choice? I ran a good scan but dont know how tf to transfer the files to my 1TB external hardrive, whadya think
i have forgot password on my usb sandisk 3.2.What can i do?
Did you use the Sandisk encryption software?
@@forensicguy no
11k watched your video, only 196 likes. Think about what you doing especially how. All best
I know :(
ZAR? what gives?
Which one is free and unlimited recovery service
They’re all paid but it’s cheaper than getting professional data recovery done. Dmde is only $20 and you can try them all for free to see which one works best for you
So what don't you have on that machine? Edit: not being sarcastic at all
I don’t have all the software tools I mentioned in the video on that particular system. I have many computers here and most of these are installed on others. But it was easier for me to film the video there
