Okay, but season 1 episode 3, there's this couple. Older gentleman, younger woman. The woman's first husband walked out and left her with 3 kids. The older gentlemans wife had passed and never had children. They struck up conversations at her work, and he asked her out. They were married a year later. He married for love, i believe, maybe companionship. She married more for security and stability for herself and 3 kids. I dont really think there were any illusions about why either of them got married. He just accepted her and her kids that weren't his, as his own. He was absolutely smitten with her and her pregnancy and being a first-time father. Their baby was black. Mom admitted to the midwife that she didn't know how lucky she was to have Ted when they were first married, and she let herself be charmed one evening while she was out. She's terrified that now that she sees what she has with him, he will leave her. Hes a little shocked when he sees his son, but asks to hold him, and says, "i dont reckon to know much about babies, but i can see how this is the most beautiful baby innthe world... ...ill call him Edward then, good old family name. My son Ted." He's the kindest, most patient, and understanding man in the whole series, I think.
@@BetterMe981 You realize that this story happens in a time where the husband controls his wife right? If she did keep the kid, what do you think would have happened to the woman huh?
@@mama_keikei8081No, she's not. That show was not during our time where we have the protections we have now and could leave if we felt unsafe. She's lucky she still has her current life but not lucky she has him. Edit: Typo.
Well they really haven't... Besides now the woman can walk out. But in this case, obviously, she knew she was gonna have a mixed race baby, so she should have left the men. Way before giving birth, knowing
Basically that's what i'm thinking, But it could be those times where women had no rights and stuff. But then how is there a midwife? I don't know.I need to watch the movie😂
She had cheated and she knew it was not her husband's kid she was not safe and she was trying to have the baby at the birth center and give it up for adoption and claim she had a stillborn. I get some of the stories mixed i have sean all of them there is probably 200 to 300 birth stories. There was another with a wife that cheated with a black man and wanted to hide the baby it had been a marriage of practically not passion and all the midewives were nervous for her and he looked at that baby and was so full of love for his wife and her child despite it being a very dark baby and obviously not his biologically he basically became an adopted dad in that moment and it was his baby and he declared he was the most beautiful baby he ever saw he never acknowledged it not biologically being his baby it was the sweetest thing ever and it was well known in the community they made a reference to the nice Dad in this episode and there was references toward well that is not at all the nature of this dad he wasn't adopting the baby.
Idk. Although, ppl with darker skinned ppl in their family line can have a darker skinned baby. She could be white-passing. Idk, just speculation. Reality is this way.
People in Nigeria sometimes have a white baby and a white person can have a light black baby if someone in their ancestry was black.
Happens in the United States as well
Very true
True, but that was not the case here.
Check the baby properly
Seems the baby has down syndrome
I heard of albino blacks or a white person with dark skin but I never heard of a white person having a baby with African black features...
She tried to hide the birth of the baby even before she saw the baby's skin colour. She probably knew her husband wasn't the father
That's pretty obvious!
@@woahbzzz4823 Yeahhh... Lots of people are saying it's just the skin colour
You are very smart.

It's not this episode tho:(
Yeah..I remember that episode it was good
That’s messed up. She didn’t want to give up the baby so she should still be allowed to have contact with the baby.
If she didn't want to give up the baby then she should not have given up the baby.

Call the Midwife is a wonderful series, very educational stories from the 1960's I think
I would never give up my baby...husband Yes.
shes a terrible human being she knew he wasn't the father
I would try to find some way to get that letter got to the child somehow!
Huh?? By hubby why she cheat anyway 💫
You wouldn't rather just tell your husband you cheated on him, let him leave or whatever, so that you didn't have to give your baby away?? Sheesh.
I believe since she gave birth to a baby with a tan she is of colored descent ….
Or he is....
But why did she panic before gave birth?
@@rrzzppbecause she knew the baby wasn't her husband's. She cheated on him with a black man.
