#podcaststudiogoals! I made sure to take a picture of my current set-up (a small card table, Samson Q2U mic, and basic mic stand that I use with Garageband) so I can look back many years from now and appreciate how far I've come. Thanks for sharing your awesome setup.
Love this video Brodie. My profession is an AV integrator and PM. It's great to see how involved you went and how well you did. Definitely a thumbs up for your setup.
Use a software channel strip with preamp, EQ, compressor, dresser, gate, mixer.pre or post signal. Can do all that on an iPad and if necessary even an iPhone. Good cam and lights.
I used to make videos 10 years ago but the RUclips platform was limited on video and sound so you never saw anything like this. Thank you so much for the info on OBS studio software. I was using a Sony Handycam with a Shure mixer and a 55S mic. Have been wanting to make youtube videos again but my studio is full of junk . It was fixed up to look like a 1950's radio station complete with vintange Celotex hush tone ceiling tiles on the walls.
I'm more of a hobbyist, put took Brodie's direct recommendation on the dbx 286s unit and bought one, as well as a Sennheiser Mk4. Doesn't sound as good as his Neumann setup, but wow, even just spending $500 on a mic and processor.... it does WONDERS for audio quality. Also didn't know that a Camlink was all you need. I have a Sony A7 collecting dust sometimes with some primo lenses... I can put it to good use!
Quick question: I like the idea of using a more discrete earpiece for Zoom meetings instead of huge headphones or AirPods. What is the earpiece you’re using and how do you like them?
Fantastic and informative video. Even though you post most of it in the video, it would be great if you listed the equipment models and links in the description.
You could explain what type of cables you use from the pream dbx286 to mixer signature. you also use audio interface or connect the signature mtk 12 directly to pc. can explain the audio inserts between dbx 286 and mixer
I have to ask an important question, I have built a similar (lower budget) set up how are you going with warmth and smell in the studio hahaha? With no easy to open windows and cameras lights going it can become a not so welcoming environment haha.
haha: that is an important question, especially if you're spending a lot of time in a small space, and during the summer months. I have an air conditioning unit specific to this room... keeps the air circulated and cool when needed. also have a heater for winter months too. comes in clutch.
How can I make a podcast with a guest who is not in my studio because of the distance between us, is it possible to reach a high level of sound without being present in my studio? And if so how?
The quality of this video is insane. Audio, video, lightning, studio, everything. Especially the audio. Amazing.
thank you Phillip!
This is the best sound that I have heard on youtube, wow!
legit!
thank you very much!! hopefully it has even improved since last year.
@@medialiondigitalmarketinga2984 thank you Lance!
Insane sound quality
a trick: you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

I am salivating I’m so envious of the voice recording. Damn.

This was the most helpful video I have found on this so far !!! ❤
Awesome setup! Love the DBX channel strips!
What about that cool audio meter?
What's the big rack meter tho? You didn't cover that one
Good explanations on choosing recording equipment in this video.
Hey Brodie! I'd love to see a 286s review video. I have one but I'm super curios to see your take on it!

This is just wow!!!!! I'm just about to start with Rocaster pro. Please, how do you get a clean Hdmi output while streaming with Elgato Camlink 4k?
Very cool! Could use some of your tips to improve my videos

Great video! What is being used at the bottom of the vu display, however? Very last item on the rack
I think thats a headphone amp. Something like this : www.thomann.de/de/mackie_hm_800.htm
@@levin24 What is above that?
Brian Pearcy Its a db-meter. I think it's the ADJ db display mk II.

@@brodiebrazil Alright might need to put my second camera purchase on hold haha. It looks like you thought of everything :'D
What is the characteristic of the computer to have to make transmissions, record podcasts, edit and the OBS transmit..?
What additional equipment is needed to take a phone call or Skype?
nothing actually, just the laptop I'm already using.
