When demand for roll-on/off-bins (containers like we call them) will grow. It's a relative cheap investment to buy a trailer so you can move two containers at a time. Where I live you see those combinations quite a lot for waste management, wood chips, construction materials,...
I saw one the other day here in Melbourne Australia that was towing a semi length dog trailer so that it could take 3 skip bins to the main tip in one go.
It would definitely make it even more versatile but can’t forget where Ashville’s based. Central London has probably too many tight spots to make that config useful enough
Just a video idea , would be interesting on how you started your company, and how long it’s taken to get where it is, any difficulties you overcame and maybe some of your best achievements. Also how has CoVID affected your business? Keep it up Daniel 💪🏼👍🏼

Hi Daniel. Just some ideas here from Denmark. 20 foot container to rent out for building sites. Buy a mobil roll on malkulator and collect/ malkulate papers by clients directly and they can see old docs are malkulated on site. Make a mobile stage complete whit sound and light systems and rent out for local concerts/ fairs etc. Plenty of ideas here from Steen Larsen, Esbjerg Denmark
hook trucks are great. i used to work for a garbage company. now im out on my own. i hope to eventually get my own hook trucks. amazing for firewood, chipping, demo, equipment hauling, and without any body on they are decent to work on. hook trucks r amazing
Absolutely love the videos. A few things though, I just wanted to say that you are a UNIT! compared to that guy at the start of the video you're huge! 🤣🤣 Another is the breathalyzer feature is absolutely incredible! Huge respect to you and I wish you the best of luck moving on in the future with your business! Keep the videos coming, I honestly can't get enough of them ! 🤜🤛
By mounting a rear view camera you will make the operaters day a 100x better. Then he can easily see the hook and attach the container on the go. Been driving a hooklifter for the past 7 years, and this is a must have. Mount it right on top of where the trailer hitch should be.
Hi Daniel, your an unbelievable businessman you know your stuff and take great pride in every aspect of your company! I just had a chuckle at 0:50 at the size diffrence your an absolute beast haha! Feel sorry for any employee who blows out a days work with a bad excuse haha. All the best mate your going to big places thats for sure!!
Absolutely love your videos and the professional manner in which you run your businesses. You are an excellent and very articulate presenter. We are tracking a downturn in the economy, the market will always issue a correction as we are in a de facto economic bubble. Reduce your spending, because your revenues will slightly decrease as your operating costs increase.
I’d have 2 shallow sided flatbeds with barn doors. Then can be used to drop on site and filled with a tracked dumper or wheel barrows. Also when you start to get busy with the bulk bags of aggregate if you have two flat back with shallow sides you can have someone in the yard loading up the spare flat back whilst out delivering with the other. Saves loading 10 or 12 bags each time it returns to yard.
you also could put a grab on the crane and a tipper body on the hookloader so you have a versatile grablorry with amazing turning radius, ideal for multiple small pickups in city areas. just thinking along with you here
Nice buy and should be good for any steel deliveries to site. The Ro-Ro back will be great for drops on site for any materials that are needed for a days job and free up the lorry for other tasks. I think it’s the future and maybe get a smaller one for the REALLY tight sites.
Well done, a beautiful addition to your ever growing fleet. 1 picky question though, how do you intend on covering a 40yard bin? After all that technology that the truck has to offer, please don’t say a manual sheet/net!!
I drive a brand new Mercedes Arocs hookloader with Hiab crane combo. I used to swap between 2 different vehicles to do various jobs but now all I do is change attachments (can fit a grab) and either put a bin or a flat rack on the back. Mate, not to put a dampner on your enthusiasm, as its your new truck, but its not one of a kind by a long stretch. About 10-12 years ago, I personally drove a Freightliner Argosy 10x4 with a Palfinger 190Z & Palfinger hooklift. All rear axles had duals, bogie drive with cross locks, & last axle a liftable lazy. Cummins 600 & 18 speed roadranger. The hooklift was the model that has 2 joints in the boom so you could pick up extremely heavy containers very close to the back of the truck. It wasn't the straight telescopic boom. Was originally a Guima design that Palfinger bought, if i remember correctly. Palfinger have always been the best in my opinion & still are I reckon, but thats only my opinion.
Daniel, cracking bit of kit, have they restricted the moment in front of the bulkhead zone so they dont crack the cab with hiab, you also want a thing for the crane control to slot into before they can put truck into drive, biggest cost is driven over controls for the crane, i would also have rear cctv on the corners to swap rear swipes, and bigger pads as most tarmac paths you will use , the stabilizers will crack the paths, as mot are laid on soil
Watch out on that magnetic controller they have a habit of picking up bits of metal that scratch the paint and I know you dont want your new lorry scratched needlessly
have you put a reverse camera on it if so have you put at the correct angle so that the driver can see the connection point on the bin so he doesn't have to turn around so much. saves on twisting you're back to see the connection lot easier in tight places so you can keep an eye on your mirrors and your position and the connection to the bin.
Hi Daniel im hooked on your channel just wish it was daily. I realised you said that the driver has to take a breathalyzer test to start the engine. In view of the current pandemic how is that done safely. An is there a work around to prevent a possible spread of germs?. An keep up the good work.
Great video as always Daniel Love the new truck 👍👍👍 Don’t like how the remote goes on the side of the new painted panel that will be scratched to fook in no time Get Yianni to put some PPF on the side for you 👍👍👍👍
If your gonna be using the hiab for site work you might be better off having some extensions put on the outriggers feet, when your on uneven ground you’ll find that sometimes when you put the feet down to their furthest point you don’t have quite enough to level the lorry,it’s either that or carrying sleepers cut down around to put under the pads. Get a small set of 4 leg lifting chains for the bags otherwise the lifting straps on the bags will break and remember MOST bags are rated for ONE lift only. You know that the Driver is gonna need CPCS card and as a company you are going to need to have method statements, risk assessments and a lot of other things in place. Lovely Truck btw but the Palfinger is a baby to the 72T/M and 60T/M I used to use. Great for the driver you have rear steering tho and the alcohol analysis gizmo is a cool bit of kit. It’s been a few years since I had to give up my job as HGV 1 and Crane lorry loader driver on HGV 2 and I worked on Trackside PTS on railway driving 6x2 6x4 8x2 and 8x4 Dafs,Volvo and Scania. Scania by far the best trucks unless we go into the realm of the ERF with the Eaton splitter 😁. I can see by your vids you are pretty clued up but just thought I’d mention the leg ext and the 4 leg chain as a little tip. Best of luck with your thriving business for now and the future.
Nice video, just a crane / truck tip. Ideally when setting up the crane you will have lowered the trucks air suspension if possible (release the air). This prevents the air suspension from actually lifting the truck / outriggers off the ground as you're unloading the truck and it becomes lighter (because your load is being placed on the ground). That would make the truck unstable of course. Perhaps not sure much of an issue for a smaller truck / crane as yours however always good practice. I enjoy your videos and look forward to more. Thanks
Congrats on the New lorry looks very cool, would love to try it out LOL Guessing you have already got your old bins made into equipment flatbeds by now. Looking forward to seeing what you have next.

No need for cranes when Dan himself is an absolute UNIT. Just need a trailer behind him
Strangely addictive. Did you ask for the shortest member of staff to show you around 🤣😂🤣
The little fella is the salesman
Dont know what we would do without u Dan and the rest of the staff, beast of a truck aswell
Can't believe he stuck that magnet onto fresh paint

Never thought of of foil... I would have used a microfiber cloth
i meant a clear wrap
because alot of drivers forget to put something under it or dont care about it at all

Congrats on the New lorry looks very cool, would love to try it out LOL Guessing you have already got your old bins made into equipment flatbeds by now. Looking forward to seeing what you have next.
Your videos are amazing hgv lover , fireman trainer and builder
For customers in you field I've made
Site cabins on a hook
Shipping container on a hook
Scaffolding roll off bodys
Also helped build gritter body for the hook too.
Sorry, but what is a gritter body? That expression hasn't come Downunder.
Lovely lorry seems like it will have loads off work , you need a space to put out cones and a sign as the crane legs stick out?
A mate of mine works for Ingersoll Rand in Texas. He said in 10 years he has never seen a Hiab style crane over there.
could you use the flat bed for sand spreading for winter roads? maybe the bigger roads, may not be so good for smaller roads as it's quite big.
