  • We have tested our fair share of EVs here on the channel, from the famed Tesla Model Y Performance to the new Ford Mustang Mach E. Never did I imagine the impact this 2022 Hyundai IONIQ5 would have on my family (and the world, apparently). Tucker might have wept when last week's Toyota Sienna left us, but I am pretty sure Holli wept when this IONIQ5 left our house for good.
We aren't the only ones who fell in love with this car, the Hyundai brand is on a roll, winning awards left and right for their new vehicles. The IONIQ5 has absolutely run away with automotive awards in 2022.
Here are SOME of the accolades this car has earned:
    • 2022 World Car of the Year
    • 2022 World Electric Vehicle of the Year
    • 2022 World Car Design of the Year
    • Top Pick: EV Family by Cars.com
    • Consumer Guide's® 2022 Best Buy Compact Crossover
    • Auto Guide 2022 Green Vehicle of the Year
    • 2022 Hispanic Motor Press Awards EV of the Year
    • Autotrader Best New Cars for 2022
    • The Car Connection Best Car to Buy 2022 Awards
    • 2021 Popular Science Best of What's New Award

Thank you for sharing your experiences about the Ioniq5🙏
I am waiting for my MY 2023 model which is expected to arrive in November.
A tip for Holly on where to place her phone. In the "door handle", in the slot where you put your hand to close the driver's door. However, it will be without the wired USB connector 😊😊

We were actually “on the fence” on the design style. We bought the SE base model four months ago and have driven it 3,000 miles. We primarily charge at home and charging expense has been a total of $50. Very comfortable car to drive. You can adjust the door opening settings.

On the fence, yet still bought one. Bold
We noticed $0.03/mile average cost of this thing. Toying around with the idea of producing a video comparing the cost to our current ICE vehicles (2013 Cruze Eco and 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk).

@@COSolar6419 indeed. but what if you are looking to replace one of those? ICE or EV? the real question.

@@GTGarageTalk Our primary motivation for purchasing an EV were the environmental benefits. Operating costs and total cost of ownership of an EV are likely to be lower.

Thanks for the review. How is the trunk space? Do you think it’ll fit a double side by side stroller? And a 21 inch luggage?

I can’t say yes definitively, but it has a very ample trunk.
