@@classiclover2129 Okay I was a little bit off with 100 years, more like 150 years. My point was OP said "hundreds of years" as if classical music was as far removed from today as the great pyramids of Gizeh while I feel that this music is fairly recent, in the history of humanity - and also within the age range a huge difference between the older and the newer pieces featured.
I took a look at the ages of pieces in this video. Nine pieces are between 200-300 years old. Nine pieces are between 125-150 years old, and the two most recent pieces are 86 and 26 years old.

@@loizospapaloizou9494 Lots of people.... There's also a decent amount of overlap between the fans of death metal and fans of classical--I know a decent amount of people who listen to both genres. In fact, scientifically it makes a lot of sense--if you are more systemizing than emphasizing, then you are more likely to enjoy genres like metal(because of the heaviness), and in theory you are more likely to prefer very complex styles of music(like classical, jazz, progressive metal, or technical death metal). I say in theory because the scientific literature has not observed it yet, but they theorize that that is the case for people that have an really high systemizing to emphasizing ratio.

@@loizospapaloizou9494 Wow, how closed minded of you.... You are clearly either not ready for it or completely misguided on what it is.... I used to hate death metal, but now it is the genre I listen to the most... I used to think death metal was just bands like "cattle decapitation", "napalm death", etc. But, I've failed to see the beauty in it--like, some of the best examples of that beauty are "story to tell" or "flesh and the power it holds" by Death, "subtle change" by Rivers of Nihil, "crack of light" by Vintersea, "forget not" by Ne Obliviscaris, or "Apparition" by Spawn of Possession. I get not liking metal screams, but it is an acquired taste that once you get used to sounds absolutely amazing. Like, I used to hate harsh vocals, but now I absolutely love it.

I have ADHD and I have the hardest time trying to find music to listen to while working. I have to listen to instrumental music because lyrics distract me to death, but often times instrumental stuff is either way too chill (and bores me to sleep) or way too frantic (and sets off my anxiety--I can't win). This is perfect and gives my brain the dopamine it needs to help me stay focused and in a good productive mood. It's auditorily exciting without being distracting. Thank you so much for this!

I'm guessing they didn't want to be too on-the-nose by including Shostakovich; he's one of the composers that immediately comes to mind when I think of classical music sounding like metal.

Also Mahler, Orff, Verdi, Bruckner, Wagner, Strauss, Stravinsky ... weirdly most of my go-to noisy composers are missing. I would guess that by classical they mean classical (late 18th to early 19th centuries) except for the Vivaldi, which is Baroque, and the Prokofiev, which is modern...

This is by far the best playlist for focusing of all time. Thank you very sincerely on behalf of the adhd community, and anyone else who suffers from executive dysfunction.
