Thanks a lot Jimmy, please share with us this kind of keepa training it was so easy to digest! This information is fulled of golden nuggets!! Thank you much again!
Thank you for this video! It was extremely helpful!! I would love more Keepa training videos! Deep dives into more of Keepa's features, more examples of products and their Keepa charts and why you would/wouldn't buy that product, etc. Love your channel!
Good stuff Jimmy! I agree with Chris Yates - variations are difficult for me as well to analyze - if you could have more examples of these, that would be awesome. Thanks for the help.
Great content as always! I find variations to be difficult to understand consistently. It would be helpful to have more examples of how to analyze these on future episodes. Thanks again Jimmy!
I don't know if you will ever be back on this video again but if you have a moment it would be appreciated. My brain is having a hard time for some reason wrapping around the "new" line which is probably super simple. Is that just when someone new comes on the listing and what they price it at? I guess I am not understanding the difference between the new line and the BB line. And is it necessary to have the new line on when analyzing? Thanks again :)
The New Line is for the lowest price on a "new" product and that is typically going to be the Fulfilled by Merchant price. The Buy Box takes into account both the FBA/FBM sellers
Typically it's based on sales, but there are definitely other factors like changes in a sales rank due to Amazon making category or listing changes. Ultimately I look for items that have a consistent sales rank fluctuation because then it passes step 1 of my Keepa test which is "does it sell consistently?"
Hi Jimmy. If you were just starting out, would you sign up with amazon as a sole proprietor using your social security number, or get an LLC? Also, should I sign up under my personal seller account, or get a new email and not link the business account with my seller account? If I do it separate, I would probably need a different phone number as well? These questions are the things holding me back from getting started. Thank you for a great video and may God bless you for sharing with us!
Well I'm no accountant or lawyer so consult with them. My personal opinion is that if you're serious about making this business work for you, then set it up as legitimately as possible with an LLC, business bank account, etc. But ultimately, getting started is the only way to make it work! So don't let these things hold you back! I have the same personal phone number though and no business one btw, but some people do elect to get a new number for business.
If you pay annually I believe it's about $209ish for the year which would be $17.41 per month. So if you're serious about this business, it may be worth switching to annual by the way :-)
Jimmy, on page 13 of your Keepa guide, it says "FBA price is consistent" so the orange triangles for sure means sales? Or just fairly a consistent FBA price being held significantly above FBM assumes they must be selling at that FBA price? The FBM has a line which makes it look like that is the price sales are at. So I'm slightly confused.
Hey! FBA price being consistent has nothing to do with sales. The Sales Rank Line and the New Offer Count line help you to know if it's selling or not. The price being consistent is important because the more stable it is, the better opportunity you have to know you won't lose money on the product. It isn't guaranteed but the price being more stable gives more confidence in the product you are buying.
@@AskJimmySmith Sorry, my question wasn't very well phrased. I'm just trying to find out how you know there are FBA sales without a buy box to show you the price the product is selling at. Maybe the sales are going to FBM sellers.
@@MrWhiltetail Oh ok, you can click on the Data Tab and check out the Offers to see what Keepa believes is selling the most for the sellers. It's NOT perfect but it can help a bit. Typically if the FBA sellers are priced consistently, you can still get sales without a Buy Box. But I would just test smaller quantities to see if that is true in the specific ASIN you are looking at.
@@AskJimmySmith Ok, I knew you could use the data tab for more info but on your pdf I couldn't do that. All I can see is the graph so I was confused how you knew there were any FBA sales. Let alone consistent FBA sales.

This was very informative. Question: what other factors play into sales rank drops? It feels like there's more to the algorithm.

FYI $21.62 is the current Keepa monthly price. I subscibed in Jan 2022 and my 2 billings so far are for that amount.

I use Keepa, but I only have 2 Keepa boxes to view. How did you get 3 Keepa boxes?
In the bottom right corner, there is an option for "More Historical Data" if you click that, the 3rd box should open up :-)
