Hey Joshua first off thank you for EVERYTHING. We received our order yesterday and the shirts are top notch. We brought our new battle buddy his shirt and a rod and reel combo yesterday and he was ecstatic. He has been home for over 3 months never leaving his property. Last night he put on his new salty scales shirt smiled said he felt sexy lol. 2 hrs later myself and 6 other wounded vets were on the water ripping lip. Mostly hard head, and stingrays were all we were catching but it beats the heck out of sitting home reliving the Iraq war. We are diligently searching for more Houston area veterans to get out and join our fishing crew. Thank you Josh and salty scales you have changed the stars of 7 wounded and disabled vets. Keep up the outstanding customer service and best performance fishing shirts on the market. Lifetime fan and customer ty.
We appreciate your comment very much and we are very happy to be able to help in any way we can. We appreciate your service and sacrifice and pray that you all find peace. Tight lines!
Kyle cotter is the lucky winner of the baits, please email your shipping information to info@saltyscales.com. Thanks for playing and stay tuned for more. 👍
Hey Josh.. Great video my friend.. I keep saying I'm gonna try the Skyway pier, but it's all new to me.. Your videos have helped a ton so it's not so foreign.. Great work and always informative.. Always your friend, fan, and subscriber..
Great video as always!please keep the pier videos coming. Can you please make videos on rigs for Sky way pier to target certain fish? We will truely appreciate it. Everytime we go there me and the kids ends up getting 100 pinfish lol
Great video Josh. It makes it nice when with just a lil work, you get the reward of catching your own bait AND Not having to pay for it. Btw, where was Chris? I thought he was the designated "bait picker upper/declawer" I guess he was out sherking his "first mate" dutys Again! Lord knows I have not seen a short video with him holding a piece of paper..... Be Well and good Luck fishing! 🎣
For the sabiki rig I never reel it up that quick. Once you feel a bite set the hook and leave it down. Once you feel something like another bite set the hook again and do this for about a minute or until you can feel that you have more than one fish. Typically I can hook at least 3 pinfish every time doing it this way
You can definitely do that but you run the risk of tangles when white bait strike. I prefer not to deal with it and most of the time you catch multiples without even trying.
That extra long shrimp dip net is awesome. Is there a shrimp run close to shore here like there is on the East coast? Thanks for all of the how to videos they definitely help to take the fishing up a notch.
Hey Josh, love the videos! That amazon link for the net is dead. Searched but couldn't find another 18' on there. Where else could I get one in the St. Pete area or online?
Capt. Joshua I know you're a busy man living life educating fishermen like myself if you get time I emailed you a picture of my penn rod if you can direct me to which one of your reels will be best fit. Thanks again
A well presented presentation Josh..You are very articulate and your photography is spot on ..I’m in NE and it’s a drive to the beach 🏖..Your lucky .Keep sharing your knowledge with your followers..Do you have a recipe for SCUP..I’m trying to replicate LOBSTER 🦞..TU ..Bob Peck
Thanks Bob, I am glad you like the demonstration. We are lucky to have such an amazing fishery if I am being honest, I personally don't have recipe but I can ask fellow anglers.
@@Saltyscales thanks bro, i thought in Melbourne, victoria, Australia somewhere, i live here, thanks anyways, much appriciated, I am new to fishing bit exited at the lockdown time, cant do much, other than getting the gear ready, thats what i am doing now.
I used a Sabiki rig at a pier one time and a Skate grab it a wrapped me around a pylon and broke me off, I saw him breaching trying to throw the hooks off the end of the pier......😁
Longview garage were located in same area probably fishing a lot of same places. If you know any disabled or wounded vets that need to get out and start living life and go get some lines wet it would be a pleasure to meet them and get them on the water. If you do please email me @ Iraqveteran1982@gmail.com my crew and i are always looking to expand our fishing club. Sadly Houston area is full of unnoticed forgotten warriors that are homeless or have a home and never leave I was one of them. Fishing has changed our stars greatly improved my mental health and my relationship with my family is stronger than ever. There are too many vets that have lost hope and gave up on all the simple freedoms we should all be enjoying because they have no support system. If you know a vet get him fishing if you cant please send him my way I will do my best to outfit him with a rod reel combo a cold drink and a salty scale shirt. We get a line wet almost every week. Thanks for taking time to read and please feel free to contact me at anytime.
At 4:20..what I do or would do is put them fish in a bucket with sea water & an airrator or air bubbler to keep the fish alive..live bait is & always will be the best bait..jus what I would do to catch giant predator fish..
Hi. Joshua, I’m late for the prize? One more thing, if you have a video of throwing the cast net, can you want to send me, please? I like you metod, look simple. Thank. And getting success in your channel.
I had to stop throwing my big net out there, I always seem to throw it when the wind is blowing Dorothy back to oz, lol it just closes up. My go to is a sabiki to catch bait, it takes longer but I don't have to sling a heavy net lol
When we reach 250 likes and 100 comments, I will pick a winner for a pack of Zman's.
l do that bro

Love you Joshua, I like tipping the hooks with squid, it’s cheaper, works as good and stays on for multiple pins/grunts
Squid works great also.
Love the spiderman gloves😂👍🏻
They are the secret to my fishing success. 😂

@@rdo075 yes sir, we will be scheduling Rick this month.
Excellent video! No shortage of bait this time of year. Great tip about keeping the baits on ice, wouldn't have thought of that.
Nice video. I definitely want to try the net but think i will stick with the first method on the skyway. Thanks again Josh.
Sabiki is the easiest for sure.
Awesome tips and tricks!
Thanks For Freddie
And I struggle getting bait. Loosing cast nets over the side to pilings. Breaking off on the pilings etc. Awesome video. I needed this video 😂

You're welcome, the spinning technique is very effective. Let me know how you like it. 👍
Never seen the spin method before, I'll need to try it sometime
Give it a try, it works great from a pier.
Loving those gloves!
We have them coming any day. 👊
Good video Josh. Catching bait is just as fun as catching the fish sometimes.

cool for me one rod and a reel ... greetings from Indonesia.
Never tried that spin method; I’ll have to try that 👍
You may end up using that more than the pitch.

“Always here to support my fellow RUclipsrs , keep it awesome 👍 lots of love and respect ❤️
Great video Capt. I like the suggestion of ice on the bait. Is that a weight on the end of that sabiki line?
Yes, use a weight for sure.
Sweet way to catch bait 😎🎣. You had an audience of bird's eating your bait 😀.
You are not joking, they act like they have never eaten before.
Great tips! 👍🏻

What size cast net do you recommend for the skyway?
3/8 10 foot works best for me.
Where is this video located?
Skyway fishing pier in St. Pete
I just subscribe as soon as i saw the skyway behind u lol i always fish in fort de soto or there too, thanks for the tips 👍👍

Great Video .. can we use Sabiki rig with a float ... ? would not that be a better presentation for surface bait fish ?
Can you do a vid on how to catch mangrove snapper?
Absolutely
Hey Josh, love the videos! That amazon link for the net is dead. Searched but couldn't find another 18' on there. Where else could I get one in the St. Pete area or online?
I remember the morning that bridge got hit, glad to see its getting some use. How would the kayak fishing be under there? Thank you
You can kayak it on calm days, but you really have to be cognizant of the weather, it gets nasty quick.
What size sabiki ?
Size five or six works just fine.
Out of curiosity, why put them on ice immediately?
It keeps them from getting mushy and decomposing. They go bad quickly in the summer heat.
Capt. Joshua I know you're a busy man living life educating fishermen like myself if you get time I emailed you a picture of my penn rod if you can direct me to which one of your reels will be best fit. Thanks again

Simplest way and very effective.
I use the S. rig with shrimp but this is the 2nd time I've heard about taking the shell off the shrimp. Looks like I'll be skinning them.
It seems to help them stay on the hook better and aids in the hookup process.
What's the name of that pier I was in fl the other over that way and seen it
Skyway fishing pier 👍
Chris got first again. Stop giving him the posting schedule! 😂
He has those notifications on, I'm gonna start giving away free lures to those who get here first. 😎

I prefer using little squares of squid... they stay on like you wouldn’t believe
Squid, shrimp and baitfish all work well. You can even just add pieces of Gulp.
