@@aang6421 for a healthier and easier option you can roast them on a baking sheet at 425 until nice and crispy, for a more true to fast food option you can deep fry them in the oil. If you fry them, let them rest a bit, then fry them again, then toss in the seasonings directly after frying they will be extra crispy and delicious. But the roasting is much easier and healthier. If I roast them I season them before cooking, if frying I season directly after.
Add some onions to that pile, and some milk, and potato soup is also an option. And lots of other things. Potatoes and onions can be used together in lots of different ways.
It's like these people don't understand that spending 150 dollars one time every 2 weeks or even weekly on groceries is FAR cheaper than spending 15 or 20 bucks twice a day on fast food.
Thanks for saying bartending requires skill. Sometimes I feel like a failure as an adult because my path lead me behind the bar. But I really do love making cocktails. ❤
Dude, bartenders are awesome. It's not an easy job. Between the long, physical hours, the people you deal with, and the mental energy needed. You're always ON. You're doing awesome!
One of my friends got a job waiting tables while he was in college. He eventually started bartending and by the time he was done with school, he decided that he wanted to continue bartending because he just really enjoys it. He loves the social aspect of it and even on his time off, he’s learning to make different drinks and experimenting. As long as you love what you’re doing and you can take care of yourself, don’t worry about what you “should” be doing because everyone’s path is different.
You know what’s not in the pie chart? The money he should be giving to support his child. You know who’s not just giving “what I can” to take care of his child? The mother. Absolutely disgraceful
I thought he was just doing this as a joke, then the kid came up and im like.... WOW! What a father, lifes a joke but you got a little one to feed... sad sad.
Because a child is on SSD doesnt mean you dont have to still pay for the child, that is for their added needs and therapies, not basic care, thats still on the parents. Not like mom gets a discount when she takes care of little man
It’s frustrating listening to someone almost in their 30s blame their money mismanagement on the fact that no one ever taught them. That’s such a poor excuse. No one taught you how to DoorDash but you seem to have picked that up pretty well.
Exactly! Even if it is true the adults in your childhood didn't properly teach you financial discipline...you can't go your whole adult life blaming it on them. At some point you have to teach yourself and change your life
@willmahan4161 I bet his parents didin't teach him how to set up streaming on Twitch... yet he did figure that out by himself. I wonder how he did that? Maybe an angel gave him that knowledge overnight or...he googled how?
Did this dude literally say he bought groceries and then....ate them all...as a way to justify going back to doordashing? Does he not understand it's a recurrent task that needs to be completed?!! I cannoooooootttttt.
Fr, like does this dude also think "i put gas in my car and it did work and I drove around for a week, but then I used all the gas and now my car won't move anymore so I have to uber everywhere"
He lost me at the groceries. If you are broke and facing homeless, you don't worry about enjoying your food, you worry about surviving. When I was broke and surviving, I took the bus to the grocery store. Plain oatmeal for breakfast(no milk), PB&J's for lunch with a piece of fruit as a splurge. 2x a week I made a cheap soup or pasta dish with no meat that I could eat leftovers on for a few days. So, I don't have a lot of sympathy for someone that doordashes food and claims to be broke.
Beans and rice with cheap protein (like turkey), a bag of frozen vegetables + a random seasoning. Make a big pot of that and portion into containers for the week. It’s like $12-15 for a dozen adult sized portions. Does it taste great? Ehhhh. Is it nutritious? Yes.

Idk if it’s like this in Texas, but if he wasn’t paying insurance, he probably wasn’t able to update the car’s registration either. I was stuck at home for months last year because I was injured and couldn’t drive at all. So when my insurance plan ended (company was sold and policies changed), I didn’t bother renewing or looking for another company right away since my car was just sitting in my driveway. When I got the notice to renew my registration, it also notified me that I had to show proof of insurance otherwise I wouldn’t be able to renew. So that’s when I had to shop for a new policy and I was able to renew my registration like a week later. So yeah, if Texas requires that drivers have insurance in order to renew their registration, it’s extra embarrassing that this guy was flexing a BMW while having no insurance or current tags 😂

I would like to give a shout-out to my thermos. I take things like soup and beans with me to university. The food stays hot until I eat it somewhere on campus, and saves me from buying food from the cafeteria. This post was inspired by Caleb’s passionate rant about sandwiches.
Here’s the insane thing. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world. My partner and I eat out around 2 times a week and do groceries the rest of the time. And it’s still less than 1200$ per month!! What is this dude ordering??
Doordash and food delivery is such an incredibly luxurious way to spend money. I'm in my 30s, and I still struggle to understand how "normalized" delivery has become. This shit was NOT AROUND 15 years ago. And now people act like it's a goddamn need. I mean sure, we always had pizza delivery, but even in my early 20s, no one was ordering pizza delivery every day. Sure, they'd go out to eat every day, but delivery itself is an incredibly privileged service to be having.
I hate to talk shit about my own, and newer generations but folks are ignoring the financial cost and forgetting how to grocery shop and to cook - a basic life skill - for the convenience of getting food delivered. Are people getting that lazy or stupid not to see the bigger picture here?
@@rtre957 I think that speaks more to our terrible food system and most people's lack of access to healthy, affordable foods all of which is intentional. I will never understand it and I used to do food delivery. Almost everyone has the ability to drive to get their food. Most people only order from places less than 20min drive from them anyway, and the cost of their order would basically double if they paid for delivery after all the fees+tips. It really boggles my mind. Also the food usually gets cold before it gets to you anyway 😅
I’m 21 and can’t believe it. I only ever instacart if I’m in need of something I can’t go get because I’m wheelchair bound. It was shocking how the son was such an afterthought. But when a person is using expensive delivery food and clothes as a mental crutch/cope it shows how selfish they are. So I guess it shouldn’t be surprising they are selfish in the support of their offspring, too.
Why is the child support payment not included in the budget at all? His child’s mother needs to immediately have the courts put him on child support and have them vacuum the payment right off the top of his paycheck every month.
I wonder if she isn't pursuing it because she worries that if she gets child support, that opens up the possibility that he could get visitation. I've known women who have done that to protect their kids from dads who are wildly inconsistent, drop them off with new girlfriends, if they show up at all
@@staceyy6064This is something I don't understand; not putting dad on child support for fear of visitation. She probably just doesn't want to deal with his nonsense.
It’s crazy how often I see people with cheap rent overspend instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to put away more money. Then when that situation ends, they’re panicking.
I came from a consumer household. My mom always having Amazon deliveries and she was purchasing even more when she got her motorcycle. She did instill the same values onto me and things were “I’ll just put it on my CC and pay it whenever” for a while. And when I got in over my head by maxing out my credit card at 5k at 21yo she just said “welcome to the real world.” I realized she had no money, at 53yo and had a mortgage, rusting out car, a 25k motorcycle, and credit cards up the yaza. She then didn’t have money for a roof replacement so I lent her 1500 and I was broke. Thats when I learned that I can’t get stuck like that. My mom was relying off my sister and I to house her when she gets old. She has no retirement, only 45k that lost 15k during covid and hasn’t recovered. As far as she and my sister know, I’m a broke 26yo. I’m too paranoid to have them know how much I make.
Don't ever tell her. Her bad decisions are not your responsibility to amend. Gotta take care of yourself before you can take care of someone else, and thats if you even want to
“That’s why I’m here! You’re here to save me!” No my man, he’s here to show YOU how to save YOURSELF. That’s the real problem, thinking that no matter how bad he messes up somebody will come along and fix it without him growing at all or correcting any of the actions that led him here.

Is NOT considering moving back to where he could be near his son because he wants to create content and potentially be homeless? These dead beat dads have it so easy, I can't even stand it. Where is the DRIVE and MOTIVATION to be near your CHILD??? I truly don't get it
It’s really sad that his proposed budget doesn’t include “I pay what I can” fund for the son. I hope he gets taken to court and the child is made a priority. It was super cringy when he said that him visiting and being in his sons life was the support. What a man-child.

Gotta take care of yourself before you can take care of someone else, and thats if you even want to
You sound like the real problem, push over with a victim mentality. Do better
Way to break the cycle!! Congrats and wishing you peace and prosperity❤❤
God damm that rough but ya you first then family second when your doing better and if they can change
“That’s why I’m here! You’re here to save me!” No my man, he’s here to show YOU how to save YOURSELF.
That’s the real problem, thinking that no matter how bad he messes up somebody will come along and fix it without him growing at all or correcting any of the actions that led him here.
Yes!!! I wish Caleb responded exactly with that.
Yeah his “your here to save me” excitement was so cringe
“I can’t afford groceries!”
“Then stop ordering door dash”
“But I gotta eat!”
Why is this mindset so common…..
They are lazy pretty much, sadly.
I seriously can't fathom how normalized door dashing every meal is for some people. I'm convinced if doordash didn't exist these people would starve to death, they just simply cannot understand any other way to obtain food.
Here’s why:: in 2012 I took the train through Russia. Russians don’t afford restaurants and they can’t. And it’s normal there. In america for 5 decades Americans have been “affording” to eat out. Americans are NOW needing to stop that. But their brains are so absolutely stuck in the past

Is NOT considering moving back to where he could be near his son because he wants to create content and potentially be homeless? These dead beat dads have it so easy, I can't even stand it. Where is the DRIVE and MOTIVATION to be near your CHILD??? I truly don't get it
My jaw dropped when I heard that, like... Wtf. And talking about door dash for 30 minutes.
It’s really sad that his proposed budget doesn’t include “I pay what I can” fund for the son. I hope he gets taken to court and the child is made a priority. It was super cringy when he said that him visiting and being in his sons life was the support. What a man-child.
"clothes are part of my personality so i should spend more on them"

Wanting flashy clothes is also a stereotype, though not as bad as the not raising their kids. This young man needs to be on proper court ordered & supervised child support payment plan. The mother needs to make him assist on taking care of the child they both made.
Dude mentioned having manic depression (aka bipolar). This conversation seems very manic, so I’m not sure how effective this conversation will be for him. Best of luck that he’s able to approach it with a level head later
Right, the way he's talking and his priorities, plus how he also says he's very depressed. It's exactly what I'm like during a mixed episode. And mixed episodes are definitely a huge part of my current financial situation. I think he really needs to go to a therapist and psychiatrist if he's dx'ed bipolar. Otherwise it'll get more out of control, and seem impossible to get out of the hole he's digging.
I can't think of why else fries and streaming is a higher priority than his son and the mother of his child.

To see him say hi to his dad. But doesn't pay child support to his child ridiculous.
"You're defending dumb choices which makes you dumb." some people just can't handle the truth.
I keep seeing this pattern of Caleb saying something like "You need to spend less on food" and the guest says "Oh, so you don't want me to eat!??". In their mind, the options are spend $1,000/month on food or not eat at all.
With that kind of mentality, I have to wonder if this guy suffers from BPD.
but have you heard of nacho fries?
So lazy
This is my wife’s argument lol.
It’s like they don’t think it’s possible to buy groceries in bulk and cook meals at home. So many people are lazy and like to act like their wants are needs.

It always takes me so long to actually think about ordering door dash . I keep telling myself it’s not worth it
I did the math once with a 12 taco supreme pack from taco bell.
Doordash: $25-35
Drive Thru: $12-13
It's wild that people don't realize how expensive doordashing your stuff is. Even if you still choose to get fast food, that's gonna cut that cost down by a lot getting it yourself.
For real. If you’re broke and hungry do DoorDash grab t your own food while making money.

Any time someone uses the words “pretty much” or “basically” when describing their profession, I immediately know they do not have the licensure for said profession. He is definitely a para or a certified behavior tech. He is NOT a behavioral therapist or a teacher
I can’t speak for this dude, but when I was a TMS tech, I either explain the entire pre-surgical work up process and my role in it, or I say “Basically, I shock your brain for a living.” I usually went with the latter unless the person was in an adjacent field (EEG, IOM, etc) or seemed interested.
Especially making $18 @ 29 years old. Man is pathetic
I don't think that's fair to others
To clarify, I am referring to describing their title or the actual profession. For example, a healthcare worker stating they are “basically a nurse” while not having that licensure. We’re not talking about describing your job duties. He said he was “basically a behavioral therapist”. This is an unbelievable and dangerous conflation of what his qualifications are.
@@ToastbackWhalealso an example, you referred to yourself accurately as a TMS tech, not “basically a neurologist”. Cool job by the way!
FYI - eating cheap and healthy go hand in hand. I eat tons of plain Greek yogurt, muesli, oatmeal, spinach, fruit, and soups. Those are ALL cheap and last me at least one week if not longer.
Soup is easy, filling, insanely versatile, dirt cheap, usually pretty healthy, and can last a whole week. And if you're lazy, there are about a thousand different soups you can make in a $30 slow cooker with about five minutes' worth of effort. Soup is basically the ultimate food.
It's insane how people still don't understand its so much cheaper to do some basic planning (buy bulk) and eat healthy

Bravo Caleb for suggesting counselling. This guy really needs it.
Child support or legal obligations like alimony, etc., needs to be asked about and included in the budgets. This budget is enabling him to NOT pay for his child and his responsibilities which is NOT what financial audit is about.
I have a feeling he does not have a legal obligation for child support (def not alimony given his salary). Not sure exactly what arrangement he has with the mom, but the way he talks about it and they deal with it, it doesn't seem like it's a legal obligation (even if it is a moral one)
That would probably get added in the personal budget they make during the budgeting course no?
@@sinead7206 During the course, but I’m saying in the video it should be included. It should be a standard, at a minimum, to hold people to their legal obligations and responsibilities. You can’t just say “oh well my kid doesn’t fit my budget” and just not include them in any aspect.
