      Well aside from going insane because humans are not built "sturdy" enough mentally to handle it in my opinion, have you ever considered what you are going to do during 1000 years? The boredom after a while would be worse then death.
      Aside from that 100 years or so is the average time it will take for you to encounter a deadly accident so you would still die well before 1000 years.

    • @cjs4456
      @cjs4456 8 лет назад +31

      ***** "aside from going insane because humans are not built "sturdy" enough mentally to handle it", this is extremely subjective and lacks any scientific substance. However, to answer your question, yes I have absolutely thought about what I would do with 1000 years. If you could become bored of life in 100 years, you are living a very sheepish life. It would take me at least a thousand years to fully experience and learn everything I'd like to. Furthermore, being a computer engineer, the science and understanding of this existence combined with the insane acceleration we are seeing now in what we humans are capable of would be enough to keep me motivated to live. Again, your 100 years for a deadly accident "statistic", is just no... not to mention we are now in the beginning age of automated cars, which would nearly obliterate "deadly accident" statistics. The world is changing immeasurably faster than ever before due to technology, and boredom can't exist with that kind of change.
      This was way too much writing for a youtube comment so good day.

      I respectfully disagree but if you want to live a fulfilled 1000+ years of entertaining life then all power to you. It would be insane of me to be against another persons happiness after all even though I think its extremely unlikely if not impossible.

    • @Alistair
      @Alistair 8 лет назад +17

      +Buddha Skouson boredom more depends on the person. Someone with lack of purpose in life will get bored easily because they rely on short term emotional highs as the only good things in their life. People who enjoy learning and creating things would enjoy being alive much longer. I agree with you that there is so much that I want to do that I simply don't have the time for!

      They are actually real and the only one of these ideas that I know to exist.

    • @simplylinn
      @simplylinn 8 лет назад +12

      You're correct! I do have a magnet in my finger and as far as I know, I'm real and exist.
      Anyway, it's not as grandiose as the video make it sound. Basically, you put a magnet somewhere (I have mine in my right ring-finger), and that magnet will respond to magnetic and electromagnetic fields by vibrating or being pulled in a certain direction. The electromagnetic field in a live wire is... well very very minuscule, the sensitivity of the magnetic sense will increase with time as internal scarring decreases and nerve-endings get repaired, but I just recently started to be able to sense the wire to my computer system (a wire under semi-heavy load). I would not in any way, shape or form trust my magnet to tell me whenever a wire is dead or not. However, if I get a "tingle" in my finger, I can tell that it's live... What's major fun though, is the rather powerful electromagnetic oscillating fields some transformers put out. I can sense certain microwave ovens from relatively far away (given that they are currently microwaving), as well as some phone chargers and stuff.
      Also, picking up small metal objects is a fucking great party trick, and picking up small screws when I tinker with electronics is a godsend.

    • @MrSuvvri
      @MrSuvvri 8 лет назад +1

      lol its the same as if you would glue a magnet to your finger... its not connected to your nerves in any way it just "pulls" your fingers/skin toward the magnetic thing you are near

    • @RossmoyneSkate

    No. 4: As someone who did extensive research on the subject, because i wanted to do it myself, that's kinda wrong. You don't actually gain 6th sense (that's wrong in itself, as there are way over 6 senses humans have), it's basically just a sense of touch. For first few weeks after implantation you don't feel anything, because nerves need time to heal, after that phase is over the scar tissue is surrounding the magnet. Then, when there's a magnetic field nearby, it tugs on the magnet and nerves send the signal as if you touched something pretty much, it's not a new sense, just repurposed old one.

    • @andyeggers7781

      hey, thanks for sharing your experience!

    • @vengefulenigma
      @vengefulenigma 8 лет назад +7

      Andrew Eggers haven't actually done it yet tho :)
      Most people do it by themselves with only mild sedatives, however i'm too much of a chicken to do that :D
      Also another thing worth mentioning: the magnet should be neodim and sterile aka gold plated or covered in silicone before put in the finger. And the finger where you want to put it is ring finger of non dominant hand.

    • @Panic_Pickle
      @Panic_Pickle 8 лет назад +4

      I know someone who did it with an iron magnet and it broke before they took it out, leaving a couple little shards in their finger. Definitely better to go for neodymium.

    • @vengefulenigma
      @vengefulenigma 8 лет назад +1

      Danul83 If you have it placed wrong it's gonna shatter either way, that's why you place it on ring finger of non dominant hand and even then it has a chance to shatter

    • @andyeggers7781
      @andyeggers7781 8 лет назад

      +vengefulenigma
      hm, the tips of the fingers do have a lot of touch sensitivity, but also a lot of pain sensitivity so that kinda sucks.
      what about an array of really small magnets, maybe implanted in silicone?
      I'd really like to be able to perceive EM waves

      Nigga mind needs brain to take form. The brain creates the electrical stimulations in order for the mind to exist . Nigga dont be stupid, braind and mind are relative.

    • @ShinyVeggie
      @ShinyVeggie 8 лет назад +2

      The only reason why some would think that the "mind" is a separate thing, is because our brain functions are so complex it creates the ability to observe our own thoughts. It is hard for a human to think of his thoughts as just electric impulses. This creates the illusion of mind and brain being separate.

    #1 (final) is pretty ridiculous, considering that
    *1)* Capturing bio-kinetic entropy is hardly a way to replace our energy needs, the yields would be pitifully small. They already have similar technology for wrist watches that recharge it from swinging your arms when you walk. Stuff like that, or recharging your smart phone, would be as far as the potential goes there. "Solving the word's energy crisis" with bio-kinetic run-off has gotta be the most absurd claim I've ever heard.
    *2)* How can you seriously miss absurdity of calling it "a potentially infinite source of free energy"? I guess it's the same mindset as those who call bio-fuel "renewable energy", apparently oblivious to soil depletion and energy costs of conversion.
    This energy is even less "free" than bio-fuel, as you're just adding another energy-intensive step to production by turning soil + sunlight into food, then converting food into energy through digestion and metabolism.
    Bio-fuels, be it plant or human, are a *horrible* "answer" to solving the world's energy crisis.

    • @vardenispavardenis9428

      +Durzo do some research if everyone would wear them it would be infinite energy

    • @Durzo1259
      @Durzo1259 8 лет назад +5

      Vardenis Pavardenis Sorry, but "do some research" is a completely useless, ambiguous and non-productive cop-out of an answer.
      I see this all the time on RUclips and it always turns out to come from someone who wants to contend a belief, but don't actually have a theoretical basis of understanding from which to make an argument for it.
      I've spent my entire adult life studying the sciences. If you want to explain how certain tech can violate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics - and if fact take a step further in the form of a magical *reverse* entropy machine that can draw blood from a stone - then by all means... but I'm not going to do your work for you by committing to futile "research" on the most absurd claim in scientific history, just to see if the entire structure of scientific knowledge really does need to be torn-down & rebuilt.

    • @overflow7276
      @overflow7276 8 лет назад +1

      Damn right! I guess it would be more efficient to just burn food and run a turbine!
      Or we could even replace farms and fields with solar panels! That would shorten the circle of energy even more! :D
      The last one is truly ridiculous....and eerie to some extent :S

      #8 Ben Greenfield has some good ideas but he lost me on the paleo/keto diet stuff. Dangerous for young fertile people. Dave's bulletproof coffee is an extension of that type of diet (and he ended up with diabetes). Twin doctors did an experiment and the one on keto experienced pre-diabetes after only 1 to 2 months on the diet! I was on paleo for 12 months and it screwed up my health so bad. There are also studies that refute the diet and there has been cases where people have died being on it.
      Keto is great for people who have seizures or the elderly but for people who are already fit, young and healthy, it messes you up long term.

      if somehow we got a stage of immortality and used our blood to create hydroelectric energy then technically that would be infinite energy. in the future theres probably going to be a much better way to do it than though. you cant read about what nobody on this planet knows

    • @heavycurrent7462
      @heavycurrent7462 8 лет назад +8

      You don't have the slightest clue on how human bodies function do you? With the same logic, why don't we put a turbine on each wheel of a car, charging the car infinitely so it can run forever? Energy is conserved. Your blood does not flow magically through the veins. It is being pumped by your heart. Harvesting the pressure would mean your blood would run slower than it should. And the hearth would need to pump harder so your blood can flow as it should!!
      You might as well eat half of everything you eat, and the other half is processed into fuel. It's the same concept. You don't extract energy from the body without taking away anything.
      Covering for your lack in knowledge by saying "we don't know what we can do in the future" is absurd. You might as well remain silent if you have nothing to say.

      +Bruce Hepel No you wouldn't...if you got 2 extra arms implanted some how your brain should easily be able to control it, as long as they connect every single nerve in the arms to your body and do a bunch of other things that involve extensive and possibly deadly surgery.

    • @staywoke354
      @staywoke354 8 лет назад

      Not to mention for them to be fully functional like the original two arms you would also need an extra set of shoulders which would make things extra complicated. This is one of the many reason why any human born with a working extra arm is so rare if it's ever happened. Much more common for functional polydactyly (an extra finger) because it's less complex than everything that contributes to making an entire limb work properly.

      Humans can only relate to nature, they cannot build something that is not based on what already exist in nature, it doesn't matter the level you are taking things (As in "Oh but humans made new elements" with existing sub-atomic particles) so it is completely pointless to say we "exceed" nature, as we are PART of it.
      Now, onto a solution to "nature" being damaged by humans: transform human genetic code to survive by alternatively making photosynthesis and respiration, then cement the surface of the whole world and build automatized robotic farms all over the place.

      Yeah as far as I understand it, the Matrix makes a lot more sense if you imagine that the Machines haven't enslaved humanity for electrical power, but rather, computing power. The human brain is still a highly efficient computing device in terms of Watts per unit of computation. It also explains why their brains are hooked up to the computers: They need their brains to think with.
      Of course, the Animatrix lays it all out and literally says that they're trying to use people like batteries instead of spare cpus, and that's because humanity blotted out the sky somehow. Honestly, they should have stopped with the first Matrix.

    • @snoopdogg2404
      @snoopdogg2404 8 лет назад +2

      The radiation as a result from nuclear fission is much greater than the radiation being the product of nuclear fusion. Also, it's contained within the plant and isn't disposed in nature nor reprocessed. So it's much better than nuclear plants we know today.

    • @verttiseppala1236

      Nuclear fusion has no radiation... nuclear fission is what has radiation. Fission is with things like uranium, fusion is taking two hydrogens and combining them. It's what happens on the sun, and provides much more energy. We just aren't efficient creating nuclear fusion generators yet.

The thing is when people or at least ignorant ones won't accept it. If you can download your mind into a new body or maybe have a back up of your mind in case something happens where would your soul be? Or is there such a thing? What if I pass my mind to another body while I'm still in the original? Is a soul just data? I'm excited to find out

      Yes, I think implanting another sense is useless, train all your senses and then go beyond biology.

    That last one gets me the most. Humans as a source of infinite energy? someone doesn't understand how energy works.

    id honestly be suprised if the entire internet could host a full human experience for longer than....say 30 seconds.....
    i mean, the fact that that could happen, would have ENORMOUS implications, and may say something big about us......but you get my point....

    the most amazing thing in this video is the body itself, don't need any of these add ons , I'm simply happy the way I am.

    I'm already plotting weaknesses.
    10: Shine a flashlight in his eyes
    9: Hack into his implants
    8: Deprive them of resources
    7: Raid the materials needed to make the coffee compound
    6: refer back to #9
    5: refer back to #6
    4: Neodymium Magnet (also humans have well over 12 senses)
    3: prolonged exposure to UV rays should do the job
    2: It's a copy of the brain's neuron patterns, therefore it works just as good as ctrl-C ctrl-V, meaning that you have no immediate control over the other vessel. It would only work the way we want it to with a full on brain transplant into a robot.
    1: This will seriously lead to the plot of The Matrix, so it's just a weakness in itself.
