Getting rid of autofill suggestions
--Clear your browser’s autofill form data, if it’s an option.
--Remove bad entries added automatically to your address book or contacts list.
--Clear individual suggestions by highlighting them and clicking an “x” or typing the Delete key.

Various tools try to be helpful, but sometimes they aren’t.
Finally! Thank you, Leo. Most posts and articles explaining how to stop autofill from filling in what was typed wrong before simply do not explain how to do it and just tell you to delete the contact - and the problem won't go away! Glad I found you!
Unfortunately this didn't help with the gmail app. I've tried everything you've said but the weird autofill suggestions don't show in desktop gmail. There is no way to delete them from the app.

Thank you so much! I had to get to the 3rd suggestion to find success because the bad email wasn't in my address book but hopefully I've solved the problem now thanks to your advice.

Great video. Thank you. Nothing worked on my system until I took one of your suggestions a little further. Using the arrow keys to highlight the unwanted entry and then pressing DELETE did not work but pressing SHIFT+DELETE did work. Problem fixed. Best Regards, Clive Bagshaw

Ok, this may sound crazy but I added the email to my contacts then deleted the contact and it worked!

For Firefox ...arrow key down to the one you want to delete, and then use shift and delete for it to be removed (not just delete) and it worked fine.
How does one delete an email address in gmail this is blocked but still comes up in the autofill? I have a bad scammer who I blocked which did stop the trash but his address still comes up in autuofill but not in my contacts?
My problem is an incorrect email showing up in my gmail email in my Android cellphone (not in my computer). Thus, the arrow buttons aren't an option. Is there anything I can do on the cell? (Your video is great; very informative. Thank you.)
Though it is helpful, but never work on my iPhone regardless I did delete the contact email autofill that was stored in my contact lists. Still that unknown auto email is still appearing, I do not know what to do. I deleted it from my Google contact on my Desktop (PC) I also deleted it on my iPhone 11 contacts too. I am frustrated really. I cant attached or sent images or anything becuse that email pops up immediately and even if I write the right email , it wont allow me..

Hi; I just ran across your video because I'm having the same issue wanting to clear out an old email address from my browser cache, but here's my question before I try this; wouldn't doing what you suggest here in this video affect "any & all" autofill info, not just the one thing you want to delete from the cache?

A long, long, LONG time ago - back when MS and IBM were friends - I actually worked on it. :-)
I recall OS/2 from circa 1989 -- 1990 when I was working at JPL. Big conundrum back then as to how to support it on our fledgling networks and rapidly growing number of PCs, along with the spreadsheet and word processing programs then in favor (Lotus 1-2-3 and WordPerfect). Windows 3.0/3.1 -- with Excel and Word ready to go -- through a monkey wrench into our planning and rollout of new versions of these applications (for the Lotus and WordPerfect people, too, who were working feverishly to get OS/2 versions of their programs ready). Gradually, everyone switched over to the Microsoft products under Windows, leaving Lotus's crumbs to be picked up by IBM and WordPerfect to lose its way under Novell but later finding a niche under Corel ownership. Lotus and WordPerfect staggered on for a number of years, but you can still get WordPerfect (great word processor -- better than any other DOS word processing/"desktop publication" application). Ahhh, I remember those years of joy installing Lotus, WordStar, WordPerfect, dBase and other favorites among DOS users (and setting up those printer drivers for each application), not to mention setting up autoexec.bat, config.sys, and ansi.sys files for the machines themselves just to make them viable on those Novell or MS/Net early networks. Of course, our Mac community looked on condescendingly (that ended after a few years) as we all worked to better our hardware, software, and networking.

I wanted to remove an outdated email address from gmail on iphone13. This video did not work for me.

Could you be specific, particularly with Gmail? When I go to contacts, I'm not finding these rogue auto complete email addresses that pop up when I create a new email. I start with the alphabet A -Z in the address field and boom these old one-time use email addresses pop up. The interesting part is, when I go to Gmail contacts directly on the web, these rogue email addresses don't show up in my contact list, but they are there within Windows 11 mail. Please help Obi-Wan Kenobi... You're my only hope....
The video includes another culprit: your web browser's attempt to be helpful and remember things for you. It's not gmail specific, and varies based on browser. So step one: see if it happens using a different browser.
