Thanks so much for making this video, they make it way too hard to figure out how to delete it. It shouldn’t be more than two steps in my opinion. It’s so aggravating if you have two or three emails that are very close but have typos and every time you go to email that person they pop up and you have to remember which one is the right one and which ones are the wrong one, making future mistakes increasingly likely.Thank you again
Very clear instuctions. I mostly use my android phone and its a little bit different and actually didn't work. I've deleted miss spelt emails but they still appear as an auto complete option. Why on earth is this so difficult

No, only works up to a point - when you start typing in letters (e.g. 'a') in contacts it only shows the first 5 or 6 contacts or autocomplete email addresses. If you delete some then more appear at the bottom of the list. It seems impossible to just obtain a total list on gmail of all autocompleted email addresses stored in gmail.
Alphabet, one of the world's largest tech cos can't provide this functionality. No need to worry, eh...?

Mines didn't work this way, but thanks for getting me started. I went to Google contacts, typed my name as it would appear when I'd compase an email and it didn't show up. So, I typed in the company name. That displayed a list of people that I contacted from the company and myself. I clicked on my name and selected "edit" to delete old email addresses and phones numbers. I hit "save" and everything was update. When it came to the staff at that specific company, I typed in the company name, hit enter and the list of contacts at that organization displayed. I checked them all and deleted them.

In this case, you will have to remove the account from the phone itself. There are some account settings in your phone, go to that location and remove the account.

If possible, please consider making a video showing the setup for connecting a Focusrite digital interface to a MacBook. I have recorded my own music using garage band in the past with a Firebox interface, but since the Firebox became obsolete, I've had nothing but trouble recording music like I used to.
Doesn't work for me. Not in contacts but reappears when I do a group email and it keeps coming up as auto suggestion :(

The trouble is - every email address I have ever written to in the past (but haven't necessarily ever been in my Google contacts list) still appear as 'Auto Suggestions'. It's very frustrating, as I may only have ever communicated to this email once, never wishing to keep it as a contact. These email addresses must be hidden in a file somewhere in Gmail, because I have the same problem on my phone as on my PC . Any idea where that file might be? Thanks

@@marjorieantrobus2047 Hi Marjorie, I got a reply on a forum. In Gmail, click on the icon (9-dot square - right hand title bar), then click on the Contacts icon. Down the LH side of the page you'll see 'Other Contacts'. Click there and it will bring up ALL the email addresses you've used. Delete the ones you don't want - this won't affect your 'saved' contacts. If you've got hundreds of addresses, a quick way to delete them en masse is by clicking the first one, hold SHIFT key, and then click the last on the list. Any addresses amongst the list you want to save, just click on them with the CTRL key.

Any idea for why this method might not work for me? I deleted the old emails from my contacts sometime ago but they still show up in my Gmail autocomplete. Now, I can't get the old email address to show in my Google contacts. Yet they still show as a Gmail email suggestion. I have a number of emails like this and I cannot find a way to get rid of them. I have multiple linked Gmail accounts but I've tried to go into the contacts for each. Any ideas?

I am not able to delete a contact at all from my Gmail account no matter what. I have been into my contacts list, frequent list, and other but every time I type his name in the send box, up it comes again! When I type his name in search it does not come up, I have refreshed of course but it still is there. Help!
I am having a problem with my Gmail and for the life of me, I am stumped. I followed your video steps. In Gmail, I click on my Google Contacts app and my list is complete and I see exactly the contacts I want. On the left menu of the Google Contacts app, I scrolled down to "Other Contacts" and nothing is showing (empty) which is what I want. Then I return to Gmail and click on COMPOSE, and in the "To" I type "Judy" or other email addresses and where I should see 3 listings for "Judy"I get 4 more email addresses than expected. (ie. JudyB@ yahoo,ca, JudyK2@@t, etc)
The addresses I see seem to be from older contacts I used to have many years ago, but now I see them again, not in my Contats but when I start typing in my "To" for the person I want to send the email.
On my Windows 10 using Gmail all is good no extra contacts, but when using gmail on my 2 phones this happens.
Has anyone had this problem before and how can I fix this.

Almost correct. The address still shows up in the "other" address category and has to be deleted there as well. Then it works.
