Awesome vid Ronnie. Nothing around the world beats your 4x videos. Australia is a different place to what i grew up with but you take me back and give me faith that all is not lost (deep i know but thanks anyway). JT from Kalamunda. 🙏👍
Over here on the east coast, we have this digging device with one end longer than the other. It's called a long-handled post-hole shovel. You should get one shipped across!
That wasn't just any local! You were speaking to one of the 👑(fantastic people BTW) 9:50 What can look like a benign rut in the track can easily turn into a 1.5M+ deep hole with a 1M+ undercut that collapses if you get too close or try to straddle them- Instantly diffing out your rig and possibly tipping it on it's side. After the storms that have rolled through recently there are plenty of these around just waiting to catch out the unwary... make for great content though!! 😁
two important tips for you, before doing a big hill put your seat forward a little bit because you'll sink back into the seat a bit more and if you stop/stall or whatever without vacuum for the power brakes you'll have to push the brake pedal harder for the same result pushing you back further in the seat at which point you might be tiptoe on the pedal with no way to stop completely. never disengage or engage lockers under load. engage on the flat before the hill and on the flat at the top of the hill. disengaging halfway up the locker stays engaged until load is released because you're still on the hill the locker may only partly disengage before load is applied again now it's relying on a partial engagement under load.
Indeed, I was wondering why you would release a locker halfway through. I am inexperienced, and I would have engaged the locker at the start and only released it when stopped at the other end. Incredible scenery BTW 😀
You don't really want to do anything past the takeout where you ended. lots of slack water but, there are a lot of pretty properties. Love Terrapin Creek!
@@reconadventures9257 NICE! I didn’t expect one of you guys to comment! I feel special now. You know, I doubt I’ll ever leave the US, but I think I could to go off-roading in AU. Cheers, Gents.
Thanks Ronnie. Since setting up an external TPMS in my FJ, I'm not sure whether to set my highway pressure target (40psi) hot or cold. That is, when the tyres are hot on the highway, should they be then at 40psi? Your channels and personality are the best. JT from Kalamunda.
Whats the better platform? 79 series or 80? 79 seems more flexible for builds. Also, what are you guys running for comms? is it Similar to GMRS in North America or VHF?
UHF only 5watts as anything higher requires a license to have which is not cheap. We can get HF but that’s a pain in the 🫏 to use and not many use that anymore also requires a license and membership to have. Hard to find a good 80 series without a stack of Kms/miles on them so I’d say a 105 series or 76
Usually on most of late as we haven't travelled much in past 12months but from now (4 episodes in edit) and the whole of 2024 itthere will be a lot of travel in the Troopy much of solo as it will be left in various states and 79 travel within and just outside W.A NT and SA
I can never believe the ridiculous silly little shovels that you always use. Buy a decent long handle Ridgid shovel from a plumbing supply. You’ll never want to leave home without it.
Been there done that and ended up with the small shovel again. They are great as you can hack at the ground and I honestly find them easier to use and less stress on the back.
@@Ronny_Dahl each to his own I suppose but I’m sure my back would last longer using the long handle version. If we ever meet up on a track one day I’ll challenge you to a hole digging race.
The only reason why the drops or sketchy for you cuz it cuz you're top-heavy and you got small tires come to America bro get some tires lose some weight and enjoy some real off-roading
These vehicles are setup for long range traveling and not for rock hopping. Very different style of driving. These type of vehicles are also not the best option for hard wheeling that’s more of a job for a Jeep or something old school with great wheel travel and big tyres/tires with just wheeling mods (not touring mods; long range fuel tanks, water tanks, roof tents, fridges, kitchens ect ect). On the flip side these vehicles can go a very long distance ‘remote’ and be self reliant / self sufficient a cross a desert for example.
@@Ronny_Dahl I'm just giving you blokes a hard time I love the channel I can't wait for every video that comes out maybe one day I'll get down there the wheels some long-distance thank you for the content keep up the great work
Good job Ronny, fixing a track is the way to go. Many are to lazy & will just look for the easy way out. We must protect our future 4x4 endeavors.
☮️ out ! ! 🤗
Wow, Ronny. Epic scenery! Epic company! Can't the same about those shovels :)
Wishing I were there!!! Well wishes from America!!
Finally, something worth watching!! Stick to this sort of thing as it's what you do best.
Morning coffee entertainment! 🏔️👌 12 hours behind here in 🇳🇴
Ansolutely stumning scenery down that way. Possibly the best in the state. Great stuff.
Love the south coast beaches! We used to have a camp at Duke of Orleans

What an epic little track and the quality of these videos is so good (although not sure what those weird blur masks were!)

Nice one, and that badge is worth gold. We miss Torbs or does he need a Troopy.😊
the ppd guy hit his face by the sheval handle was funny
Did anyone else notice the white car in the background getting stuck in the sand? Lol
camera car?
Excellent mate!
We’ll have to make a trip over there one day, you’ve got some pretty mint tracks in WA
Looks like a fun time. You ever going to let those guys eat😂😅😂

Good video, just wish it were longer.
This little wharton beach? Gets rough when you keep followng it ahah
Still loving it Ronny, why not get another vehicle to long term test. 70's are getting boring.
How does Sean rate those Baja's??
When you folks gonna visit us in South Africa?
Just getting out ... 🤠👍
What's causing the creaking noise in your roof conversion? Must be getting annoying, anything you can about it?
old mate in the 200 in the background got bogged at 7:52
Is that a new drone? Footage quality is mint 👌
Actually driving a Troopie and doing cool tracks, unlike that other channel. (cough-cough)
4:58 what kind of wildlife is that in the background?
I think it's called a Johnno :)

Can you make a video of the all new 79 series
Hey Ronny where’s the track? Couldn’t find it after a quick google.
Duke of orleans caravan park will sort you out. There are a few more great locations there too

@torbs_littlebear whys that?
Seems a bit odd. If thats you why you talking from 3rd person? Shouldnt it be "im no longer part of the channel"
No torbs
Bloke in the background about 7.50 might need some help.
