  • How to Play Country Fiddle - basic Lesson / tutorial on the style. "Fiddle" is a broad term for a bowed string instrument in the context of country, celtic, bluegrass, and other folk styles.
Its role changes from genre to genre. In Country music, the fiddle fulfills the same role that an electric guitar might in rock and pop music.
Common keys for country music include G, D, A because they use the open strings as "drones" or easy double stops.
    Check these two versions out:
    "Pop" Country version:
    • Darius Rucker - Wagon ...
    Traditional Country Version:
    • Old Crow Medicine Show...

Dude I’ve been playing guitar for 12 years, and then picked up banjo, still learning that, I’ve been wanting to play violin for a long time and I’ve had one, but you just broke this song down so well and motivated me to keep pursuing it! Thank you

Me too. I bought a cheap ebay violin and used youtube to figure out how to make it playable. A file and sandpaper and a black sharpie. It actually sounds pretty good. The bow sucks but I'll upgrade after I learn to play.

Hi Greg- sorry to miss this. Yes- The number one pedal I would recommend for looping is the ditto looper. Their base model is just under $90, has one button and is super easy to use.

What notes are you playing when you say go down the scale?

    • @AustinScelzo
      @AustinScelzo  Год назад

That would be the home scale, (A major) Another way to say this would be to "descend Diatonically" which essentially means you use the notes of the scale that is associated with the key of the song.

The best country fiddle learning technique so far on the market, Would you give Us some rhythm section playings on This one as well, ” nashville shuffle rhythm” is kinda rough to This one ( its for bluegrass! ) we Would like to have suitable rhythm playing technique and singing This song With it

    • @AustinScelzo

Thank you! I use mostly a mix of the simple shuffle and the 332 shuffle while singing. I find Nashville shuffle to be not only difficult to do while singing, but also too busy/in your face.

This is great! Solid mimicry approach to teaching. I really appreciated only adding a couple notes at a time.
One request would be that you repeat the newly developed part at least twice before requesting we mimic it. Oftentimes I find myself just trying to hear/discover the new notes on the first pass, so I’d love a second or third demonstration before feeling attempting to replicate it.
    Beyond that, outstanding!
Any chance you’d be willing to go in depth on the version from Old Crow Medicine Show?
