Just stumbling on this channel for the first time and my goodness, this is a great video! Thank you for your work!
I might also add that I am a hellenic polytheist, in the sense that I am practitioner (a person practicing) polytheism, with the belief that the Greek Gods do exist. I should also point out that I don't take the myths literally, as I see them as allegories. In my philosophical framework which is Platonism, we see the Gods as Good and Knowing, and that they are Goodness itself. I also follow Porphyry where he states that "all gods are in zeus, zeusically" just as "all goddesses are in hera, heraically."
It is of great importance to lay out a fundamental rule in what we believe: The Gods are Real, They are Goodness, and They care for mortals. Gods should not be portrayed like how Homer or Hesoid writes. Instead, these are meant to be explanatory texts to comprehend the nature of the Gods. They have a metaphysical layer to it which has a WHOLE other meaning.
Yes, I believe in Zeus, Yes He loves and cares for you, and it should be right to worship such a being. But I am not here to bring you into this, but merely to explain one side of the spectrum of Ancient Greek Religion. I preferably like the ending in this video, where you state that Zeus cares for mortals; indeed he does my brother, but many cannot see that due to interpreting the Myths (stories) of the Gods literally, and it's sad.
By the way, I know it's 1 year since, but I recommend you make a video about Zeus in Orphism! Our prophet Orpheus writes extensively on how the world came to be, and how Zeus was crowned King in a more, better way than Hesoidos (this is my opinion though)

Concerning the "womanizing" and relationships of Zeus.
In Antiquity people had a more permissive view of sexuality. The chief supreme god was supposed to be fertile and sexually active.
The word ‘rape’ has an older meaning, referring to “abduction”, “seizing away” or “carrying off”, sometimes by force. The word could also mean "rough sex". There are stories that show that Zeus was able to control himself and to "keep it in his pants" when necessary.
Reasons were provided by ancient authors explaining why Zeus had many affairs and impregnated many women. The children of Zeus were regarded as gods, demi-gods, heroes, benefactors, and founders of dynasties.

I would argue we have a much more permissive view of sexuality in the Western world today compared to that of antiquity by far. The classical Greeks had quite restrained views on sexuality on the whole, albeit from time to time and under very specific circumstances allowing themselves to “let loose”, as we might say. I’m sure we would all be surprised at how formal their society was compared to ours today in the West.

Though perhaps in mythology in certain unexpected ways there was a more permissive view of sexuality… but that is another topic entirely.

As a gay man who lives with his partner in Germany, our relationship is not only tolerated but also celebrated. This arrangement would have been completely unacceptable in the classical Greek or Roman world. I would have been expected to take a wife, have a family, and perhaps sneak away to live the life I truly wished to live in secrecy. What’s more, there are laws in place which protect me as a gay man. That would have been unthinkable in antiquity. Not only that, we also have laws to protect trans people. Again, mindblowlingly progressive compared to the ancient world during the rise of Homeric epic tradition.

I think it is because the gods represent concepts. Things that go well together are either married, siblings are both. Things that sometimes go together once in a while have are represented by the gods having consensual affairs that produce another god or goddess out of it. In the case of rape they are things that don't go well together ever. Where it has to be forced to happen.

I almost lost it when I heard some schools planned to remove Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey from the curriculum because of sexism and misogyny. Interesting though that there was no mention of all the murder and war going on in the myths. I guess that’s still acceptable…?

did you know if you really put your mind and if you really are aware of this after Zeus's rain over the humans and Olympians and God's alike that was an absence and in that time we had a new God that sent his son to take over from where Zeus was distracted from yes I'm talking about Jesus so think about that that should raise your eyebrows a little bit it should spark something I'm going to put the spelling on side of it so you can understand what I'm trying to say Zeus-jesus notice the spelling and then ponder when the so-called God of God was taken away he was replaced by a man of God descend would almost the same name thank people I told you that's a spiritual decree amongst all of this the same way our humans got laws Popeye has laws as well you do not do what you're supposed to do you will be replaced
