25 years in...never have come across anything close to this kind of detailed and technical breakdown of this very important aspect of the swing...thank you!
Greatly appreciate the comment and feedback here! So glad to hear that this helps you in the understanding of the rotation components of the backswing! If you ever need anything or have any questions what so ever, please do let me know! Thanks, TS
TS, I came straight to your channel after watching you and Eric C , I've been following Eric for many years , know one breaks a swing or lesson down like Eric, but I loved your concept ,so ty,
What i see is someone who can put what our brains are trying to tell us, into understandable words, ill say it, Brilliant, that IQ is way up there, no doubt about it. Thanks TS outstanding.
Hi TS, love this video. It makes things really clear. I'm hitting my driver too high. Could it be that I am doing too much ferris wheel? Should I try to do more merry go round to flight the ball lower?
There is a very good chance your upper center is getting ahead of your lower body if drives are getting piped up. The solution could be more Ferris wheel in the backswing, but we’d also want to see how the shoulder rotations are being presented in the downswing. Happy to help if you have any questions! My email is trevorsalzmangolf@gmail.com if you’d like to chat! Thanks, TS
It’s a great video. The only thing I wish you covered was how much the length of the club influences the merry go round vs Ferris wheel. I’ve always been told driver swing is more merry go round and shorter irons are more Ferris wheel. I’m a more upright player but recently flattened my driver swing to be more merry go round and it’s been a world of improvement for me. Keep up the good work!
I would agree with that! I’ll look at adding that to a future video in the future for everyone based on club types and how much of each are beneficial to a model! I appreciate the comment and feedback! 🙏🙏
.. this is great teaching, not only the content (I need more Ferris wheel 🤔) but the analogy Ferris wheel vs Merry Go Round. Anyone watching this couldn’t confuse the message, brilliant stuff well done Sir 👏👏. Ferris wheel helps me get a good right elbow angle at the top as well which was something I couldn’t quite figure out 👍
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate the kind words and feedback! Glad this has helped you with the trail elbow piece as well! So cool! Thanks again! TS
TS. Thanks for a brilliant clip. I focus a lot on my leg and knee movement during my backswing. To what degee should I focus on my legwork or, said in another way, should the shoulder movement be my primary focus and the legs just follow naturally. Kind regards.
The legs and knees provide a solid base for us to accelerate against in the backswing! It is our connection to the ground. A lot of comes into play with how the rib cage area and shoulders move better in my opinion! I still like seeing trail leg extends, just later in the motion for a stock model
Great video. One thing I also like to incorporate is the feeling of the handle pushing down and away in the Ferris wheel part of rotation. Not sure that makes sense but it helps with the second part of the rotation if you get that feel. Keep up the good work
Man that is one of my favorites here as well! That feel allows you keep pushing down on the handle helping it rise! Love that! Thanks for the comment and sharing! 🙏🙏
I do think that’s great for getting a feel! I think it is also important to use aides you can hit golf balls with! Thanks for the comment and let me know if you have any questions or need anything in the future!
As a subscriber, and huge fan of your content, I find the new subtitle bar distracting, especially being right over where the ball is. Maybe at the top of the screen would be better? Although, I would prefer it not be there at all. Especially since RUclips already provides subtitles. But this is just one man's opinion, for what it is worth.
Truly appreciate the feedback here! I was testing it on this video to see if it was liked or disliked. I’ll take note of this for future content! Thank you!

This was one of the major problems that you brought to my attention on the day of our lesson. This changed my golf swing completely for the better.
Awesome my man! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing you again soon! 👊👊👊
Good explanations. This is exactly what I'm working on with my local teaching pro.
So great to hear! I hope it is helping and wish you all the best with it! If you ever have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Bingo!!!! Thank you! 👊👊👊
i like it
Thank you!!!!
Just FYI as someone using darkmode watching this on their phone, those subtitles are blinding and super distracting.
Got it! Thanks for sharing that! I’ll take into consideration for future reference
