- Today I am reviewing the Jamaican Mango & Lime Shampoo and retwist locking gel on my natural hair! I use this during my wash day vlog and today I want to share the pros and cons of these products. ... 4 years later! I previously cut my locs into a bob and reattached my own locs (made my own DIY dreadlock extensions out of human hair). Now I have ombre locs! I know ... all over the place! lol, enjoy.

The Tingle shampoo gives my scalp life
I love jamaican mango and lime locking gel resistant formula and the island oil. Have used it for 11 years and never had buildup. My locs are thick and down to my butt.
I’ve heard bad things about this product but someone just used the gel to do my retwist. This retwist has lasted the longest for sure - no build up or itch. Maybe some itch at the 3 week mark but nothing outrageous or unnormal and it went away .. I don’t understand the bad reputation but I’m scared to use it every retwist for that reason . Also now it’s been 2 months later no flakes build up or anything as it would with other products…I don’t even want to wash my hair but ofc it’s time still . But I’m impressed

Thank you for your honesty at 8:30. I love this brand mostly for the smell, but many people are against some of their ingredients (especially the locking-gel, which I’m enjoying 🥲) I’m torn.

Ingredients?
I use most of the products of the Jamaican Mango Line. I used the firm wax on my natural hair for my two strand twist. I have also used it to start my son’s locs and to maintain his locs. I absolutely love this line! It leaves your hair so soft without any buildup. I ONLY use the Firm Loc Wax,Not the Gel on loc retwist and two strand twist . It’s not heavy at all, it is actually very light and leaves your hair shiny and twist are very bouncy. It gives great definition for a twist out when it has been applied to wet/damp hair. It smells amazing also 😊.
I've heard lots of good things about that product line but never used it. Thanks for the review because I'm looking for something to help with persistent itching and dryness so I think I'll try it after all.

I rate it a 10..I used it on my son locs..it did really well..haven't used it on my hair yet..maybe at my next retwist. I use the Cactus leave in moisturizer by Jamaican Mango & Lime..and I love it.
My exact thoughts, tried this back in the day but decided to buy it again since it's so easy to get the shampoo, conditioner, and retwist gel together.
Love the tie dye. I just bought a big bottle of Alikay leave in spray on clearance at Target. When I saw It I thought of how you love it. So I thought I would give a try.

Have you tried the tropical roots line? They have good products and can be found in stores easily
Unfortunately the Jamaican Mango and Lime, locking gel caused mass build up and itchy scalp when it was used to retwist my locs, so I won't be using it or having anyone else use it to retwist my locs 😔.

I’m on my second set of locs as an adult and the first set I used the old formula. I bought the new one so I’m gonna try it out
I Figured if its your first time using any hair products...do a test first instead of putting it all on your head...just use small amount on the new growth only instead of the whole loc to see if any build up happens etc
Love their itchy scalp spray (not menthol one) ….will try the gel
