This game premise kind of reminds me of that my sims resort game for the nintendo DS from years ago. But more multiplayer focused. My only complaint is that i think they referenced the visual style of acnh a little too heavily at times.

Cute concept. But it looks extremely cheap. The game isn't done yet tho, so I hope the animations and details improve. Def an indie game. So I would not try to "fix" anything. Just make your own game and make it unique. That's what they should do.

Is there life sim aspect. Because the villagers in New Horizons were too nice, kiss ups really. And they barely interact with you
Personally, I'm kind of tired of the game companies coping so much from the original titles and putting their games on KS. I mean, even the UI looks the same, seriously? :") I work in design and it's not that hard to create something a bit more unique.
seriously ive seen the furniture in this game from early development video and it looks like an exact rip off from acnh
You could probably tell them that directly and get them to change their UI. It's not like they are some giant development studio.

This game looks like a New Horizons alpha build, I hope they develop the art style further because its closer to "rip off" than it is to "spiritual successor". Those character models are dangerously close, its gotta separate itself if it wants to stand out.
This looks really fun but I do wonder how it’ll be for people who play solo or only 1-2 people, as a lot of those mini games seem more large group-orientated?
Agree about art style too!
We're hoping that it'll be enjoyable for couples and best friends! All of the minigames can be played 1 on 1 and of course you can meet new people at the Space Station to play with

No way in hell is an MMO getting made for $50,000. If they don’t have other funding then this isn’t going anywhere.

I don't mean this to be rude but while the trailer is cute I can't get over how choppy it is... Also the online features im not wildly impressed by it gives me a bit of a Roblox vibe...
Maybe I'll be more interested when it's further along but it doesn't really have enough that makes it seem unique or stand out to push me to fund the kickstarter
Im very very interested in this game. I love pet collectors! I wish they would, idk maybe add more shaders though? The world and character models seem to lack alot of shading and as a result the over all style looks very flat at times. But the concept art is very appealing and i like the way they used shapes.
Thanks for the feedback! We're heavily focused on getting all the gameplay elements working before 100% dialing in the shaders. Hopefully it'll look as amazing at the concept art on release!
i just wish new horizons had more animations, like i wished my villagers interacted with all the stuff i built for them :(
online is not what i play animal crossing for, i play animal crossing for a cozy life sism, i just pray the next animal crossing removes terraforming and takes it back to the forest, no more island. ALSO give the villagers personality's please
Totally agree with this! Terraforming is so stressful. I liked the randomness of islands and how you needed to work with what you were given. Decision fatigue is real lol
Exactly terraforming is stressful and it just looks ugly! and i cant stand the island aesthetic for animal crossing, just give me new leaf but a bigger map or a land locked forest in a mountain were you need to travel to the beach and maybe the beach has lil shops on it like a seaside version of the city in city folk!@@reesemakespeace
Just because you don’t like terraforming doesn’t mean it should be removed. Just don’t terraform? I know lots of people (myself included) who adore terraforming and yeah it’s hard but it is what it is. Without it our islands wouldn’t be half as pretty

It looks cute! I just worry that it looks a bit too similar to animal crossing. Like the art style. Even some of the hairstyles are the same.
I remember Babar!, (I thought "Celeste" was the coolest name at the time). I watched it when the original show aired on HBO (I'm old), it was produced by Nelvana, which I think brought a lot of Canadian shows to the US. I'm looking forward to this game, the mini games look fun and having your own planet sounds cool.
This looks really cute! But i rarely have someone to play with me so i tend to go for solo games most of time u.u
One of the big reasons we made this game is because we saw so many AC players looking to make friends online! A really big focus of the game is fostering community with the multiplayer features
This sadly even in it's current state is a hard letdown, Sure im not expecting it to be perfect or even half as good right out of the gate but just based on that trailor so far, Im not holding my breath, Can it become better than ACNH in the future? Absolutely! But as it stands now i don't see it, But i def wish them good luck regardless!!!
It looks nice, but very similar to Animal Crossing, especially the customizable character and the assets. I don't know if that counts as some kind of plagiarism because imo it looks way too much like Animal Crossing. The animal NPCs so far look meh. The pets are cute though. There's still plenty of time to make adjustments however. Also, I hope it runs smoothly by release. The frame rate looks a bit rough. Otherwise the concept is interesting for sure! Hopefully it's not a cash grab and they manage to release the game. I'm unfortunately not too keen on Kickstarter projects.
It looks great, my only thing is Animal Crossing is such a labor intensive series, I doubt they will ever be able to compete, and with them functioning as an MMO... I'm not sure if I want to play it Animal Crossing as an MMO or games as service title. I want to wish them luck though because it does look like a lot of fun.

I'm excited for the multiplayer part, I love the online features as I felt that visiting others' islands got boring after a while. what a great idea!

they did it!! I'm in it,too- Let's see where this gets. I so often bought something on Nookazon when this first went live years ago! Animal crossing is not getting any interesting minor updates anymore and this is hell frustrating-
people have been losing their minds over puff pals island skies being an animal crossing knock off i cant wait till they see this and shut up about puff pals.

The only draw-back for me would be the animal NPC's......I have bad flash-backs to Hoko!!!

I love Babar 💚 i didn't watch it as a kid, but i would catch episodes when they played it on The Hub/Discovery Family channel a few years ago. It's such a peaceful show, I like to stream it when i want something calming on 😊

okay i'm super excited for this! i will say, the art style doesn't do it for me though, like you said the furniture looks great but it's like 2 different art styles put together which doesn't work very well, but all the features of this game seem INCREDIBLE! i honestly can't wait, but i know it's going to take years before we see this

this game looks interesting! The pets system and farming to attract pets is cool. Though I would only play it on the switch cause thats what I've got.
Oof the frames during the planting animation. That one clip in particular highlights both major issues: shovelware game-feel and way too much reliance on the ACNH art style with no polish.
I recognize Babar!!! I didn’t know his name and I don’t know if that show aired when I was a kid (in the US) but he does look very familiar.
The show was based off of the book series, so it's possible you've seen the books

To know animal crossing fans made a game with all the good features from other AC games, that’s amazing.
I did have a question if you have a chance, regarding the main game play /story, do you think it will be longer than say ACNH?, I felt getting 3 stars for kk slider to come was so short. I I really wanted more.
I understand itll be different in your game, I was just curious on the length/time it would take to complete, or if there will be a main story even.
I used to LOVE Babar as a kid I had the VHS of it lol im french so I dont know if its a french/francophone thing

Not a good video title. Doesn't replace ACNH in any shape or form, has nothing remotely ACNH in it. It doesn't seem to market itself as Animal Crossing-like anywhere on Kickstarter, fortunately.
Don't set unrealistic expectations for the game. ACNH is already an incredible game and it does its own thing.
Its an MMO with minigames and some cozy elements. Its more similar to other cozy games than it is ACNH. It looks fun as its own cozy game, but don't try to market it as anything Animal Crossing.
It's definitely different from ACNH in many ways, and both games have their own style, but the lacking online features in ACNH is in fact what inspired this game. There is a post from the creator on Reddit, that says ''3 years ago I was unhappy with ACNH's multiplayer. Today I just launched the Kickstarter for my multiplayer cozy game Galactic Getaway'''

There is nothing wrong with Animal Crossing. It just follows its own rules and is one of a kind in the gaming history.

Kind reminds me Hokko Life rather than Animal Crossing to be honest.
But at least this one has mini-games and online multiplayer play, so yeah that's interesting.
Hope to see it on PS4/5, yeah Switch is fine but I prefer to play this third-party type of games on PS consoles.

Very interesting lookong game! It may be a hit. Honestly if I were them (or any other developer just starting a game), I'd scratch any plans to port it to switch officially and just say "consoles" while watching for the next system haha.

In what ways? Genuine question. When picking a cozy game or farm sim, the two most important features for me are snappy game-feel & a cohesive and appealing art style, neither of which are showcased here. As someone who really enjoys cozy games, I'm curious as to what makes this one appealing. Is it just these specific online features that Animal Crossing is missing which makes it seem more fun?

Man I have been waiting forever for an indie studio to give Animal Crossing the same treatment Stardew Valley gave Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons.
