I wish I had seen this before our migration. Our entire migration was derailed because we could not get the relay to work between our primary Linux server and our Office 365. After watching this video, it showed him un-checking the box regarding headers. This was the answer and all seems to be well now. Thank you.

Hi Tom I have a requirement for reverse, I need to receive all emails from support desk@365 to an internal SAP server, how do i achieve that? Do I set it up this way and then foward the emails to noreply@?
I cannot find if there are any limitations for using this as a mail relay. I work for an electric utility and we have between 6000-7000 people that want their bills emailed to them. We email subscribers twice per month (3 times for the ones that are late). Our billing server generates the emails and relies on a separate mail relay server. But I don't want to attempt this if there is a maximum number limit that is below our potential. Great video though!
Are you sure you're looking under portal.office.com? The settings -> domains won't be under outlook.office365.com/ecp, but will be under portal.office.com. Either way, you can just use your Office 365 MX record which you should be able to find out from your DNS admin or via mxtoolbox.com.
Tom Erdely yes I am sure. we have office365 through godaddy, dont know if that makes a difference. Also, emails go to a. com domain but the scanner im trying to set up is in a .local domain
I am not familiar with GoDaddy's implementation for Office 365, but the settings are the same. The from address needs to come from your real domain. The SMTP server is your Office 365 MX record. Authentication is none and encryption is none. Port is 25. This is after the connector is set up properly. Good luck!
Yes I have Office365 thru Comcast and the domains category is missing as well. When you setup the IP in the connectors section of O365 did that create the MX record in the Domain section? Sorry I dont have that to test. This has been a nightmare migration for us. Comcast shutdown our SMTP server and our Exchange svr wont send (yet).
excellent video. One comment I might add though is do not use "donotreply@yourdomainname for the sending email addresses. This triggers spam filters. We normally use scanner.location@yourdomainname for the sending address.

Hi Tom, when you say, "you must allow outgoing port 25 for any devices using this connector", is this in firewall?
