- How to setup Hybrid Configuration Wizard in less than 5 minutes. HCW helps in performing Hybrid Migrations easier in Office 365 (prerequisite). It performs various tasks at On-Premise Exchange Server (2010, 2013, 2016) such as:
a) It updates E-Mail Address Policies with additional smtp as @tenant.mail.onmicrosoft.com.
b) It adds Remote Domains with tenant.mail.onmicrosoft.com and tenant.onmicrosoft.com.
c) It adds a new accepted domain tenant.mail.onmicrosoft.com.
d) Configures mail routing between On-Premise & Office 365.

ok, so I did this and migrated 1 test user. I am able to send and receive when i send from o365, however, should I be able to configure Outlook as well with my test o365 accnt? I tried setting up Outlook and it couldnt find my accnt. I did get an error when i finished HCW about autodicsover or something like that.

dear sir i have a question about hybrid configure you set up exchange hybrid how about the user that don't have license for office 365 after they hybrid their exchange will they have any problem if they are going to use exchange online? or they need to move their user to office 365 too to be able to have a proper email sending with hybrid method?
Sending of emails are not effected. If a recipient is external like gmail or any other organization it uses their mx dns record and goes directly from onpremises. It won't first go to o365 and from there it will be sent. Users won't need license till 30 days after migrating to o365 as well in hybrid.
It was awesome very quick and descriptive, I am beginner in Messaging i have taken office 365 subscription and configured DNS, Active directory in VMWare machine kindly help how to get exchange server to setup HCW? Please share your contact if possible.

If my org is using a third party solution for incoming emails from internet and it has multiple public ip's, how do we configure those as in video there is an option to give only one public ip.

At third party you need to create outbound connectors. During hcw configuration, either enter 3rd party service provider hostname or their public ip. Do email the complete scenario at ajey@akginfotech.com for free consultation.
How to know public IP of Transport server as you mentioned IP will be provided by ISP ?

3) Why we used public IP here?

You can run hcw from any member server, not on Domain joined client o/s like windows 7 or 10. Its installed on server os e.g., win2012r2

@@samdsam414 Yes, the custom domain must be first verified in the O365 tenant and all proxy addresses of the user at on-prem must be added in the Accepted domains first in O365, else migration will give errors.
@@AKGInfotech Great Video...I have a question on Office 365 Prerequisites of loading the domain in Office 365 before starting the wizard. Once that happens, it will automatically start routing email to this Office 365 account for anyone on Office 365. Can we load the domains in Office 365 without updating DNS First?
@@markgrafing it would be added however it will show setup in progress. If mx will not be pointed either at on prem or in O365, mail flow will not work.
ajey nice video and straight forward.....please guide from where to get public IP and public certificate ..... and I am using exitel fiberoptic connection how do i use public IP for server hosted in wmware pro lab at home......my ISP don't give public IP .... godaddy say that i've to buy hosting with them to get dedicated IP ........ please giude me as I urgently need to setup hybrid set ..... i have office 365E5 pan for 1 year and i want to connect my home lab to it.....which has DC and member server with Exchange 2013..... thank you
well at 1:20 when the wizard started it was already trying to connect to your DC/Exchange. How did it know where it needs go? did you skipped that step?
It will choose the exchange server automatically. If u have multiple servers, then it will give you dropdown to select the server with which u want to configure hybrid. Hope i addressed ur query, my friend. Do Subscribe, there are plenty in pipeline to come.
2) Does it require any federation service configuration?
No federation is required.
