This music is written by the Motzart of the 1970s Such an underated musician. It's only in later years people now realise what a genius he was . Barry Gray they will talk and listen to your music for generations to come.
What's really great about this soundtrack is that it's the main theme reworked into different styles. In this medley you hear it being used as a fast paced theme tune, fight music, chase music, romantic interlude, mysterious investigation, big band swing, nightclub jazz, creepy sci-fi atmospheric music and even a jaunty, merry piece. It showcases Barry Gray's ability not just as a composer but as an arranger as well.
@@DarrylWade-f8h It's three or four years that I've had this as a ringtone, Darryl, but from memory you buy the original track on iTunes then run it through an app to convert it to ringtone format and chop it to the phone's maximum 30 seconds. Then upload it to your phone and set it as the default ringtone. I forget the name of the app I used, but there are eight or 10 that can do the job for you. It's more complicated to explain than it is to do. Good luck.
This is a great series of programs. I was introduced to this British program for the first time on RUclips. I grew up on Star Trek back in the 60's and was not to familiar with BBC programing until the 1980's when occasionally some of the Canadian channels or PBS would play programing from the BBC.
Esa época de los sesenta setenta ochenta y noventa fue genial. Buena música , buenas series televisivas. Las películas las pasaban en cines . Se pagaban unos centavos por verlas. Y era una novedad verlas..
Nah, his second in my opinion. I think the Thunderbirds theme was the best, especially when coupled with the Thunderbird 1 launch when the rocket blast-off is a part of the music.
Fond memories of my uncle always showing me Gerry Anderson stuff whilst growing up. Always reminds me of him I'm an indirect product of the sixties and seventies
Super soundtrack, its one of my favourite Sifi TV Shows, until now i like to watch it. Cool Commander Straker, Moonbase girls with amazing lila hair, amazing. Thanks alot for uploading. Best regards from Austria 🇦🇹
Just came across this and thought what a masterpiece!!!! Barry Gray was incredible. Reminded me of being a kid and hiding behind the sofa as the Aliens shoot people dead for their body parts...☹️😂🤣 Wow..... serious stuff...still love it now. Straker how cool is he..........
The Pasadena Freeway is a total Deathtrap. I would play the opening theme as I entered at Ave. 60 and it would end as I hit the Golden State interchange. I would cover the five miles between at speeds of 110 mph or better. Barry was a true master of his art. The second season of Space 1999 was lacking without his musical touch. Not a bad soundtrack but not as good as Mr. Gray could have composed. Many thanks for posting!
Para la seré ufo fue lo más inovador para los años 60s de un futuro presente para hacer otra seré de TV es difícil serequere un gran talento de artistas y escritores
Sure must have been cool working at Shado HQ given the cool late 60s music over everything. Harrington-Straker Studios maybe not so much. Gotta maintain a cover over everything while producing losing films lol

Barry Greys theme tune is iconic, and a serious piece of Jazz-Funk. For me was a brillant series from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and the crew respect😊

My favourite tv show of all time. Probably the best soundtrack of all time as well.
This is the ringtone on my phone. It gets huge smiles or recognition every time I get a call in public.
How do you get this as a ringtone

Absolutely brilliant TV music and incredibly evocative of its time.
Its time? Do you mean the 1960s or the 1980s ? 😄😄

Barry Gray's music makes your pulse pound, no matter which show he wrote it for, but I suspect the music for Thunderbirds was the very best.
The UFO music is an all time favourite song. 👌
Barry Gray knew how to compose a good tv theme
This music 🎵 make me wanna slide on some Bell bottoms, mount into a set of platforms. And go 007. Loved watching this as kid. One of my favorites.
Our machine of they times...!!!!
A great theme, often overlooked.
The good stuff often is.

Gotta love the James Bond reference at 1:32! 😎
Reminds me of beautiful Lt Ellis. Loved seeing her as a kid.
I love seeing her even today, and I'm no kid!
She certainly was a stunner.

I hear this music and I say Stand by to launch SKY1
This was achingly cool. They said Straker could be Bond.
Adjust the speed to 0.75 at the tune @4:13 and you get a Portishead-sounding record. So good!!
Brill ..thanks barry ..

1:49 fantastic
Totally agree! He let it hold on the main groove which is so damn.........groovy!

the simpsons hit and run has a version of this song in its ost
so good music but so bad sound in our old tv set back then !
just a reminder how bad our tv set was 1970
And soooo heavy!
Maybe so . But when it was first shown in my country we only had black and write transmission in 1971 New Zealand. A true classic now.
Brill TV.
