    Freddie's favourite instrument to play was the audience, but his favourite prop on stage was the mic-stand.

    • @snakelite61
      @snakelite61 3 года назад +7

      It was a special mike stand without its base. He had broken it off during an earlier concert and continued to use it in his appearances. Someone stood by to toss it to him when he got up from the piano, because it could not stand on its own.

    That microphone 🎤 is iconic and here's why, early in Queen's career, he was apparently mid-show when his mic stand snapped in half. Instead of having it replaced, Freddie just used it as-is. He must have liked it, because he used the mic "stick" from then on.

      Texas Magnolia I do agree humour can cross a line, but I think Leo is exploring and finding his voice, determining where the line is. I can see a continuous recognition of the changes he is trying to make while keeping the essence of his reactions the same. Growth, learning and acceptance are all integral, and comedy it truly one of the last bastions. His channel is certainly not for everyone, there are absolutely some NSFW moments. I wear headphones if I’m listening around my kids. But his heart and vulnerability shine through beyond the humour and that is what I’m continually drawn to. He has a unique quality that I have yet to see in other RUclipsrs.

    His "flamboyant" looks can definitely make us pause. For one, any unusual look is going to be something we're not used to seeing. Perhaps more to the point, our culture is still slowly evolving in how we view homosexuality, and I'm sure there are many of us who accept gay people in an abstract way, but who aren't yet comfortable actually facing it, especially when it's male-male. Not judging anyone here, just acknowledging that culture moves slowly.

    Freddie was very athletic and a soccer player he used the microphone stand as a bat. His band mates said they have seen him use the stand it hit things thrown on the stage. One spector throw golf balls on purpose and he would hit everyone back into the stands and never missed. Freddie knew where he was a and just had fun with it

    When Freddie started out with Queen, he was fascinated by the use of black and white in costumes, even his fingernails -painted black. Unusual at the time.

    In one of Freddie’s very very early performances, the mic stand wasn’t tightened and pulled loose. Instead of being embarrassed, Freddie chose to make it his signature shtick. Queen was one of a kind!! Brian May BUILT that red guitar himself. He still uses it today!! Loving how you’re embracing what is essentially the fabric of our young lives!! The music of the 70’s will NEVER be paralleled...now that we have auto tune!! 🙃
