There's still people trying to leave that concert venue.
You're the ONLY Reactor WHO DIDN'T NOTICE THAT THERE WAS WELL OVER A MILLION PEOPLE AT THIS PERFORMANCE
I noticed there was loads but didn’t know the numbers haha
@@RNDReactsthat's okay I heard when you said, there are sure a lot of people there
1.6 million people!! This was just after the fall of the USSR, and the place was opening to more Western influence. This was part of a heavy metal music festival-- something those kids had surely never seen before.
NO WAY!!!
@@RNDReacts That was the best estimate. The problem was that this was a free concert, they tried counting people at the gates but there were so many climbing over fences and so on that the count became useless.
This concert took place shortly before the fall of the USSR. Everyone pretty much knew the USSR was about to collapse which is why the concert was able to happen. The concert happened in September and the official collapse and dissolution of the USSR happened in December.
@@Lunzatis_Palemoon Thanks for the extra details.
They could have been up towards 2.2 - 2-4 Million people think about all those big crowds scattered away from the main crowd in the streets
I’m from Moscow, I was born in 1991, and as a child I had older friends who were proud to be there. Then I absolutely didn’t understand what was so important about this concert, but when I saw it, I understood their pride))
Uh, after more than 3 minutes a comment like „so many people“…?
If u know anything about live music, then the first few seconds must have blown u away…
U will never ever see a bigger crowd than this, over 1.6 million people!! Thats once in a lifetime!
The very first thing to notice about this concert is the SIZE of the crowd.
@3:15 "there's so many people"
That's the point of this video.
Check out "Creeping Death" from this same concert.
OK for Perspective . Taylor Swift recently got a million people at her European tour, which comprised 20 concerts . With social media and all communication platforms. SHe is supposed to be THE biggest music influencer and star in the world in the modern age. THIS was 1 day , with no social media and yet 1.6million turned up . Learn
The song is about a child having nightmares and dreams and bedtime.
The lyrics ‘in closet, in your head……the beast under your bed” are about all those things that kids have nightmares about.
That makes sense why i felt like that haha!
It’s about crib death
@@nickkleiber8636 originally but the lyrics were changed (before release). Search ‘Metallica enter sandman lyric meaning’
The fact that you didn’t freak out when you saw the crowd ruined this for me 🤷♂️
Another side of Metallica is their song "Nothing Else Matters." If you want, check out the original song video.
MUCH MUCH MORE METALLICA 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘…They have so many bangers in their otherworldly catalogue 🔥🔥🔥
Great song & reaction! I saw them in concert with my friend in the late '90s!
Awesome song, Brilliant react.
I AGREE! and thank you
They are in their 60s and still touring😂
They’re instrumentals like call of ktulu and anesthesia pulling teeth are absolute 🔥
Also Seattle 1989
Germany, 2024
Antarctica , 2013 (Yes, they really played Antarctica😂)
Haha casual just sees 1.6
Million people and has no reaction 😂😂. Just an everyday crowd at a concert
Glad I read this before watching. Won't be.
Welcome to the long trip with metallica. Look up, "one" "master of puppets " "fuel" harvester of sorrow", "nothing else matters" "king nothing". Have fun.
The government divided us, music united us..
Iron Maiden made a whole song about what you were talking about called “Fear of the Dark”
I feel the same. Great analysis!
Only time ive seen them was at Hammersmith Odeon justice for all tour..long time ago... it's baffling how they still rock out with the same energy great live band.
Yes, creepy, but awesome at the same time! 😄
I think so too!
Days of the New is a band not many people have even heard of. Worth a listen to. Travis Meeks was 17 when he wrote the album. Three number one hits after it's debut.
Good Lord, you’re beautiful😂
I fell in love with Metallica because I cannot just listen to Prince anymore. It just hurts too bad… and heavy-metal heals my soul… weird but true.
Prince got me through puberty …Metallica is getting me through menopause.🤟🏾🤘🔥🦑🤔🥶🫶🏾
a perfect follow-up would be Iron Maiden's song Fear of the Dark! Both songs delve into themes of fear and the darker side of the mind. "Fear of the Dark" for its haunting atmosphere and storytelling. Plus, the guitar work is fantastic!
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Metallica. Must sees are Creeping Death from the same show, Master of Puppets 1989 Seattle, For Whom the Bell Tolls.. Day at the Green SF 1985, and One from the 1989 Grammy appearance
From the feeling you described about going to bed at night, you should definitely check out Iron Maiden "Fear of the Dark". And I highly recommend that you do a live version of it, such as the concert from Rock in Rio 2001. The song is much more immersive live than the studio version. And I think you'd get drawn in just as much as with this video.
There was around 1.6 million there!
THATS CRAYY!
@@RNDReacts if I remember correctly, this was the first concert after Russia became a democracy!
@@daveboxg3926 i never watch the news, I'm 20 years old, hardly any of us watch the news anymore, I genuinely had no clue
@@RNDReacts I believe you, I'm 47 and I don't watch the news either
Just discovered this channel. I really do like you voice.
The Kings 🤘
im shocked that the first thing that you didnt mention was that were 1.6 million in attendance..
I used to listen to this song right before I played the football game (not soccer) to get hype up before the game
♥♥♥
GOAT
Are you hip to the Warning yet? (Yeah I am old) Three sisters that went viral about 10 yrs ago for playing this. They were only 9yrs , 11 & 13 yrs old I think and even Metallica loved it. Now that they are all grown up and 19 - 23 or so they have released a masterpiece version of this iconic song ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html but they are also incredible songwriters too and mostly sing their own rock music, but this song started it all for them. BTW they also write and sing primarily in their second language as they are a Mexican hard rock power trio.
I was there among the crowd.
What a moment to have lived through. This is what world peace looked like back in the day. 1.6 million humans free to enjoy the west!❤
Your welcome
1.6 million people for the very first rock concert in Moscow Russia after the fall of Communism. Seriously insane.
I’ve never seen a single reactor not react to how many people were in attendance. What the hell were you watching? You don’t have to know how many people there were but not even noticing or saying anything is insane? You have to actually react to be a reactor hello? Just watched you stare at the video the whole time… with no reaction? First time watching and last. You may want to find something you’re better at…
You look gorgeous w your hair down & keep the video reaction going, you’re doing a great job 😊
Check out Journey faithfully
What you experienced when you were younger was probably real, funny you bringing that up it's usually in the subconscious people put to the back of their mind and want to forget I remember everything I've experienced... there's so much I could say about it but it's very disturbing for alot of people.
Yeah mines disturbing too, that’s why i didn’t get into it too much 😂
@@RNDReacts That's why 99.9% of the people who experience it bury it deep and throw away the shovel 🤣🤣
Its called lucid dreams the brain can make evrything seam totaly real in dreams!
@@skaraturbo nope
@@stoneoutdooradventures2286 O so you mean you belive it was a real demon or something? dont tell me you belive fairytales like that!
The Warning does a version of this song, EPIC
Now they have four covers out there
Commenters are saying this was after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Sorry, but this was 3 months BEFORE (September 1991) the collapse of the Soviet Union. The USSR imploded in December 1991. Western music had been banned (tapes/CDs etc. Even Western Brand Jeans were a sort after black market item) for decades but the people knew about the Western bands via bootleg albums and radio broadcasts. That's why the audience were going crazy. They hadn't experienced this before.
The USSR was collapsing and the Soviet government attempted to do things to keep the people happy. One was to bring the "Monsters of Rock" program that was touring Europe at the time, to the USSR. Metallica, Black Crows, Pantera and the headline act ACDC, were all part of the Monsters of Rock program. They performed at Tushino Air Field, Moscow. It was a free concert but had tickets. They had expected around 250,000 or so but when over 1 million turned up, they were swamped.
No one really knows how many attended. Estimates range from 1.3 - 1.6 - to 2 million. Those helicopters we see in the video were attempting to cool the crowd as hundreds were dropping from heat exhaustion and many had to be admitted to hospital. Yes, there were even a few deaths.
There was a video made done by the MoR support organisation because the USSR had no real experience of filming huge Rock Concerts so the sound quality and cameras were insuficient for the occassion. I've seen the whole thing. ACDC came on later that night.
👍
ZZTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok it has to be done
Hey, was wondering if you like classical music too ? If yes, I would sugest you to take a look at "Tina S. - Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement" (just a little different vibe of the Beethoven piece you maybe already know)
Crowd size my Dear , you didn’t notice?
I did! 😂😂 that’s why I said there’s a lot of people
@@RNDReacts it’s crazy and probably never be duplicated again.
@@billpimentel-vm6cu Never say never, Russia still adore Metallica.
@@Egor8488 I agree but with the current events happening over there, I don’t see it coming anytime soon.
@@billpimentel-vm6cu Maybe, but nevertheless, sooner or later the light of real and quality music will shine again in Russia. By the way, greetings from Russia. Peace.
I saw these guys 3 times on this tour. Caught a pick from Kirk. In South Dakota, the pit threw shoes onto the stage. IMO Pantera put on the better show here.
Oh boy…..another catalog
🤘👍👍🤘ed
why is the intro from the good & bad & ugly?
You should check out pantera domination it at the same concert i amazing
we need metal my noob channel goahead lol
please react to babymetal gimme chocolate. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!
The black guitar lead singer James Hetfield is playing saved his life a few months later. They were playing in Montreal, James was standing in the wrong spot during a song, the pyro guy didnt see him, and POOF! a huge wall of flame and sparks ignited right in front of him! He was badly burned but survived. His custom built ESP "Explorer Style" guitar was incinerated on impact. From then on ESP guitars were elevated to almost a mythical status in guitar world. They're expensive...and worth it!
