- We had an extremely fun series of tournaments in Los Angeles in the late '90s.
The 1996 Gilbert Cup was played at the Beverly Hilton, and the participants were J.O. Waldner, Zoran Primorac, Andrzej Grubba, Kim Taek Soo, Jean Michel Saive, Philip Saive, Erik Lindh, Chen Xinhua, Patrick Chila and some of the top players in the US at the time: Cheng Yinghua, Khoa Nguyen and Jim Butler. The prize money generated an entertaining mix of competition and exhibition. - Спорт
Bring back the 38mm ball and 21 point games!
Penholder Forever, Kim Taek Soo!
the sound and feel of the glue... this game will never be the same again with those silly plastic balls...
Macias1000000 couldn't agree more, wtf have they done to our game???
Macias1000000 and those water base glue
I am okay with the serve rule change and glue ban, but these 40+ balls really killed this game. It’s so boring nowadays.
Saive was such a beast. He played back then with the 38 like the modern players play with the 40+/ tension rubbers.
I have already fallen in love with saive
Great PLAYERS.!!! 21 points its the best!!
Epic comeback!
Perfect ending!!!!
